What’s New: Kryolan Cosmetics HDTV Line

HDTV products are so getting in the market right now. I’m expecting more brands to come up with their HDTV cosmetics line, and the thing is, it’s not only those who are into TV makeup or photographic makeup that are interested with HDTV lines, but even those who would want them for personal use, such as me, who wants to look good in photos all the time! ( and with the hope that I’d be appearing on TV one day! Hahahaha I am so kidding okay? )

Kryolan Cosmetics, one of the most respected brands of makeup, specially in stage and special effects, has released their HDTV line.

Beautynomics Review : MAC Cosmetics New View Collection

The New View Collection is one of MAC Cosmetics‘ latest mineralized collections, together with Electroflash and Sonic Chic. Looks like mineralized or “baked” cosmetics are in right now! On my end, I was able to discover MAC Mineralized Skinfinish from the MAC workshops I’ve attended in lieu of my makeup studies. I’ve learned that it’s a very versatile product as it can serve as a light coverage powder foundation, a finishing powder for that soft focus finish, a highlighter when lighter shades are used, and a contour product for darker shades. It’s a fresh, and lighter ( less chances of breaking out as well ) from the MAC Studiofix. With the New View Collection, about 2/3 of the pan is matte Mineralized Skinfinish, and about 1/3 of the pan is shimmery in texture.

Makeup For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

The new hype of HD products just got me all intrigued. With the dawn of HDTV, even a small imperfection, fine lines, and even clumpy mascara could be seen. *Gasp, right?* on my end, I see HD makeup products as really photogenic ones that would turn out fantastic in photos even if they are beauty shots. Aside from the Cargo Bluray Foundation that I have been using for shoots, I was also able to try the Makeup For Ever HD Microfinish Powder as Jheng got a full tub of this - perfection is just the name of her game, as a makeup artist..

MAC New View Collection

I have a confession. With such bad skin like mine, I have this obsession of perfecting the foundation base, and achieving a very flawless, and luminous complexion. MAC Mineralized Skinfinish products have been a hit worldwide because of its flawless finishes when it is used to set makeup, and now, it’s time for some glow and shimmer to pull of a very sexy bronzed summer look!

Natural and Shimmer. The split personality of powder now, in NewView combinations with superfine seracite and talc base to sheerly and subtly perfect skin with dimensionality and mineralized starshine. The planes of the face, the contours of the body, made dazzling with a one-two sweep.

Mineralize Skinfinish duos are state-of-the-art simplicity, high-resolution finish.

Unlike most powders that are pressed into traditional metal pans, Mineralize Skinfinish is moulded onto small round terracotta tiles and carefully baked for 24 hours, allowing for an exceptionally sheer and light application. The Natural portion of the duo will provide a dimensional yet natural matte-finish, while the shimmer portion will add buffed-up highlights to cheeks and brows, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face.

This unique powder contains vitamin A and E derivatives, which help buffer the skin from environmental aggression and jojoba oil, which calms and soothes the skin. This product can be used on face or body and is appropriate for all skin types.

Dermatologist- and ophthalmologist-tested. Use with the 189 Face Brush. With its rounded paddle and chiselled edges, it’s perfect for precise blending and sculpting.

A Singaporean Beauty Loot

I so agree with that. When in doubt, buy it. When you see something that you want in a foreign land, and the deal’s pretty good, don’t think twice anymore because chances are , it’ll take some time before you go back there! So, I went shopping!

During my stay there, the first thing I hunted for are well, beauty products. I was amazed on how much beauty brands are there, and well, let me show you my loot! This is to prove to all my friends who are teasing me that I hoarded cosmetics there that IT IS NOT TRUE! hahaha!

Prescriptives Fall 2008 Collection : Daring

After a very pretty summer collection of Prescriptives that reminded me of the sun and sea, their Fall Collection , called Daring, is all eye makeup in warm browns, rich sapphire and amethyst tones, muted lips of champagne and rose, and soft focused cheeks of cherry and pink shades. Looks range from alluring and dramatic, to soft and neutral. I just love the subtle smoky eyed look here. And look, they double-lined the eyes! I totally love it! It’s daring without tackiness. It’s Daring with elegance.

Clarins and Achieving a Sultry Summer Look

I felt like I was hit by a stone when an email from one of Clarins’ PR representatives, saying that they have recreated Michelle Trachtenberg’s “sultry summer look.”

MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG! The most controversial guest star in Gossip Girl that wreaked havoc on Serena’s life, but what kept me starting at Georgina for the whole time being is - HER ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL EYE MAKEUP. Gosh her eyes are just the best, and she looks really beautiful with smoky eyes. And now, Nick Barose , celebrity makeup artist for Clarins, has created Michelle’s summer look. I haven’t had access to pictures yet, but I am posting the summer collection of Clarins which were used to create that perfect summer look.

The idea was “warming up” the face without totally tanning it, but using warm, bronze tones on the eyes. Even just the eyes can scream summer!

Makeup Class Escapades : Evaluation , Contouring, and Highlighting

Woops! my messy workplace! hahaha! pardon me!

For hands-on number two on our makeup class, we were tasked to bring in our models , 8 am sharp, applying the “Prime Look” makeup on them within thirty minutes. From my nervous breakdown last week ( see, I always get jittery with these! ), I needed to work with a model that I’m very comfortable with - and there’s no other person in the world that I’d rather do makeup on than my very dear, kind, and not to mention, ultra gorgeous friend Cristine. It made my hands-on with her a little bit less stressful because she’s one of the nicest people and one of my dearest friend that would support me all the way and she’s always believed in me. Not to mention super pretty!

Well, what do you think? A bigger version of Cristine’s beautiful look here.

Well, here are the masterpieces of my classmates!

Makeup School Escapades : “The Prime Look”

How do you like it? :)

Yesterday was our first hands-on session for our makeup class. I went to class, a little bit sad because I haven’t bought a decent traincase for me. I went in with all my makeup housed in a green SM Supermarket Save the World bag ( those earth-friendly bags ), but of course, armed with a beautiful model - my sister Suzie, with eyebrows untouched since birth, which was the challenge for the day.

For the session, we discussed about the basics - skin care, parts of the face, parts of the eye, and we started doing makeup for a prime look. The “prime look” is the most basic of all makeup looks, and is described as a simple, everyday made-up look. The aim of the “prime look” is to look fresh, and not to draw attention on one part of the face ( such as the eyes, lips, ), so no overpowering shades, just simple, everyday shades. We were able to use medium browns and champagne colored shades for the eyes, matte pink, coral, and apricot shades for the blush, and the universal pink lipstick - which can be worn by anyone. Pink-brown is the shade that can look good on almost everyone. The people from the MAC counter recommends Twig, while my teacher RB looks at Cosmo as the universally flattering pink shade.
