L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Serum

If I were asked to handpick one single product from the entire L’Oreal Elseve line, I’d pick the L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Serum in a heartbeat.

I truly believe that it is the best, and really, the best hair serum I’ve ever tried.

If Kerastase Oleo Relax Masque is my Holy Grail intensive conditioner, then the L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Serum is my Holy Grail hair serum that is just perfect for my frizzy hair.

I remember one time when my hair was newly cut, and it was flying away in all directions ( horrible, horrible time of adjustment, let me tell you ), I had to use the hair iron to make sure my hair was in good shape before I left the house. One really busy evening, whilst I was late for a dinner date and my hair wasn’t dry yet, I applied some L’Oreal Smooth Intense Serum on my damp hair, concentrating on the tips, steering away from the roots ( as they make make my hair limp ), as I rushed off.

Lo and behold, as I arrived just in time for dinner, my friends were complimenting me on my new ‘do, saying that it wasn’t as stick straight as before, and they loved how my hair was still bouncy but not frizzy. ( For the record, my hair’s layered right now, teehee ). I was pleasantly surprised because I didn’t expect the serum to work that way - it made the tips of my hair manageable, and made my hair look neat and well-maintained.

CLEAR Dares You To Wear Black, On Valentines Day!

Dare to wear black this Valentine’s Day?

Dare. Only if you’re dandruff free. Move closer, anytime.

Drat, did I just say that? Hahaha! I must just be too carried away with CLEAR’s new commercial featuring my one ( of three HAHAHA ) true love, Piolo Pascual.

The commercial’s just so darn sexy and provocative. Black happens to be my favorite color.

Anyway, CLEAR’s in the market for a good few months already! Any feedback on the product? I mean, I like it! It keeps flakes at bay, alright. How about you? I’d love to hear from you!

Beauty Bloggers’ Day Out, and Getting Smitten With a Marimar ‘Do

I’m sorta late for reporting about my very fun weekend with my beauty blogger girlfriends, Phoebe and Sasha. When three beauty bloggers flock together, well, all I can say is that the major topic that are discussed are all about beauty, and fashion ( since I’m also getting tips from these two fashion savvy girls, oh, I need it, love them ). Topics discussed were boots, skirts, eye creams, shades, hair cuts, and oh, ALOT! It was so much fun spending the day with these girls, as we grabbed some lunch, got some coffee and had some chitchat, went to a meeting ( for a possible event, ) and last but not the least, spent our free remaining time shopping and being pampered in the salon ( oh, heaven! ).

Went to F Salon, the salon inside First Aid, in Greenbelt 3.

Some pictures,

As Phoebe and Sasha had their fabulous cuts, I had my eyebrows and upper lip threaded by Marissa. Boy, she made me cry, but did a great job nonetheless. I’d recommend getting your brows fixed by her anytime, because there are other salons that offer threading but don’t even do it well (bad experience, take it from me ) It was also very affordable, considering the location to be at Greenbelt 3, my bill was only 300 bucks.

This Kid Outdid Me With Paris Hilton’s New Hairstyle

BOB - It’s screaming, just about everywhere, thanks to La Beckham’s trendsetting prowess, that she managed to start an obsession about the “it” hairstyle of the moment. Followers include Rihanna, Katie Holmes, and even Paris Hilton.

A few weeks ago I was gushing over how pretty Paris Hilton’s new ‘do was, but with the texture of my hair ( which was coarse and thick ), it would be horribly high maintenance for me to have my hair cut like that. So, I let go of the thought and started growing my hair long for maybe a perm by June.

Guess who outdid me, and sneaked into Paris’ new ‘do.

None other than my unbelievably vain sister, JULIET. ( which my pen name’s inspired from , a eureka moment when I caught her once with blue eyeshadow all over her lids. The “mime” makeup’s another story altogether pfft haha ).

Elseve Color Vive Protecting Conditioner

I’ve been addicted to L’Oreal Elseve hair products ever since they’ve landed here in Manila. I mean, wow. It’s the reason that my Kerastase Oleo Relax Masque is still half-full that I would be able to save it for more special occasions ( teehee ).

A reader requested me to review the Elseve Color-Vive line, which is the red variant of Elseve. I’d like to review first, the Elseve Color-Vive Protecting Conditioner. It’s the tall conditioner that is to be used everyday.

TEASE-ing Its Way Into My Heart

As I came home from work, guess what greeted me.

Hint : My eyes were glued to the TV screen, in total awe, what the world is thinking.

The TV’s just full of reality show nowadays - dating games, surviving the wilderness, home makeovers, fashion designing, yuppies in the making and even photography contests.

This is just the first time that I’ve ever watched TEASE - a reality show about hairstyling.

The Beautynomist Loves Elseve Smooth Intense Hair Masque!

With the merciless way that I have treated my hair for the past few weeks, I think it deserved a break. Yesterday as I was strolling at the mall, I almost jumped in glee when I saw pots of L’Oreal Elseve Smooth Intense Hair Masque. God, I’ve been dying to try it, but my best friend just keeps on forgetting to give me the pot that she bought for me! Haha! I couldn’t wait any longer, so I grabbed the pot, and hit checkout ( woops, in the real world, went to the counter, and paid for it ).

Lately, I have understood what it meant by “tangled” hair. My hair seems fine, but everytime I would run through my hair, it would get stuck, or something. Blame it on the shampoo that I’ve been using - I think it was too harsh, but heck, I had to use it. Now, I have to say byebye to it and say hello to my new Elseve shampoo ( that would be reviewed in another entry ) and Hair Masque. My Kerastase Oleo Relax Hair Masque pot is already empty, and I got intrigued by the statements of others that Elseve is as good as Kerastase. Being an absolute Kerastase fanatic ( to the point that I requested that brand for my OJT ), I decided to use this hair masque , and roadtest away!

Ali Larter To Sport a “Real” Hairstyle for the Emmy’s

I admit to being one of those girls who would idolize, and dream about sporting hair and makeup worn by Hollywood stars. I do, I really do. Somehow, self esteem goes down as you just find out that the looks are not too attainable. ( well, at least for me! )

Did you know that it often takes at least two hair stylists, and hours and hours of sitting down the styling chair , curling irons, salon wedges, flat irons, and hot rollers to get those absolutely stunning looks on the red carpet? Ugh, that didn’t sound comfortable! Continue reading

The Beautynomist’s Hair Rebonding Experience

Mirror mirror, on the wall, who’s got the thickest hair, of them all?

Guilty. I have such thick hair ( I got it from my dad ), that it would have been just glorious if it were shiny black, and bouncy, just like the models that are shown on TV commercials. Even if it is unhealthy to want to look like a model, I am somehow obsessed with their hair. Downside is, my hair is naturally frizzy. Well, just can’t have them all.

Or can’t I?

Last year was the best year of my life as I had my hair rebonded at Tony & Jackey, a Korean salon located in Manila ( Malate, to be exact ). Koreans are well known for their expertise in styling hair, and I was really happy with Kenny’s job in doing my hair last year. My thick, puffy hair was transformed into sleek, shiny long hair, and he just had this technique of making my hair thin ( the layers were shorter “inside” than on the exterior ). It was amazing. Kenny had to go back to Korea for a surgery and never went back - it definitely left his clients devastated. Continue reading

Dandruff in the Headlines!

Note : I really really liked this entry so I cross posted it from my local beauty blog! Let me just share this to my international readers.

If you read today’s issue of Manila Bulletin ( Friday, August 10, 2007 ), you won’t be seeing the usual everyday news about the nation - lookie, lookie, I’ve even scanned the newspaper!

The headline says, ” RP Battles with Dandruff : 44% of Filipinos Have It” It’s definitely a fresh change from the usual headlines that I have been reading everyday. No political jargons “solon”, ” moratorium”, etc. If I would have those headlines to greet me everyday, then I would be more motivated to read my daily newspaper !
