Let’s face it. When a woman bats her lush, long, and thick lashes, the moment is considered all hers. Time stands still, the whole world of men is enslaved by her, and all no one of her favors are left ungranted. The eyes are the ultimate weapon of seduction, and long, thick, black lashes are the lethal accessories, along with fabulous eye makeup.
False lashes were first invented for the 1916 film, “Intolerance,” wherein director D.W. Griffith wanted Seena Owen “to have lashes that brushed her cheeks.” Hollywood legends , such as Betty Davis ( immortalized by the song Bette Davis’ Eyes ), also used false lashes for some of her movies. Some people have been asking me why I would splurge that much for an eyelash curler. Some give me incredulous looks when I tell them how much it is, and so much more. Goodness. Are they serious? ( Now, I’m the one who’s incredulous! Hahaha ).
