Beautynomics Review : Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla

bobbi brown long wear shadow stick

I really love eyeshadow primers. They’re just the idea of heaven for those who have oily lids like me. Heck, even my eyebrows have oil glands that I need really waterproof eyebrow pens, eyeliners, and even eyeshadow primers. I need makeup products to stay put, and trust me, it’s not cheap. I think my skin’s just too demanding and challenging. *pouts*

For reference, before we go further, I’m defining what eyeshadow primers are. Eyeshadow primers are what you apply on your lids just right before you apply your eyeshadow, to make the eyeshadow “stick” to the primer, and remain there, preventing oxidation, and oiling up of lids which can make the eyeshadow run all over your lids ( which is messy ). Eyeshadow primers can actually be concealer, but they’re just too moisturizing. A good eyeshadow primer is usually sort of a cream with not much moisture, a bit dry, to help the eyeshadow just stick on the lids, and just stay put there. For me, it’s imperative to get one if you’re into eye makeup. It gives you security!

I’ve been using Urban Decay Primer Potion, and as much as I love it, and I know how effective it is, I can’t help but have some difficulty getting it in the Philippines. It’s also a bit hard and sorta tricky to blend eyeshadows with the Primer Potion. But then, I’ve always thought that it’s the only thing that works, so I just stayed faithful to it for years. I’ve had tubes of Urban Decay Primer Potion all used up and some just dried from time, I think I’ve used more than 5 tubes in this lifetime already.

But then something came along that made me change my mind about things.

Yes, this! The Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla is my new HG Eyeshadow Primer. Continue reading

MAC Fashionflower Collection : Growing Trend Lipstick

Fashionflower-Lipstick-GrowingTrend-72

I think that the first makeshift nude lipstick was just a dab of concealer on the lips. For eye makeup that’s too dark, it was a rule that only one feature should stand out, and features should not compete for attention. Although that rule has been slowly been challenged by daring makeup artists ( and those looud looks are pulled off quite well, too ), nothing beats the classic nude lipstick. It will always be there, waiting for its perfect time to shine – or rather, tone one feature down to make way for another to stand out! Continue reading

DSC_4312

How’s this for Easter egg hunting for the beauty addicts? haha!

With the relaxing, and yet contemplative weekend that just passed, I don’t even know if I’m ready to face the work week ahead of me. But well, I must, I must! We all have seasons to reach for the stars, we also have the right time to slow down and just have that luxury to rest!

Yesterday was Easter Sunday, and boy, do I have really fond memories of painting Easter eggs, and that really fun Easter egg hunting! Now that I’m all grown up ( heehee am I really? ) , I have my own Easter eggs to play with – in the form of these three lovely EOS lipbalms!

Because Mommies Need Their Beauty Fix Too

I have my mom to be thankful for my being such a beauty lover. She owned a salon when I was a little kid, and with her being my ultimate inspiration, I wanted to be like her one day, and thus, fast forward to the present day, I make it a point to shower her with so much cosmetics, and beauty products that she doesn’t even need to buy them ( well, just the occasional body wash products that she’s crazy about! )

Girls are girls, and girls like all things beautiful, and make them look and feel beautiful. I’m so sure that your mom will love getting a beauty loot this coming Sunday, Mother’s Day, so here are suggestions from Elianto,

Elianto’s Eyeshadow Set for mom’s has four delectable eyeshadow shades with a spring inspired refillable palette. Comes with elianto’s bestselling Rose Cleansing Tissue – all packed in a metallic satin cosmetic bag. Definitely eye catching for this mother’s day! Available at P699.

Daughter Sophie’s Note : This is for the mom who’s experimental about makeup, or the mom who wears regularly, perhaps for work. This is great, because you can always remind your moms at the end of the day to remove their makeup with the Rose Cleansing Tissue, before retiring to bed.

Beautynomics Lookbook : MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga Lipstick

Gaga. Enough said.

Oh, doesnt the MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga Lipstick look beautiful?

Blue-toned pale pink. One of the most gorgeous nude pinks that I’ve ever seen. Pink nudes are just a sassier variety of the nude lipsticks that go on like pale peach. This one’s perfect for a smoky eye, or heavy eye makeup, but this doesn’t mean that it tones down the entire look. It fails to give way to attention to the eye makeup – it actually earns a second look because of the lips!

Okay, for Beautynomics readers who have requested for looks? I’ve been trying to play with my camera, and I will continue to be doing so. So bear with me , thru thick and thin, the images you are about to see. Haha!

Beauty at the Grammy Awards 2010 : Miley Cyrus

Grammy Awards 2010 - RED CARPET

Oh, Hannah Montana, how grown up you’ve become!

Miley Cyrus, aside from being my baby sisters’ favorite actress, earns my love on her stunning get-up for the Grammy Awards 2010. The Herve Leger dress is true love, paired with gladiator heels. Very youthful, and yet very fashionista!

ageLOC: Unlocking the Secret to Ageless Skin

Nu Skin has been extremely close to my heart, and I’ve been using Nu Skin products ever since I was in highschool. Straying from it and trying other brands because of budget constraints proved more costly, as my acne worsened further, and now that I’m all healed and happy with Obagi Clenziderm, I’m now back on maintenance mode. I need mild, and gentle cleansers and water-based moisturizers. I need good serums for anti-aging and great eyecreams to salvage the stressful eyes-syndrome manifested in my peepers.

My friend Lorraine has been all excited about telling me about Nu Skin’s revolutionary new product that would be launched this July in the Philippines, called ageLOC. ageLOC is Nu Skin’s promise to take us to the fountain of youth,

Nu Skin is taking the science of anti-aging to a completely new level by studying the genetic origins of how and why we age.

Developed by Nu Skin in collaboration with leading scientists, ageLOC science is based on the discovery of internal sources of aging that contribute to an aging appearance, what Nu Skin calls age-related super markers, or arSuperMarkers.

Nu Skin’s exclusive ageLOC science targets these arSuperMarkers—the ultimate sources of aging that can influence how we age.

Based on this discovery, Nu Skin is able to identify critical arSuperMarkers called Youth Gene Clusters, which are functional groups of genes that regulate how we appear to age. Only ageLOC ’s proprietary science understands how to reset these Youth Gene Clusters to their youthful patterns of activity.

This revolutionary discovery is based upon Nu Skin’s exclusive collaborations with leading scientists around the globe, millions of dollars in development, and years of combined anti-aging and genetic research.

OF COURSE. Who am I to resist this? Resetting the Youth Gene Clusters? Targetting the source of aging? Music to my ears! I’ve been looking for a great anti-aging skin care that would help make my look youthful and well-hydrated, but still keep my skin acne-free. I know, it’s tricky. I’ve been wanting to religiously indulge myself in an anti-aging regimen, but the products on the market somehow conflict with my anti-acne maintenance. Alot of anti-aging products out there are not water-based, which makes it a problem for me. Knowing that Nu Skin products are water-based, and do not react and make my skin break out, I immediately set aside my budget for a new phone, without much regret, as Lorraine informed me that she was able to obtain two sets, and immediately purchased it from her on the spot. This might just be the answer to my problems!

Okay, let’s peek into the contents of my ageLOC Transformation Premium Package Set, okay?

Happy Halloween from Juliet and MAC Style Black!

This is a post 2 days overdue, but hey, my baby sister Juliet exerted some effort, so I’m going to show it off!

Juliet turned one of our rooms here in the house into a Halloween party place last weekend. I wasn’t there to experience it, but my sisters told me that she painted fangs and did her makeup herself. Goodness. Haha! But then, before I left for Boracay, I was able to create a black lip on her, as she stuffed her face with white baby powder. Black lipstick is the sole mattene lipstick from MAC Cosmetics’ Style Black Collection. Pretty, isn’t it? Think of this as her “warm-up” for Halloween. Better luck next year, I hope I can take photos during the actual partay. Haha!

What’s New : Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer

Admittedly, I have been hooked with Make Up For Ever products ever since I studied in their academy in Singapore. But ultimately, I have become so hooked with their HD line, because the line is truly, truly good. The HD Liquid Foundation is the perfect base, the HD Microfinish Powder gives that impossibly smooth finishing touch to any makeup ( not to mention extremely photogenic ), the HD kabuki brush is simply divine, and I am awaiting to try the HD Elixir to arrive in Asia, as I want to see how it works with wrinkles, fine lines, and dry skin. But even before the HD Elixir is out here, Make Up For Ever launches another excellent addition to their HD line : the HD Invisible Cover Concealer.
