Keeping Oneself Beautiful While Traveling is a TOP Priority Part 2

Now that I’ve revealed the insides of my toiletry kit ( or big beauty kit, that is, ) let me let you peek in my makeup kit! This is the kit that I’d be bringing around me all the time. Singapore is a beautiful city, and the night life is said to be just wonderful and glamorous- and I am definitely going to glam myself up Friday night to go partying with my classmates from highschool whom I am meeting up! ( They’re working there already ).

The insides of my makeup kit :

Jane Iredale One For All Compact

jane iredale mineral makeup

It’s a little bit embarrassing to admit that my overnight bags are actually bigger than a normal person’s overnight bag just because of..well, skin care, and cosmetics! I usually fuss more about my beauty products than the clothes that I am bringing with me when I stay overnight outside. Haha! Well, being pretty anywhere just happens to be my number one priority, just like a fashionista would fuss more about her wardrobe, or a workaholic would just make sure he/she brings her laptop when travelling.

Jane Iredale happens to be one of my favorite brands, and a plus factor is that is a mineral makeup brand! The products perform excellently and definitely delivers what they promise. I love their pressed powder, liquid foundation, and loose mineral foundation! Continue reading

The Beautynomist Meets The T2B Fashion Blogger

Beauty and Fashion has always been complimentary. Great makeup with great clothes is the perfect package! Here I am with fashion blogger Sasha Manuel of b5Media’s Tops2bottoms. It’s not the first time that we have met, but hey, this is our first photo-op together! Haha!

I first learned about Sasha when she hosted the Philippine Blog Awards last February when my blog was one of the finalists for the Lifestyle & Fashion Category. Sasha maintains a local blog called Style Manila, and blogs about international fashion in Tops2Bottoms.

I Finally Found Use For Cetaphil!

cetaphil removes mineral makeup

Cetaphil has worked wonders for my friends, and is hailed by my best bud as her Holy Grail facial cleanser. It’s really mild, dermatologist recommended, and is even used by most dermatologists when they cleanse their patients’ faces prior to acne surgery.

But with my oily and acne-prone skin, Cetaphil just won’t do the trick. I needed something stronger that would cleanse off the dirt from my face, and being gentle at the same time. I heart my Nu Skin Pure Cleansing Gel with all my heart, but the enigma of how Cetaphil worked never really left me. Continue reading

My Mineral Makeup Class Last Weekend!

Last weekend was a blast ! I finally learned how to make mineral makeup. It’s exciting, and I hope to formulate something great soon! I’ve been playing with my minerals ( raw ingredients ) and my coffee grinder like a Chemistry student in the lab ( complete with dust mask and surgical gloves LOL! ), and it’s never been more fun! I’ve found my place in the sun!

I’m cross linking my entry from The Mineral Makeup Blog. View it here!

Update : My first try of making a foundation for myself was a success. Though the coverage and staying power are still to be adjusted just the way I like it, I immediately got my shade on the first try! Not bad!

Tata for now!

Makeup For Camouflaging Stress

stressSigh, work has been toxic lately as the ber months have shifted the demand curve at another level. That always happens! People tend to want to purchase alot of stuff as early as now, and spending power is really high. Well, since everyone has saved up from January to August, and are prepared to splurge their savings for the merry months! Businesses pick up, and overtime from work starts. Same goes with moi.

Stress sometimes can’t be helped, and it really shows. In the skin. Skin becomes dull, and skin looks tired. I have a few suggestions of products that can try to hide your stress, though the best remedy is to stuff your system with fruits and water! Continue reading

Olympus Fashion Week!

The Olympus Fashion Week is one cool event that I’d love to attend one day. You get the future trends a year in advance by checking out the runway! Coolness! My Coutorture family, headed by Julie Fredrickson of Almostgirl, and some members such as Kristen of Beautyaddict and Christina of BonbonsintheBath were the lucky ones to attend the event. Great thing none of them forgot me, and other bloggers who would love to peek at the event! I’d love to share with you Coutorture Media’s firsthand videos of their coverage of the Olympus Fashion Week.

Travelling Fresh and Beautiful

plane beautyMy spirits are a little bit low right now because my favorite friends, Katherine and Diana, are leaving for Beijing tomorrow to study Mandarin, and they’d be away for six months. It’s the end of an era. No more crazy Saturday night outs with Katherine, no more secret-sharing and vain bonding with Diana. A teary-eyed me promised them that I’d visit them next year, and tried to be happy for them for endless opportunities lie ahead in the Sleeping Giant. Sigh, I needed something to remember them by as the empty days lie ahead! ( Movie trivia : This line, I got from Confessions of a Drama Queen, because I am in a drama mood! ). So, this entry is dedicated to the travelling beauties whose flight is on 9:30 a.m ( tomorrow )., but are required to be in the airport by 5:30 a.m. How crazy is that? The airport’s really strict now with airplane passengers, and of course, handbag contents. So, here are some suggestions to have an “efficient” but compact vanity kit as you board in the plane!
