Tarte Gilt Trip Lipgloss Set and Mini Cheekstain Set

tarte cosmetics

I was browsing for oh so wonderful gift ideas for Christmas, and I have chanced upon this one at Sephora dot com. For the past few years I’ve been giving away cosmetics as gifts because I’m sure my friends would love it ( I can only imagine them to their dismay if they don’t like my fashion sense Haha! ). This Lipgloss set is a great choice as a gift for the ultimate makeup lover - give her the set, or for your most cherished group of friends who love your makeup but aren’t game for splurging for makeup ( give them 1 lipgloss each, and they’ll love you forever. ). The set of colors look safe and I think that everyone could wear them well. Then…keep that oh so gorgeous gold jewel box all for yourself! Hahaha! You can give two lipglosses each to three friends, or give them one each and save the rest for yourself ( haha, I’m teaching you to maximize your Christmas budget! ) Continue reading

Pick of the Week : Seikisho cleansing Oil

If you’re looking for that great alternative to THE popular cleansing oil, then Seikisho Cleansing Oil would definitely give you great results without splurging too much.

Get the same effect, with a lower price tag. How cool can that be? A perfect substitute, as economists say.

Japanese skin care brand Kose has come up with this impressive makeup remover that draws out impurities, removes makeup, without the drying effects.

Unique oriental ingredients include Pigeon Wheat Essence, Sunflower Oil, and Apricot Seed Oil Extract. Unlike other cleansing oils, they don’t dry up the skin. Skin is smoother, softer, and more radiant !

Overall, I love using this to remove my makeup.

Shiny,Brilliant Hair With Vitamino Color

For the beach babes that just are smitten with the beautiful sunshine, please do make sure that your hair gets the tender loving it gets, specially when it is the most exposed part of the body. Yes, your gorgeous locks can grab attention, but they’re the first to be damaged when the sun strikes.

Another thing to consider is that when your hair is colored. According to my Chemistry class ( woah, from Economist to Chemist? Just this once! ) , once a chemical is exposed to light, or heat, it reacts. In the case of our hair, when colored hair, or even chemically treated hair ( rebond, perm, relax, etc. ) is exposed to sun lights, our hair screams “I’m getting baked, and burned!!! “

A great product to take care coloured or chemically treated hair is the

Loreal - Professionnel Vitamino Color Gel Masque.

EyeShadow Base for Long-Lasting Eye Color

When I reached the advent of my womanhood, I realized that eyeshadows weren’t for the extreme vain only. Eyeshadows further enhance someone’s eyes - make them more dramatic, fun-looking, and pretty. A wide palette of colors are around in the market for the ladies to choose what they think is best for them. But one day, wearing my favorite eyeshadow, I notice, my eyeshadow’s gone by lunch time. What might the reason be?

Splurge VS Save!

With the lean times that are ahead of us, we need to get all our money’s worth. Inflation rates…fluctuating markets…lower purchasing powers. I didn’t just tell you to lower the standards of the beauty products that you are using! I’m just trying to point out that, there are actually products in the market that are actually good, and with a good price too. Sometimes they are even good enough to compete, or even perform just like their high-end counterparts. One can achieve maximum satisfaction with a low budget, if only he/she can have a keen eye for detail in cosmetics / body care :) So , here are my picks, and I hope it does help you have more moolah saved for the rainy days!:)

Home Microdermabrasion Vs. Clinic Microdermabrasion: Perfect Substitutes?

I’ve always wanted smooth, and flawless skin. Thank GOD for modern technology that they can do that to my face in a heartbeat - but with a certain price tag.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is kinda “polishing” your skin - scrubs off old skin cells, to facilitate new and healthy skin cells to grow. It gives you an instant glow, too! Say goodbye to that awful layer of old and dull skin that makes you look old, and say hello to younger skin, tighter pores, and a more refined complexion! Well, that’s basically the aim of microdermabrasion.

Is Vanity a Rational Behavior?

During our first few Microeconomics classes, we were taught the term Rational Behavior. Now, it sounded a whole lot complicated than spelling those two simple words. Rational behavior explains that every person maximizes his utility, given the constraints.

It was quite jargonic for me sometime earlier, relating utility to utility bills? ( bummer, that was embarrassing ), and rational to ratio ( hey, I was straight outta highschool! )
It took me sometime to find out that utility was actually the amount of satisfaction someone gets from a thing, and to behave rationally, as a human being ( check ), one must maximize his/her utility, within the budget.

Can vanity, my greatest sin, pass as a rational behavior of humans? Let’s see.
