The Beautynomist Takes On the Shiseido White Lucent Skin Challenge!

Two weeks ago, Sample Room Partner Bloggers were given a treat to an afternoon of beauty pampering, and makeover, courtesy of Shiseido Philippines. We all met up at SM Makati, at their current pop-up store at the ground floor, near the SM Department Store there. We were given a chance to try Shiseido’s newest breakthrough product that promises you that your dark spots will be erased, and what would be left, is only beautiful, even, bright, beautiful skin.

Shiseido White Lucent The Ultimate Whitening Pair works hand in hand, as the Shiseido White Lucent Spot Targeting Serum+ crushes all the hardened melanin on our skin ( our dark spots caused by aging, sun exposure, and even hormones ), and Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask ejects all the existing crushed melanin.

This is the Shiseido pop-up store at SM Makati. There, they offer free consultation ( no purchase required ), and makeovers and facials with a minimum purchase. There, you can also see Shiseido makeup that you can actually swatch and check for your perfect shade!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Challenge Results

It’s the end of my challenge with Kiehl’s! Overall I had a good experience with it, and I’ve definitely seen results.

To sum up my Kiehl’s Midnight Skin Recovery Challenge, here are my notes about it :

kiehls2

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate earns goodie points as it made my skin softer, and definitely that brightening effect when I would wake up. I feel that my skin is more hydrated and protected from the A/C when I sleep, so I wake up with good skin. What I am not accustomed with, is the oil base, though. As an oil-phobic gal, I must admit that I do not feel that great when I use oil products. Though this is really good, and I see this so promising with dry skin, and normal skin, I just think I have issues with it being oil-based. I wish they would have a water-based serum. Knowing Kiehl’s, a brand that develops really good skin care products ( I swear with them with all my heart – the Blue Herbal line is just love, ), I would get a water-based serum from them in a heartbeat!

I think that this is Holy Grail material, for those who have no trouble with oil-based products. I see really great potential for this for those who have normal and dry skin, and I have no problems recommending it to my friends who have that skin type! Continue reading

Ginnifer Goodwin is My Only Exception

ginnifer1

( photo via highstylenews.com )

I’ve always had preference for long haired styles. ( Gosh I sounded like a guy there. ) I remember someone telling me never to cut my hair short. Well, to be perfectly honest, I looked like an egghead when I had a really short boycut when I was in first year high school. Not the cut’s fault, it was actually my hair’s fault. My hair was just so thick that it poofed up big time.

Beautynomics Takes On the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Diaries Challenge!

MRC DIARIES CHALLENGE

Just last week, I was asked to take on a challenge to improve my skin. With my age ( as I am not getting any younger ), I am in the point that I would do everything to preserve my skin’s youthfulness and try to retard aging. God knows how stress and overworking is taking toll on my skin! I used to be carefree and all and not take anti-aging seriously, but as fine lines under my eyes start creeping in, and maybe laugh lines, I told myself – I had to take action!

It’s just so coincidental that Kiehl’s has asked me to partake on the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Diaries Challenge, as I just recently switched to Kiehl’s skincare.

Kiehl’s Opens in Powerplant Mall!

Kiehl’s is one of the iconic beauty brands in the world that all started in a small apothecary in the East Village of New York City in 1851, and has long been in the commitment of serving quality products. Of course, with its original formulations since then, it has progressive with improving, and innovating its formulations. Since 2007, Kiehl’s has opened its doors to the Philippine market – with branches at Mall of Asia, Alabang, and TriNoma. But don’t you think that there’s always something special about a flagship store in Powerplant Mall? It’s my favorite mall for leisurely shopping, so I was psyched that it has opened in Powerplant already!

Last Friday, I was invited to roam free in the store to check out the selection in Kiehl’s located at the Powerplant Mall. Well, I was a happy roamer, as I dutifully finished all my work, as this was my last frontier for the day. Ending the day filled with beauty products never felt this good!

The Statue of Liberty, with its teeny weeny voice gave out comic remarks to people, but still, we were so amused, that we had photo ops with it! ( it – being the statue, and he, being the person behind the animated statue! Haha! )

VMV Hypoallergenics Now In Singapore!

vmvsingapore

What are the odds that two of my “favorite things” come together?

Singapore is my second home, and I love this country to bits. I feel so free and so happy whenever I visit this wonderful cosmopolitan place. VMV Hypoallergenics, on the other hand, is one of my first loves when it comes to skin care – heck, I believe that it is the first skin care brand that I ever patronized, and blogged about! Now, VMV Hypoallergenics is growing its roots in sunny Singapore, making the world beautiful one country at a time!

To my beautiful Singaporean readers, VMV Hypoallergenics is actually a homegrown brand close to my heart, one of the brands that I’m truly proud of that it was able to expand and make it big in the US, having a flagship store in New York that I’d love to visit one day. Ask me why it got big? You really have to try their products. They’re very mild ( hypoallergenic, as they proudly claim their products are ), and they’re very effective. Must try products must be their skin care line – have your beauty assistant get you the skin care that’s right for you, and for acne sufferers in particular, VMV Hypoallergenics’ ID skin care line definitely did wonders for my skin when I was in my teenage years. Actually, I thought it was my only saving grace! Continue reading

Shu Uemura Tsuya Skin : Reactivate Your Skin’s Youth Power Switch

IMG_2029

Candlelight and soul forever.

IMG_2028

a nice touch to the table setting

Last Saturday was an ideal Saturday night for me as I was able to bond with my beauty blogger friends over a lovely dinner at La Boheme located inside the really posh Picasso Residences in Makati. An intimate, almost dim-lit setting dinner created such perfect mood to talk the night away, just smile, and let the weekend give you the rewards for working so hard the entire week. The event was sponsored by Shu Uemura, that had something interesting to introduce to us that night.

tireless.energetic.passionate.beautiful Shu Uemura team!

With the ever tireless Shu Uemura team working that entire day, orienting VIP customers, press, and bloggers ( for the nightcap! ) about the new product, they were surely looking confident about the new product they were launching. And I know, that they have every reason to be, because I was simply wowed that night.

As we went up the loft upstairs, we initially started goofing around, with the beautiful room arrangement by Shu Uemura : Continue reading

What’s New in the Organic Beauty Scene : Mir & Ryvi Home of Organics Soaps

group-products

When it comes to bath products, hands down, organic products win my heart big time. I love the smell of handmade soaps, and how close their smell is to nature, that I really, really enjoy my showers because of organic soaps!

Who’s the new player in the organic block? It’s Mir & Ryvi!

“We are committed to bringing you the best beauty care products that are naturally formulated and proven safe and effective, while contributing to the development of sustainable local livelihoods.”

“We have conducted intensive research across the globe, consulted with experts and carefully selected suppliers to make sure that we ony use the best plat-based ingredients and essential oils. In the Philippines, we only source our raw fruits and vegetables from organic farms, such as OCCP-certified Laguna Organic Farm and Products. We combine these extracts with other plant-based extracts from abroad, whose effects are scientifically verified and published in scientific journals.”

“We have formulated the best combination of ingredients.”

Sounds good to me! Aside from that, Mir & Ryvi is a brand not just going with the “organic bandwagon,” but really, reiterating their choice to use organic ingredients of synthetic ingredients,

We champion organic extracts not only because they are good for the environment and livelihood of the farmers but also because scientific studies show that organically grown fruits and vegetables have more nutrients than their synthetically grown counterparts. We thus continually foster long term relationships with farmers of organic products.

With that, I am much, much excited to use my products that I feel that are from freshly grown fruits! Mir & Ryvi has three of their best soaps offered to the market, which are available at Beauty Bar. They narrowed down their product line to their three best products,
