Beautynomics Review : Aero Tweeze Tweezers

Ultra’s Aero Tweeze™ tweezers remove hair with ease! Made in Italy, these high quality, stainless steel tweezers are guaranteed for life. Perfectly aligned, hand-filed tips allow the Aero Tweeze to remove tiny, thin, stubborn hair every time. The unique cut-out handle improves grip and creates feather-light tension for the most comfortable tweeze. Aero Tweeze is available in Slant Tip, Round Tip, and Point Tip.

I have to be honest. Ever since I’ve gotten myself an amazing pair of Tweezerman Tweezers ( in pink, yes! ) , I have never looked at tweezers the same way again. I compared everything to Tweezerman and started ignoring my old tweezers. Tweezerman was the best, and I promised myself, I would not buy any other brand than Tweezerman. It satisfied my need of everyday eyebrow grooming, plucking out even the smallest of stray hair to maintain the results of my eyebrow threading done last January - it’s July already, and I haven’t gone back ever since! ( I have been so vigilant with my brows, I think I’m obsessed with them already. Okay, call the mental. haha! )

I got to check out Ultra’s Aero Tweeze Tweezers, since I was told by a friend that this performs just as well as Tweezerman, or even better! I was intrigued with the review so I decided to roadtest it myself.

A Singaporean Beauty Loot

I so agree with that. When in doubt, buy it. When you see something that you want in a foreign land, and the deal’s pretty good, don’t think twice anymore because chances are , it’ll take some time before you go back there! So, I went shopping!

During my stay there, the first thing I hunted for are well, beauty products. I was amazed on how much beauty brands are there, and well, let me show you my loot! This is to prove to all my friends who are teasing me that I hoarded cosmetics there that IT IS NOT TRUE! hahaha!

Makeup School Escapades : “The Prime Look”

How do you like it? :)

Yesterday was our first hands-on session for our makeup class. I went to class, a little bit sad because I haven’t bought a decent traincase for me. I went in with all my makeup housed in a green SM Supermarket Save the World bag ( those earth-friendly bags ), but of course, armed with a beautiful model - my sister Suzie, with eyebrows untouched since birth, which was the challenge for the day.

For the session, we discussed about the basics - skin care, parts of the face, parts of the eye, and we started doing makeup for a prime look. The “prime look” is the most basic of all makeup looks, and is described as a simple, everyday made-up look. The aim of the “prime look” is to look fresh, and not to draw attention on one part of the face ( such as the eyes, lips, ), so no overpowering shades, just simple, everyday shades. We were able to use medium browns and champagne colored shades for the eyes, matte pink, coral, and apricot shades for the blush, and the universal pink lipstick - which can be worn by anyone. Pink-brown is the shade that can look good on almost everyone. The people from the MAC counter recommends Twig, while my teacher RB looks at Cosmo as the universally flattering pink shade.

Exquisite Photography : Makeup Brushes

I just love it when my friend Phoebe makes everything look great in photo! These Charm makeup brushes sure do look great when seen in person ( or thing, haha ), but the dim lights and shadowy effect give them some drama!

I’m so excited for the mineral makeup weekend!

Smashbox Decadence Vanity Brush Collection

When I have gotten hold of Smashbox’s Master Class Eye Makeup Set, I immediately fell in love with Smashbox’s brushes. They’re made of animal hair and yet they’re very soft, and are very precise in application - just like MAC’s.

Imagine what happened to my eyes when I saw this set sold at the Sephora website,

This is the ultra-luxurious Smashbox Decadence Vanity Brush Collection. Isn’t it a beauty?

Lovely Mineral Makeup Compacts for Christmas

Okay, so shoot me, I am totally obsessed with mineral makeup (take a look at my Mineral Makeup Blog! Haha! ). I just finished a very relaxing ritual of washing my makeup brushes, as well as rearranging my makeup case. I was mega shocked by the mineral makeup I’ve accumulated over the past few months, and to think that I even ordered more for the Holidays ( moi is mega tempted with eyeliner shades, so lovely. )

Let’s all face it- mineral makeup has its benefits, and we really look great with it. My only problem with loose minerals is that they’re messy! There was even one instance wherein my jeans had some trace of mineral makeup! Wahh!

Well, If you want to give a gift to mineral makeup addicts out there (for the lovely Holidays ), these would definitely take their (and my ) breath away :

MAC 187 Stippling Brush

mac 187 brushIf I were to choose a precious Christmas gift, this brush would be it. I have been debating with myself whether I should get this or not, because I am somewhat satisfied with my kabuki brushes here at home. And yet, the raves that I have been reading about in various forums and review sites are much too loud to turn a deaf ear to. Some claim that it is their Holy Grail Brush, and this tool helps their foundations, liquid or dry, glide in effortlessly perfect on their skin, making it look totally airbrushed. Some have ignored the hefty price tag associated with this brush because of the impressive quality. But still, some are quite hesitant - what if it wouldn’t work on them? Thus, they are looking for some alternatives which are more lower-priced. Continue reading

Sephora’s Best of 2006 ( Makeup )

Sephora has come up with their Best Products for 2006, and I must say, I’m happy with my product bets getting in the list, and I am also very curious and tempted to buy those which I haven’t even had the chance of trying them yet!

The list is as follows :

nars orgasm

Best in Cheeks

Best Blush - NARS Orgasm

NARS Orgasm is the universally flattering shade for all women. It has won tons of awards for being best blush already, and it’s still standing as strong as ever!

Best Bronzer - Stila Sun

No Stila in my area. Rumor has it that the company that operates Watsons will be bringing Sephora here soon. Whoopee! Stila shopping spree, here I come! I’m still more excited about Stila’s lipstuff though.
