First, let me share to you something that’s transpired in my household this week. My baby sister Sugar woke me up around 5:30 am in the morning, all showered, in her school uniform, and all ready for school. Why I woke up? I woke up to a smell. Really! She just smelled like a baby, and her smell would just spread around the room everytime she moved! With half-open eyes, I teased her, “oh so Sugar has a crush!” Sugar , with her ever sheepish smile, said “no achie, I just like smelling good every single time!”

Very, very cute!

But true, as well! Before, I would just be content with a newly-showered natural body scent, and go neutral all throughout the day, but lately ( lately means these past 4 years hahaha! ) , fragrances seem to integrate in my beauty routine. It’s the perfect finish to a perfectly made up look, and a perfect get-up – a perfect scent to add up some charm or personality. Haha!

As we slowly say goodbye to the sunny weather, and make way for chilly, snuggly weather, fragrance choices also change, believe it or not!

Light scents right now just seem to be too…light. With the chilly weather, somehow, I need to feel warm, as I believe that there is such fragrance that gives me a sense of warmth.

I embrace, and say hello to cold weather by wearing my latest scent, DKNY Delicious Candy Apples in Sweet Caramel. Yes, I have my scents in very cute packaging that look like apples, that coincides with my childhood nickname, Apple. I totally love it!

Summer, summer, summer. It’s my favorite time of the year, though it has come a little bit too early this time. It’s been inconsiderably warm lately, and definitely requires alot of effort to stay fresh! One way to stay fresh? Summer scents.

Define summer scents.

Summer scents are fragrances that are delicate, light, and are screaming fresh! Summer scents compliment the warm weather, and are usually floral, or citrus, that are in no way heavy. One fine Friday, when I decided to get out of my comfortable home, and just shop alone ( oh, how that feels so good! ), as I was leaving CK Tang’s, I heard someone shout my name, “Sophie!”. Turns out, it was Michelle, my classmate from makeup school, who’s known for her elegant eye makeup style, and who works for Dior. She wrapped around a lovely ribbon on my wrist, that has the scent of Dior’s new fragrance, Miss Dior Cherie L’Eau. More than that, she sprayed the fragrance on me and smiled, as she said, “white musk.” White musk. Oh, one of my favorite scents. I find it pleasing to the nose, as it is not unbearingly sweet.

I was able to watch Quantum of Solace last weekend, and although I felt that Casino Royale was way, way better, since it was more exciting, Quantum of Solace was sort of a transition and a continuation of Casino Royale as what happened to James Bond after the demise of the love of his life, Vesper Lynd. Okay, I’m blabbering. But I cannot deny that the new Bond Girl, Camille, played by Olga Kurylenko, is definitely eye candy! She’s got the most perfect facial structure that I’ve ever seen – her cheekbones are high, the camera loves her – the contour makeup done on her reflects perfectly onscreen, and she has the most perfect and seductive lips that I’ve ever seen! She reminds me of a young Catherine Zeta Jones.

Now, she’s endorser for Kenzo’s new fragrance, to be available during the holidays, Kenzo Amour le Parfum.

Sephora must be the world’s most prestigious beauty store chain, carrying 200 classic and emerging beauty brands in different categories – skin care, hair care, cosmetics, body care, fragrance, smile care, tools, and also with their own in-house private label. Whenever I’d like to check out brands, I simply have to go to their website, and just scroll through their drop-down list of very, very good brands. Now, it’s time for the 2008 Best of Sephora Awards, whose results came from more than 100,000 beauty mavens who have cast their vote for their favorite products!

Well, let’s see them shall we? For my personal touch, I am including some side-notes on the products that I have tried!

I’d be totally honest and tell you that rainy days are not my thing. I know how comforting it is to sleep under such chilly weather, but summer is just my favorite, favorite season of the year. As soon as Christmas is about done, my mind takes a fast forward drift as I consider February as summer!

Anyway, Leyede‘s new fragrance, called Beach Bomb, fixes me in a trance that makes me feel like summer forever. Its fresh fragrance takes me my mind to the beach to savor the fresh, unforgettable breeze. Sigh.
