The Beautynomist Loves Elseve Smooth Intense Hair Masque!

With the merciless way that I have treated my hair for the past few weeks, I think it deserved a break. Yesterday as I was strolling at the mall, I almost jumped in glee when I saw pots of L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Hair Masque. God, I’ve been dying to try it, but my best friend just keeps on forgetting to give me the pot that she bought for me! Haha! I couldn’t wait any longer, so I grabbed the pot, and hit checkout ( woops, in the real world, went to the counter, and paid for it ).

Lately, I have understood what it meant by “tangled” hair. My hair seems fine, but everytime I would run through my hair, it would get stuck, or something. Blame it on the shampoo that I’ve been using - I think it was too harsh, but heck, I had to use it. Now, I have to say byebye to it and say hello to my new Elseve shampoo ( that would be reviewed in another entry ) and Hair Masque. My Kerastase Oleo Relax Hair Masque pot is already empty, and I got intrigued by the statements of others that Elseve is as good as Kerastase. Being an absolute Kerastase fanatic ( to the point that I requested that brand for my OJT ), I decided to use this hair masque , and roadtest away!

Elizabeth Arden Intervene Moisture Eye Cream

They say that eye eyes are the first ones to age, and I agree, and add that I believe that it is the most delicate part of the face. I mean, my skin is all oily ( like a whole gasoline station’s worth of contents ), but whenever I’d wash my face, I could always feel my lid area and undereye area significantly dry, and it bothers me. To add to the problem, I also have a penchant of sleeping late, so I’ve had dark undereye circles for sometime, which is always successfully camouflaged by makeup. So I said to myself, it’s about time to use an eye cream to save my face!

I was given a chance to try the Elizabeth Arden Intervene Moisture Eye Cream. An anti-aging procrastinator like me loves things like these, as it is equipped with Biodormin technology, that helps minimize the look of existing lines and dark circles as it noticeably firms and smooths skin’s appearance. I didn’t have lines yet, and I never would want them in my life, so this is a relief! Continue reading

Benefit’s Realness of Concealness

I’ll let you in a little secret - I can’t live, I mean I really can’t live without concealers. They’re my secret weapons! ( Oops, I just divulged! ). One of my problems is my undereyes - I’m an insomniac, I hardly get any sleep ( though I really, really try! ), and I could, and would not get out of the house without concealing that problem area!

For the girl like me who wants her eyes to look as fresh, bright, and mimick ( or fake ) a good night’s sleep, Benefit’s Realness of Concealness is simply heaven-sent. It has bundled together travel sizes of Benefit’s famous, and extremely fool-proof concealers for the eye -

Eva Longoria - Tony Parker Wedding

eva longoria wedding

When I watched The Insider awhile ago, I got to watch some clips of my favorite Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria and NBA hotshot Tony Parker’s wedding. What drew my attention was definitely Eva Longoria’s eye makeup in that particular clip, for I saw soft, but smoky purple there. That further made me search for more of her wedding pictures in the internet .

Pick of the Week : Skinceuticals Affect Daily SPF 20

skinceuticals affect sunscreen I’ve been avoiding sunscreens for like, forever. Why ? First, because I feel that they’re icky and sticky. Second, I feel that they would make my skin oilier. Third, they don’t jive well with makeup. Either they don’t glide well, or I get this white cast on my picture when I wear sunscreen. All those thoughts banished from my memory effective a week ago, the moment I tried Skinceuticals Affect Daily SPF 20.

I’ve opted buying moisturizers with sunscreen with the hope of skipping applying sunscreen - I’ve been doing this for ages. When the PR for Skinceuticals contacted me for a review for Melanoma May, I kept an open mind despite my initial thoughts about wearing sunscreen. Heck, I only wear sunscreen on the face when I go to the beach, when it is most crucial, and it didn’t feel good!

Nail Care Must Have : Sally Hansen Complete Care 4 in 1 Treatment

sally hansen nail polish
For the past month, I’ve started experimenting with my nails. My bare, unpolished, and short nails have been my personal guinea pig as I explored the world of groomed, and polished nails. Thanks to my best buds who have great looking nails, I’ve been inspired to learn more about nail care.

But it wasn’t easy. I’ve been to hell and back with my bad habit of self experimentation! In the span of my experimentation, I had my nails turn yellow ( *sob*, good thing I sought help from my nail expert fellow blogger ), saw my polish chipped, and had pillow marks on my polish. I’ve devoured beauty blogs devoted to nail care ( a big shout out to Nailtech Secrets and All Lacquered Up ), and learned how to explore color. Some more experimentation, and I think I am ready to write my own nail care guide Continue reading

Rave of the Week : Aromaleigh Eyeshadow Primer and Base

aromaleigh eyeshadow primer and base I could just go on and on on how much I love Aromaleigh products. Their Pure Shine Glosses are the best, as well as their lipsticks ( review, in a week! ), and I’m just happy to have stumbled upon their Eyeshadow Primer and Base!

With my dried out and nonfunctional Urban Decay Primer Potion that lasted a year on me, I was a very sad Beautynomist. It’s like, my pet that died. It’s so precious, and hard to find, and I couldn’t get one immediately because it isn’t available here. So, I was contemplating if I should get a MAC Shadestick, but the price just makes me flinch - I don’t know why. Usually I’m not particular about the price of the product, since I’m always game for quality, I just don’t know why in this case , I didn’t feel like buying MAC anytime soon though I really wanted to.

So…? Sinful Fragrance

so...?sinful fragrance Lately, I have been on a fragrance hunt. Further inspired by what Star ( Bembet ) left on my comments box, that Coco Chanel said, ““A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.”. So, that left me alarmed, since I badly needed a future! Hahaha! Kidding aside, fragrances just give our olfactory senses some delight, and it’s way better than smelling either nothing ( aka neutral ) or something bad ! Hahaha ( okay, I’m still joking around ). Okay, I think this is an expensive addiction if ever I will be addicted to fragrances, or should it be?

I was given the chance to sample So…Sinful Fragrance in Eau de Toilette. First, I was astounded by the price tag. It was just around $8 ( around 450 Php ) for a 20 ml bottle. I was like..whaaaat? Usually, I don’t expect much from fragrances within that price range. I mean, I have had bad experiences with low-priced fragrances. Sometimes their scents disappear from the senses within minutes, but that’s okay - but one thing that’s worse than that is that they actually turn bad, I mean really smell nasty ! Argh!
