Sparkling Holiday Makeup Is In!

I have to admit that my favorite kind of makeup is satiny matte in texture, as I am very fond of neutrals, and natural looks. But with the holiday season kicking in, there’s no stopping me from shining! With sparkly makeup, that is!

Sparkly, ethereal, glowy, and angelic makeup is very much in for the holidays, so an added dose of shimmer or glitter to the makeup is definitely excusable, and even looks very very festive, fun, and not over the top - for the season, that is! Also, the weather is cold, and it’s not too uncomfortable wearing makeup, so tis the season to be experimental and makeup-happy! After all, there are so much parties instore that we can sport different looks, as we please!

Here are some loots I have from Artdeco that are just …fulla fulla sparkle that I would surely be using for this brrrr, festive, lovely Christmas season!

Beautynomics Weekend Story : Bottles Half Full

This beauty blog started because of recommendations. My friends would ask me what products they should buy for this and that. I loved doing it so much that I, well, started a beauty blog! ( the perfect excuse just to stay inside the beauty section of the mall, and just stare at those beautiful things ). I was thinking, everyone loves the weekends, specially me, as they are free to go out, play, and most importantly, SHOP! So, as a treat to my readers, I shall be writing a Friday special called Beautynomics Weekend Story. Weekend stories would include product recommendations, reader questions ( please do send them in! ), some random rants and raves, and sneak previews of what products are going to be reviewed in Beautynomics in the coming days.

To start off, I’d like to share my story for the weekend, with Bottles Half Full. These are products that I love, love, love and I use all the time that they are half-full already, and ready for repurchasing soon!

Leyende’s Beach Bomb Fragrance Makes Me Smell Like Summer Forever

I’d be totally honest and tell you that rainy days are not my thing. I know how comforting it is to sleep under such chilly weather, but summer is just my favorite, favorite season of the year. As soon as Christmas is about done, my mind takes a fast forward drift as I consider February as summer!

Anyway, Leyede’s new fragrance, called Beach Bomb, fixes me in a trance that makes me feel like summer forever. Its fresh fragrance takes me my mind to the beach to savor the fresh, unforgettable breeze. Sigh.

Father’s Day Gift Idea : Every Man Jack Beginner’s Luck Kit

I mean seriously, I don’t really know what else to give my family and friends other than beauty products. I guess it’s just me being at the peak of my thoughtfulness since beauty is my passion, anyway. My father is no exception. If it’s not a sturdy pair of flipflops, it’s either perfume or body scrubs. Gosh, I could go on forever on how I would use my really sweet tone on my dad just to make him use a body scrub! Men used to be low-maintenance and just grab the nearest bar of soap available, but now, there’s just this trend that they are taking care of themselves more and more ( which is a good thing ), and what’s a better way than celebrating that?

Every Man Jack Beginner’s Luck Kit is a gift set that is perfect for Father’s day. It’s a product bundle of Every Man Jack’s signature products that will fill up your dad’s product space in the shower, and in the vanity area.

Brighten My Day, YSL Touche Eclat!

I’ve been endlessly intrigued by this cult favorite, that claims to be the miracle product for the hopelessly cursed with the case of the bad undereye circles. I first read about this when I borrowed bestbud A’s book, “How To Walk In High Heels,” that recommends YSL Touche Eclat as a must-have for every woman!

Well, YSL Touche Eclatmeans a touch of radiance, and it promises to banish undereye circles, and highlights subtlely areas that you want to contour or give attention to. It was a walk in the clouds as my friend D flew to Manila, from Singapore, as she gave me one as a gift ( thanks , D! )

Fantastic Deal : Cargo Blu Ray Collection

What I love most about Sephora is that when they offer gift sets or collections, the prices will just make you buy. Period. They bundle products into a collection, and slash almost 50% off the pricetag. First, I’ve bought Smashbox’s Master’s Class Collection ( Vol. 1 - Smoky Eyes Set ) , and now, my recent purchase is Cargo Blu Ray Collection. The set sells for $59, but all products, when added up, totals to $130.

Set includes a pressed powder, a blush/highlighter, a mascara, and a primer, and a lipgloss quad.

Get Soft Kissable Lips with Tarte FRXtion

Exfoliation must be my number one beauty term as I cannot stress enough on how it is one important part of keeping the skin soft, smooth, and lookin` brand new. I’ve endlessly blabbered on facial scrubs, body scrubs, and now, how about a lip scrub?

L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Serum

If I were asked to handpick one single product from the entire L’Oreal Elseve line, I’d pick the L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Serum in a heartbeat.

I truly believe that it is the best, and really, the best hair serum I’ve ever tried.

If Kerastase Oleo Relax Masque is my Holy Grail intensive conditioner, then the L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Serum is my Holy Grail hair serum that is just perfect for my frizzy hair.

I remember one time when my hair was newly cut, and it was flying away in all directions ( horrible, horrible time of adjustment, let me tell you ), I had to use the hair iron to make sure my hair was in good shape before I left the house. One really busy evening, whilst I was late for a dinner date and my hair wasn’t dry yet, I applied some L’Oreal Smooth Intense Serum on my damp hair, concentrating on the tips, steering away from the roots ( as they make make my hair limp ), as I rushed off.

Lo and behold, as I arrived just in time for dinner, my friends were complimenting me on my new ‘do, saying that it wasn’t as stick straight as before, and they loved how my hair was still bouncy but not frizzy. ( For the record, my hair’s layered right now, teehee ). I was pleasantly surprised because I didn’t expect the serum to work that way - it made the tips of my hair manageable, and made my hair look neat and well-maintained.

Who Doesn’t Need To Perm Her Hair?

I just wanted to share something about my day!

This girl was one of my clients during the Mineral Makeup Weekend.

The conversation went like this,

Me : Hey , nice curls.
Her : Thank you it’s natural.
Me : Are you serious? No perm?
Her : No, I got it from my grandma.
Me : Are you absolutely serious that you have that naturally gloriously goldilocks hair?
Her : Yes, I tried to use hair iron to straighten it before.
Me : With a hair like that, DO NOT USE HAIR IRON!
