MAC Summer Rose Makes Me Bloom!

During one of my very short trips to Manila ( make it two days? argh I miss Manila! ), I was fortunate enough to be able to meet my beauty blogging girlfriends. Just instantly, they commented on how glowing I looked. I had no idea. I felt harassed, tired, but slightly at peace from my Palawan trip.

But really now, you wanna know my secret ? But of course, I’m always willing to share!

It’s MAC Beauty Powder in Summer Rose, from the Rose Romance Collection.

Beautynomics Review : CURE Aqua Gel

I’m such a lucky girl to be living in a country with lotsa, lotsa, lotsa freebies!

First, Singapore has a sampling website called Fr3B, and second, I just got to try one of the awesomest ( is this even considered a word? ) product – CURE Aqua Gel. It’s been well raved about in Japan, with one bottle sold every twenty seconds!

What it is?

Simple and basic product that aids in removing dead skin and old skin cells which normal cleansing products are unable to remove. ( The moisturizing properties of lotion, serum, and moisturizer have a better absorption rate and can penetrate deeper into your pores using CURE)

Beautynomics Review : Colorescience Wild to Mild Skin Bronzer

Mineral makeup will always be my first love. Until now, it’s the only thing that first touches my skin because of the nature of my skin – very acne and blemish prone, open pores, and being oily. My skin is highly sensitive to pore-clogging products, so I could have none of the traditional makeup, specially with foundation. With eyeshadow and blushes, sometimes I can, as long as it’s mineral makeup that touches my skin first, much like a base.

Colorescience is a luxe mineral makeup brand that was created by Diane Ranger, also founder of Bare Escentuals. This brand has so much promise, and has even earned Dr. Zein Obagi‘s thumbs up because it truly compliments dermatologist treatments, instead of hindering the rejuvenative process, in which what traditional makeup really does – ruin the dermatologists’ work by clogging pores, and damaging the skin. The science of today is just amazing – whoever thought that there would be some kind of makeup that would actually help skin get better and not damage it?

Bloomwoodized : Luckiest Girl In Orchard Road Gets Her Suisse Lip Repair Complex!

Yesterday, I was the luckiest girl in Orchard Road. At least I felt, I was! My eyes were sparkling all the time!

Okay, when you see the word “Orchard Road,” you would know that this is shopping-related right? Okay, I am speaking like Becky Bloomwood again! Thing is, Confessions of A Shopaholic is not even shown here, and is due on the 27th! But its shopaholic vibe is just driving me mad!

Okay, so here’s why – I’ll tell you how it goes ( storytelling time! ).

Rewind 2 weeks before Sunday – it was a very rainy day as my classmates and I sought some refuge inside Wisma Atria Mall, specifically inside SaSa, just only about my favorite spot in that mall. As I was checking beauty products, just browsing around, a very kind saleslady asked me what I needed. I was actually feeling problematic about my lips for a couple of weeks already since they were chapping so bad. They weren’t visibly dry or wounded, but I could feel the tightness around my lip area, and it was a bit painful specially when you apply lipstick on it. I felt that all the previous lip products I’ve used were not effective on me, but surprisingly work miracles for others – like Kiehl’s lip balm!

Anyway, she accompanied me to the sale section with some normal-looking lipbalms, and I said, ” I want something more intensive.” She nodded and showed me the brand Suisse, a very good and high end Swiss beauty brand, and they had Suisse Lip Repair Complex. I pumped some product, and swiped it on my lips to test, and as I saw the pricetag at 119 sgd, I told her that I’ll let the product sit on my lips and wait for results as I walk around the mall. For a lunchtime shopping spree, I didn’t feel like splurging that much, despite the GST-free shopping promotion that day.

It’s Dreamtime With Earth Therapeutics!

Just tell me, what are dreams made of?

At the end of every exhausting day, may it be from school, work, or play, I think everyone’s wish is to have a blissful sleep to prepare themselves for another bright, and happy day. Sleep is considered a luxury nowadays, as some people don’t get enough sleep, can’t sleep, or can’t sleep well.

I consider my bed as my ultimate favorite spot on earth. It’s where I rest my body, mind, and soul, as I say goodbye to every good or bad day, recharging, looking forward to another day. It is where I surrender and close my eyes. It is my sanctuary, and my happy place. During rainy days, I’d love to stay in bed all day and just be all comfortable and lazy.

While I was packing for my Singapore stay a few months ago, I was getting worried because I, for sure, will be missing my bed, and will be sleeping somewhere foreign , not being sure if I will be comfortable or not. I remember way before, whenever I sleep in someone else’s house, I just could not sleep comfortably as it were not my bed.

While preparing for my Singapore stay, I got myself products that would help me sleep. Being a huge, huge fan of Earth Therapeutics that smelled heavenly, and definitely helped me de-stress, I got myself two products – Elixir of Dreams Pillow Mist, and Dream Zone Comfort Cream.

Beautynomics Shopping : The Face Shop Essential Source 100 Hyaluronic Acid

I was just walking around Parkway Parade Mall in the East Coast area of Singapore, just window shopping and not planning on buying anything except for that lovely Giant supermarket at the top floor. I was helping my friend Dee check out BB creams, and as we walked in The Face Shop to check their BB Cream, I was browsing through products, and this box caught my eye :

Hyaluronic Acid. Do you know that anything with hyaluronic acid catches my eye? I literally stopped, and took a good look at it. I feel that it is the wonder ingredient in beauty products that helps skin retain moisture, and regain and maintain youth.

Singaporean Beauty Loot : My New MAC Loves

It’s one thing to wear your face bare, and your flatmates couldn’t care much on how you look ( except if something drastic shows up ), but it’s another thing as you go out of the house, do your stuff, as the world is watching you!

Well, as soon as I landed in Singapore, yes, within a few hours , I went to the place I called home – Tang’s, in Orchard Road. I love, love the MAC Cosmetics display there the most. I remember meeting Renee there for the first time, and my goal in my self imposed vacation right now, is to check out all the beauty stops here!

My new MAC loves? Continue reading

Sparkling Holiday Makeup Is In!

I have to admit that my favorite kind of makeup is satiny matte in texture, as I am very fond of neutrals, and natural looks. But with the holiday season kicking in, there’s no stopping me from shining! With sparkly makeup, that is!

Sparkly, ethereal, glowy, and angelic makeup is very much in for the holidays, so an added dose of shimmer or glitter to the makeup is definitely excusable, and even looks very very festive, fun, and not over the top – for the season, that is! Also, the weather is cold, and it’s not too uncomfortable wearing makeup, so tis the season to be experimental and makeup-happy! After all, there are so much parties instore that we can sport different looks, as we please!

Here are some loots I have from Artdeco that are just …fulla fulla sparkle that I would surely be using for this brrrr, festive, lovely Christmas season!

Beautynomics Weekend Story : Bottles Half Full

This beauty blog started because of recommendations. My friends would ask me what products they should buy for this and that. I loved doing it so much that I, well, started a beauty blog! ( the perfect excuse just to stay inside the beauty section of the mall, and just stare at those beautiful things ). I was thinking, everyone loves the weekends, specially me, as they are free to go out, play, and most importantly, SHOP! So, as a treat to my readers, I shall be writing a Friday special called Beautynomics Weekend Story. Weekend stories would include product recommendations, reader questions ( please do send them in! ), some random rants and raves, and sneak previews of what products are going to be reviewed in Beautynomics in the coming days.

To start off, I’d like to share my story for the weekend, with Bottles Half Full. These are products that I love, love, love and I use all the time that they are half-full already, and ready for repurchasing soon!

Leyende’s Beach Bomb Fragrance Makes Me Smell Like Summer Forever

I’d be totally honest and tell you that rainy days are not my thing. I know how comforting it is to sleep under such chilly weather, but summer is just my favorite, favorite season of the year. As soon as Christmas is about done, my mind takes a fast forward drift as I consider February as summer!

Anyway, Leyede‘s new fragrance, called Beach Bomb, fixes me in a trance that makes me feel like summer forever. Its fresh fragrance takes me my mind to the beach to savor the fresh, unforgettable breeze. Sigh.
