Scuba Diving Is My New Love, and Summer Essentials For Sea Adventures!

johnong1

ugh, look at my hair here, and my bare face! Funny, I still managed to pose! =))))

Perhaps this must be my most unglamorous photos in my entire life being posted in public, but somehow, I don’t mind. I was surprised at myself with that reaction, with me, having that need to always look good and presentable anywhere. I think I know why I didn’t mind being part of a Dealgrocer ad, with my hair all disheveled, and drenched in hair-killing saltwater, and me sans the makeup and even my eyebrows ( ack!!! diving after one hour erases even the most waterproof eyebrow makeup! ) .

johnong2

makeup-less, but I am at my happiest. One of those times when I say, “I don’t care how I look like.” I’m happy playing Little Mermaid underwater, with my tank and paraphernalia. Hahahaha!

I am happy. Scuba diving makes me really, really happy. Continue reading

Instagram and an Angel Saved The Day!

Today, I almost lost my phone. I think I spaced out for a moment and forgot that I left it at a certain place. I mean, during this day and time, once you leave something as important and as valuable as a mobile phone, you immediately deem it gone, right? It might be picked up by someone, and it will never be back in your hands again.

But then, this experience just made me see some things differently.

Just awhile ago, as Tara and were on our way to our next event today, my other phone rang, my sister telling me that I left my phone at Jamba Juice. I was like, “I wasn’t at Jamba Juice?”, but as I checked my bag for my other phone, it wasn’t there. Darnit. This doesn’t happen everyday, and this has never ever happened before, so I was even more disoriented about what happened, but it was just my lucky day that the person who was able to adopt my phone for a few hours was actually a really kind soul. This is what happened –

Apparently, my phone was found inside the restroom just near Jamba Juice. I was trying to backtrack what made me forget my phone – I think I was just applying loose powder in front of the mirror. Apparently, Angela ( the one who found my phone ) found it in the restroom, and told me that it was “just there.” As my phone was locked, but it was on 3g, and I always had that habit posting photos immediately, Angela saw some of the likers of my photos, and tagged them on Instagram :

okay, who’s vain. me. haha!

Whiterlies ( Hannah – thank you dear for being so active in Insta!!!! and for calling Straw! ) is my sister’s close friend from high school, and made the call to my sister, and my sister called me. Tara and I, nearing Shangri-la already, went back to the Fort again to meet Angela. I was actually embarrassed that Angela and her friend were waiting for me to arrive there to hand me my phone. She even asked me for my secret code to verify my identity, which was actually really cool.

Starting The New Year Right With My New SOS Beauty Kit!

Ahhhh. The New Year brings about so much promises. Fresh beginnings. Promises of a better you. I think we’ve all used up the last few days of 2012 to reflect, and see how we can do better the following year. Agree?

I’ve always been a big believer of beauty kits. I do, actually have two of them inside my bag sometimes! I feel that really unprepared for battle sort of vibe whenever I fail to bring my beauty kit, as I always want to look my best whenever I go out for work or for play. It’s important to feel secure, knowing that you have backup products with you whenever you go!

Let me share with you the lovely, thoughtful gift that Closeup has sent me last December. This is a set that has been carefully picked by the best beauty editors in the country. Knowing that we beauty-loving girls already have our must-haves in our own beauty kit, these are some of the things that are pleasant add-ons just in case of beauty emergencies :

Thank You, 2012!

2012 must be the most controversial year in history. I’ve researched on this year for as long as I can remember. Perhaps I started geeking bout this year the moment I had internet ( highschool? ). The Mayans predicted the world to end on 2012, too much movies as products of fantasies and fear about 2012 and even beyond, but here we are, beyond December 21, 2012, all looking forward to a bright 2013.

2012 was a phenomenal year for me. Of course, there were ups and downs, but I choose to see the better things that happened to me this year and be thankful for it. I know, I haven’t been blogging so much this year, but I do promise that this 2013, I will definitely be giving you your dose of Beautynomics ( I really promise to do so!!! )

Let me share with you my greatest 2012 moments, that I might have not shared in this blog. But it’s never too late to do so, right? So let me fill you in with what truly made my 2012 worthwhile, and really happy. This is actually a mix of business and life-related happenings this 2012!

She’s all grown up :)

Sugar’s 18th.

I think that Beautynomics readers know Sarabeth/Sugar, as she has been my test bunny in all my makeup endeavors. She has been most cooperative, trusting me with her two proms, from her gowns to her makeup, and I truly am grateful. I am such a proud sister, that this little kid who used to be that talkative, English-speaking cutie has blossomed into a beautiful lady. She is now in college, frequently burning the midnight oil with nonstop studying ( gotta commend that ) , so we’re now talking about eye creams for her undereye circles, and skincare. She is also starting to do her own makeup, one day at a time. She might not be kikay like me, but I will definitely guide her in at least polishing her makeup, and her looks in the years to come!

Bobbi Brown Holiday Gift Giving Collection

GiftGivingH12Group__Global_FH12_RGB

“These palettes embrace the holiday spirit of gift giving with fun and festive shades.”
– Bobbi Brown

One thing that I love about Bobbi Brown products is that it reflects Bobbi Brown’s personality. All the releases this year made me think, “hey, this is totally functional!”, and I could definitely use all of them on an everyday basis. Bobbi Brown is all about versatility and classic beauty. All their products can be used for almost all occasions, from day to night. So this Holiday season, this is me again, all excited for Bobbi Brown’s Holiday Gift Giving Collection, because she just seems to be so thoughtful, that all her products included in this collection are 100% sure-loves to the recipient! Imagine, a really complete Bellini Lip & Eye Palette? Well-coordinated Rich Caviar and Black Pearl Palettes? Super-gorgeous Uber Nude Lip & Eye Palette? Gosh, everything is just so well thought of, and would incite the reaction, “hey, this is what I need!” or “this has everything I need!”

No further words your honor. Just one. Smitten! Continue reading

Try Before You Buy with Sample Room Ph

I know, I’ve been quiet lately, so I think you, my Beautynomics readers, deserve an explanation.

This last quarter of 2012 has been the busiest year of my life. I’ve never been this busy, this lacking sleep, and this always skipping meals. But hello, would I trade the world for it? I certainly won’t!

Let me share with you what I’ve been very busy with :

Sample Room Cover

Sample Room. My baby.

Sample Room. Sample Room is a fruition of four friends’ advocacy for Tryvertising. Try before you buy. We want to give the power to the consumers. Breast Cancer Awareness Month : Believe in a World Without Breast Cancer

ELC 2012 BCA Campaign (PR Visual)

I know nothing about breast cancer. Really.

I don’t have anyone in my family who has had that battle with it, neither do I have any relatives who suffered from it. I don’t have anyone in my immediate circle who has it, who had it, and who battled with it.

But that doesn’t mean that I am not affected.

This is about loss. This is about suffering. This is about our loved ones, and ourselves. No one is safe from it, it’s a random twist of fate to anyone. It’s a matter of life and death, and I care about it. I care about my loved ones. We only live once, and I am determined to cherish my loved ones for as long as I can, be with them as long as I can, and spend more time with them, if I could be able to make that choice.

God bless Evelyn H. Lauder of the Estee Lauder Group of Companies, who has spearheaded, and first launched the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on 1992. During that time, 44,000 women in the US were dying from breast cancer, and the condition was something not widely talked about. It was a curse to be suffered alone, no support groups were present at that time. Evelyn Lauder pushed, and pushed to spread awareness about breast cancer, and stress that early detection can save lives. All throughout Evelyn Lauder’s life, until she passed away last November, she used her place in society, being a Lauder, to make breast cancer awareness a worthy cause, and aimed to raise funds for research to find the cure, and prevention for breast cancer.
