MAC 187 Stippling Brush

mac 187 brushIf I were to choose a precious Christmas gift, this brush would be it. I have been debating with myself whether I should get this or not, because I am somewhat satisfied with my kabuki brushes here at home. And yet, the raves that I have been reading about in various forums and review sites are much too loud to turn a deaf ear to. Some claim that it is their Holy Grail Brush, and this tool helps their foundations, liquid or dry, glide in effortlessly perfect on their skin, making it look totally airbrushed. Some have ignored the hefty price tag associated with this brush because of the impressive quality. But still, some are quite hesitant - what if it wouldn’t work on them? Thus, they are looking for some alternatives which are more lower-priced. Continue reading

Sephora’s Best of 2006 ( Makeup )

Sephora has come up with their Best Products for 2006, and I must say, I’m happy with my product bets getting in the list, and I am also very curious and tempted to buy those which I haven’t even had the chance of trying them yet!

The list is as follows :

nars orgasm

Best in Cheeks

Best Blush - NARS Orgasm

NARS Orgasm is the universally flattering shade for all women. It has won tons of awards for being best blush already, and it’s still standing as strong as ever!

Best Bronzer - Stila Sun

No Stila in my area. Rumor has it that the company that operates Watsons will be bringing Sephora here soon. Whoopee! Stila shopping spree, here I come! I’m still more excited about Stila’s lipstuff though.

My Ultimate Vanity Wishlist!

Yes, yes, yes! Sweet SeptemBER is already here, and the countdown for Christmas begins!!! I’m Ber-ry giddy, happy, and jolly because the festive atmosphere is about to grace our lives again! Well, as inspired by my blog buddy BlogforBeauty’s weekly wishlist, I will post my monthly Ber-month wishlist, and it begins NOW!

Well, I’ll post three items that I badly want to cuddle with me during the Holidays! ( what a weird thought. Haha. )

t3 tourmaline hair iron1. T3 Tourmaline Professional Ionic Iron With Rounded Plates

Gosh, I am so inlove with this hair iron! It’s earned so much raves, even from the Beautyaddict herself *bow*. I love the fact that there are such hair irons that don’t damage the hair, since years ago, my hair was literally fried with my first dose of hair iron use. I also love the fact that it heats up pretty fast, because I absolutely hate down time!

Blinc Kiss Me Heated Eyelash Curler

kiss me heated eyelash curlerI’ve always been intrigued by heated eyelash curlers. They’re a hit all over Asia. My cousin in Hong Kong sells them on Ebay, and claims that they’re really bestsellers. I’ve been staying true with my conventional eyelash curler, but this product I’ve found on Beautyofasite makes me wonder what it feels to be on the “other side”.

The Blinc Kiss Me Heated Eyelash Curler is simply a must-have in anyone’s purse, or overnight vanity kit because of its compact design. For those who have poker straight eyelashes, this is your ultimate savior!

Makeup Train Cases- Housing my Collection

Often I see makeup artists carry these everywhere they go - this must be their version of attache cases in their profession. I am always in awe whenever I see their swoonworthy collection of makeup - countless arrays of eyeshadows ( my ultimate eyecandy is seeing palettes of these! ), blushes, foundations - creamy or powdery, lipsticks, ahh…this is too much! This just goes to show that I dream of being a makeup artist one day. Well not by profession , but maybe just for self realization/actualization. My nirvana. I can feel the bliss.

Professional Makeup Train Case
Ain’t this precious? I would feel like a makeup artist with this!!

Pick of the Week : Anastasia Brow Kit

My pick of the week is Anastasia Beverly Hills All About Brows Kit.

anastasia brow kit

Hailed as Hollywood’s “brow guru”, and having groomed and shaped brows for Hollywood’s A-list, Anastasia Soare sure knows how to shape the perfect brow. She is famous for the “Anastasia arch”, that is being sported by various Hollywood celebrities. Anastasia Soare believes that eyebrows can instantly change someone’s “look”, and clean brows can make you look younger, better, and given a more brighter complexion.

Her salon in Hollywood is the mecca for the perfectly arched brow, and it has a 5-month waiting list. Boy, my brows would have been junglelicious by then. Sephora and Anastasia Soare have teamed up to have a brow grooming studio at select Sephora stores, and an appointment/brow grooming session costs about $32 there.

Sonia Kashuk Travel-Size Makeup Brushes

sonia kashuk makeup brush

Picking out professional makeup brushes for your train case is a whole different story than picking out your travel-size makeup brushes to bring along with you as travel.

I mean, let’s face it, travel sized brushes will never be as good as the regular-sized ones. The features “minimize” as the sizes shrink! Continue reading

The Deal About Eyelash Curlers

eyelashesSome people have been asking me why I would splurge that much for an eyelash curler. Some give me incredulous looks when I tell them how much it is, and so much more. Goodness. Are they serious? ( Now, I’m the one who’s incredulous! Hahaha ).

I mean, it isn’t the price, you know, if I could find a good one for a dollar, why not?

Ergnomics. Yeah, that flashy jargon term that my best bud studies in her Industrial Engineering class can still be applied to the beauty industry!

Splurge VS Save!

With the lean times that are ahead of us, we need to get all our money’s worth. Inflation rates…fluctuating markets…lower purchasing powers. I didn’t just tell you to lower the standards of the beauty products that you are using! I’m just trying to point out that, there are actually products in the market that are actually good, and with a good price too. Sometimes they are even good enough to compete, or even perform just like their high-end counterparts. One can achieve maximum satisfaction with a low budget, if only he/she can have a keen eye for detail in cosmetics / body care :) So , here are my picks, and I hope it does help you have more moolah saved for the rainy days!:)
