Beautynomics Review : Clinique Superbalanced Mineral Powder

clq_6RN3_250

It’s the summer, and I’m all feeling warm and icky, that heavy makeup just isn’t an option. No matter how much I love makeup that it smoothens my raw, imperfect skin, my nerves act up with heavy stuff, and my nerves are demanding that they usually win.

This summer, I take solace with Clinique’s Superbalanced Mineral Powder. As a mineral makeup fan, I have a soft spot for ground powder, and loose mineral powders that give coverage to the skin. They feel absolutely light on the skin, but give me ample coverage that is natural, and yet long lasting. Thru the years, I’ve experimented with mineral makeup, and traditional makeup, and I think mineral makeup really spoils the skin with its non pore-clogging qualities and the benefit that it allows the skin to breathe.

I love Clinique Superbalanced Mineral Powder as it’s so cute! This compact pot, when opened, reveals a grinding wheel, that as you turn, grinds out mineral powder for you to buff in your skin. It’s actually a mess-proof way of dispensing mineral makeup!

I got my shade in Medium, which is great for light to medium skin tones. I’d like to give you a series of pros and cons of this product, so here I go!

Beauty & Minerals at the Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar this Weekend!

Web

Bazaar-ing ( if there is such a word ) is so tiring, but consider me a lover of tired-ness as I say bring them on this Holiday season as it absolutely makes my day for those who actually go all the way from where they are to my booth, to tell me casually, ” I read your blog,” or ” I read about your products from ___ ( insert friend’s name, or beauty blog here. ) It gives me that super duper fulfilling feeling, and it just makes my day complete! It also gives me complete satisfaction that I am able to give beauty tips, whether they are related to my scope of products, or not. So there, consider me an addict with bazaars!

With that, I am looking forward to seeing more kikay girls this coming weekend at the Rockwell Tent as Beauty & Minerals will be joining The Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar! From November 12, 13, and 14 ( that’s Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ) , here are some reasons why you should go! ( heehee! )

Beauty & Minerals At The Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar

Web

Dear boys and girls,

Tis the time of the year again wherein I am hyperactive, lose sleep, but nonetheless become happy as I am in my element during bazaar season – I proudly display the items that I have well thought of, gladly give consultations to girls who’d want to switch to mineral makeup ( my advocacy, ) and just meet alot of people ( new people that I would gladly baptize into the world of beauty, and faces that I’d match from my emails! Haha! ). Tis the bazaar season again, and Beauty & Minerals would be very much visible to give you the best beauty finds! Continue reading

Beautynomics Review : Avon Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow

I must admit that I only keep a small collection of eyeshadows. I don’t like collecting too much – I think I’m more obsessed with a flawless canvass, and recently, beautiful cheeks. But of course, staple shades would always be on my vanity table. I’m a schizo when it comes to eyeshadows – sometimes I want them soft focus, and feminine, but sometimes I want them ultra pigmented, that gives instant color at first swipe. What I don’t like? Color that’s too diluted, texture too powdery, or color just won’t show up no matter how much you pack colors on your lids.

With my recent love for playing and experimenting with eyeshadows, I have tried Avon Smooth Mineral Eyeshadow.

Superfine powder pigments blend like a dream. Use one or layer, go sheer or smoky. Whisper-soft, air-light. Natural radiance, pure luxury.

Loose eyeshadow. Using loose mineral eyeshadows must entail a very careful application, for once powder falls on unwanted places ( like your undereyes ) , they are very hard to remove. A generous dusting of loose powder under the eyes is most recommended prior to playing with loose mineral eyeshadows. Let the excess powder fall of there. Sweep them away later.

Beautynomics Review : Avon Smooth Mineral Foundation

Nowadays, with every product having the word “natural”, “organic”, “preservative-free” being the entice-factor to every person’s shopping decision, mineral makeup is the choice for the health conscious women ( and men ) out there.

I’ve been obsessed with mineral makeup, and made the switch almost the same time as I started my blog. If you ask me if I still use traditional makeup – I say yes, but it stays less than 24 hours on my face. And I use it sparingly. Mineral makeup will be my ultimate choice for everyday makeup, and even makeup for special occasions. Mineral makeup is the only kind of makeup that my skin feels home to. Alot of women ( and men, for that matter ) are starting to embrace and make the switch to mineral makeup, for mineral makeup does not clog pores and does not aggravate acne. In other words, mineral makeup is makeup that gives you no headache.

Say hello to Avon Smooth Mineral Foundation, Avon’s answer to the needs of women today, with its version of mineral makeup.

Looking at it overall, it’s packed in such a cute way that there’s already a kabuki brush that you can just use to apply your mineral foundation with. Nice, huh? It is actually a steal already for P 499.00, with a mineral foundation , and makeup brush in one!

When it launched in the Philippines just this February, it introduced two shades, a lighter shade called Almond, and a darker one called Buff.

Beauty-Filled Weekend : Are You Ready?

Hi girls and boys!

I’d like to update all of you that I’m still breathing, and functioning. Haha! 13 days of Worldbex’s World Bazaar Festival booth manning is seriously deadly to my face and my health- my eyes just look so tired now, that even tons of firming eye cream and night cream just won’t do! Just goes to show that sleep is the best youth preserver – and there is no substitute for it. I plan to catch up on sleep next week. Pinky promise!

As I am on my last day at World Trade Center tomorrow, manning my Beauty & Minerals booth, I am happy and sad. I am happy to have made new friends, finally met my customers, and just happy doing the thing I love most – talking about beauty and convincing people on the products that I truly believe in. I am sad that I have already had an affinity with that booth that I have camped in for 12 days! Hahaha! But then, you think I’m done? Not quite. One last bazaar, here we go!

From December 18-20, I’ll be at the Rockwell Tent, for Beauty & Minerals and Inti-Mate Bra Converter being a part of the Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar. I’d be sharing a space with my favorite accessory bigwig, Jean & Rosz ( who sell really, really affordable but crazy gorgeous accessories ), and it would be from Friday to Sunday, shop til you drop until midnight! Aside from that, one deliciously beautiful find The Body Bakery ( that I have acquainted with last bazaar at the Hotel Intercontinental ) would be there as well to offer you super moisturizing body creams that smell too heavenly for words – just like your favorite sweets! It’s a must-visit at the Rockwell Moonlit Bazaar as well!

On another note, the Mineral Makeup Weekend, going on for its third year already, will be at the Greenmeadows Clubhouse from December 19-20. Hosted by Claudine Baron, it will have the popular mineral makeup brands Bare Escentuals, Lauress, Monave, Blusche, Micabella, and Mary Kay. I won’t be able to make it there, but my trusty reseller Shopsui would be there to offer you Monave Mineral Makeup, Charm Makeup Brushes, Inti-Mate Bra Converter, amongst their variety of products including the popular organic skin care brand Skin Hour ( LOVE their soaps! ).

So there, ladies and gentlemen, please make sure to drop by these two amazing bazaars this weekend! Hope to see you there, and enjoy Christmas shopping!

Beautynomics Special : Beauty is Recession-Proof!

As the economy is slowing down and recession is making us cut bank on our spending, as we are being extra careful with our jobs, and finding ways to earn more and save more despite the gloomy atmosphere, recession and beauty products are just one different story. As my last entry about beautynomics goes, as the economy goes down, lipstick sales go up!

With this, L’Oreal, the number one beauty company in the world, in its 100th year, commissioned an international survey of 4,000 women in 5 countries including the United States, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. In each country, 800 women ages 15-65, who use makeup, were asked about their cosmetics products and usage.

The statistics and results are just as interesting, just like men wonder why women would act like this, or like that. Here ya go, with my notes included :

Working for a living:

Nearly half of U.S. women believe wearing makeup gives them an advantage at work and makes them feel more in control.

Colorescience Mineral Makeup Debuts in Manila

You just know how close mineral makeup is close to my heart. It’s what saved my skin, and the reason why I am happy and smiling. It’s a miracle product for acne prone skin that doesn’t aggravate our condition, and yet helps us look and feel beautiful without harming our skin.

Well, great news ladies!

My favorite mineral makeup brand that is available in malls finally hits Manila! Colorescience Mineral Makeup now found a first, new home in “Beauty by SM,” the new beauty section of SM Department Store in SM Megamall.

What I love, love about Colorescience is the quality of their mineral makeup. The ingredients ( excluding the always debated about bismuth oxychloride ) are undeniably very good – that can be seen in the face. Diane Ranger, founder of the brand, sought to make the best mineral makeup around using only the best ingredients available, that it’s even endorsed by Dr. Zein Obagi! I’ve been using their products for two months already and people always notice how better my skin looks. Take note on the emphasis of skin, not makeup. Colorescience is a luxury mineral makeup brand that definitely delivers results, and is worth every penny.

My recommendations?
