MAC Holiday Collections : He Said, She Said

“Red” She Said, and no one could resist her! M·A·C Holiday 2008 is a passionate pursuit of the Ultimate Red! Lips connive, then confess in shades from gilded plum to verge-of-vermillion. Hot colour, heated conversation, glorious gifts… Holiday Glamour was never this incendiary!

Dazzleglass and Beauty Powder Blush make a comeback for a limited time. Mineralize Eye Shadow goes from duo to trio: now a daring new ménage à trois, with two shades divided by a metallic “zipper” down the middle, for decadent dazzle. A tribute to all things passionate, “Red” She Said adds a dash of danger, a dose of erotic innuendo to the traditional holiday story. Experience it!

She-devil-sexy serpent-print embossed colour compacts to covet in five shades of passion – if passion is red, then red is passion. Bewitchingly bejewelled.

Beauty-Filled Weekends : Project Beauty Workshops

Brigitte and I with our girls! ( Batch 1, afternoon class )

The first talk I’ve done was about mineral makeup, about a year ( or two ) ago at De La Salle University, for their LEAP ( Lasallian Enrichment Alternative Program). I talked about mineral makeup in two batches, with a morning and afternoon session, each session with around 40 people. I could never forget that day, because someone asked me, “Are you a makeup artist?”. That day ignited my fire for pursuing makeup artistry because I finally realized that this passion of mine was undeniable.

Fastforward about a year ( or two ) from that moment, here I am with my good friend/classmate Brigitte holding Project Beauty : A Makeup Workshop. Aside from our love for applying makeup, we also have this unexplainable love for teaching, since Brigitte’s past resume includes her being a professor ( yes! ) in a university, and well, way back during high school and college, I just loved doing presentations! Haha!

What’s New : NARS Super Orgasm Blush

Okay, if it’s not enough that the cult favorite, universally flattering peach blush NARS Orgasm has been winning over and over in various beauty magazines and Sephora Beauty Awards, it comes up with its lipgloss version, and nail lacquer version. Then, after the success of the two, NARS amps it up once more - with Super Orgasm.

True Love Alert : Artdeco’s Bronzing Compact

Contouring is an art that I’ve fallen in love with. Creating shadows. Subdue-ing features. Chiseling. Contouring must be one of the nicest things I’ve learned from makeup school. I swear, it does magic!

With my playing around with various contouring products, I have found one true love. Yes, just one true love that my Stila Contour Set won’t even match- it’s Artdeco’s Bronzing Compact.

The Art of Removing Makeup

so how can you ladies take it off? It just stays there like forevar?

That was a reply from Fritz, only one of the funniest bloggers in my country, when I Plurked this morning about me trying a product that claims to make my makeup rub-proof, budge-proof and waterproof. Yes, from whatever works of art we create on our faces to either polish our look or add more drama to our eyes, they all have to be washed out and removed by the end of the day because after all, we need our faces bare as they were when our day started, and the day must end that way. Makeup can momentarily cover some flaws, add some definition to our features, but they still need to be removed because they can bind with the dirt on our face, and cause our skin to breakout.

So, how do we exactly remove makeup from our face?

Beauty Awards : 2008 Best of Sephora Winners

Sephora
must be the world’s most prestigious beauty store chain, carrying 200 classic and emerging beauty brands in different categories - skin care, hair care, cosmetics, body care, fragrance, smile care, tools, and also with their own in-house private label. Whenever I’d like to check out brands, I simply have to go to their website, and just scroll through their drop-down list of very, very good brands. Now, it’s time for the 2008 Best of Sephora Awards, whose results came from more than 100,000 beauty mavens who have cast their vote for their favorite products!

Well, let’s see them shall we? For my personal touch, I am including some side-notes on the products that I have tried!

BEAUTY ADDICT’S FAVORITE TIP

“I love to prime my legs and body with the Clarisonic brush before I shave, so that I can attain that flawless application of self tanner. “ < --hmm I only use Clarisonic for my face! This is a nice idea! I am also wanting to try self tanning, like what Phoebe does!

BEAUTY ADDICT’S FAVORITE

* Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips ($18) – This mineral-infused lip polish imparts a high shine without feeling sticky. An infusion of antioxidant vitamins A and E help keep lips soft, smooth, and protected, while the tingly and cooling sensation reminds you that your lips are plumping.

Another Eyeliner Review - Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

The regular reader in this blog must wonder why I’m so obsessed about eyeliners. Well the answer is, well, my eyes are small, and the solution for small eyes to give them more definition is definitely eyeliner! Another reason, why I’ve been checking out different brands is that my skin is impossibly oily and the only eyeliner that I’ve tried that did not smudge were liquid eyeliners like Blinc, Fashion 21 and the Bare Escentuals Weather Everything Liner Sealant paired with loose minerals. I have been most frustrated to use pencil and gel eyeliners, and in one of my previous entries, some girls have suggested that Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil is amazing and stays put really well, so with much luck , I found a friend in Yahoo Messenger who was having her vacation in the US and asked her to buy two for me!

Gotta Love Reese’s Chocolate Lip Balm!

When my good friend Didi came back from Guam, I felt so touched that she got something for me! She was asking me which brand of chocolate I liked - I already forgot about the choices but at first mention of Reese’s, I immediately almost screamed “Reese’s!!!” because it’s my absolute favorite brand of chocolate in the whole wide world! I can devour alot of Reese’s peanut butter chocolates in one sitting, as I consider it a a very delicious guilty pleasure. Turns out - as I received it, it was a lip balm! A tube of Reese’s Scented Lipbalm! Double yay!
