Ahhhh. The New Year brings about so much promises. Fresh beginnings. Promises of a better you. I think we’ve all used up the last few days of 2012 to reflect, and see how we can do better the following year. Agree?

In the midst of beautiful people gracing the Golden Globes 2011 red carpet, I must say that Tron-Legacy star Olivia Wilde shone admist the rest! Aside from her stunning, jewelled Marchessa gown, she looked absolutely gorgeous! Her look is au naturelle, very nude but very fresh!

Celebrity makeup artist Spencer Barnes notes that Olivia’s look was inspired by images she collected of what she refers to as ‘the French girl.’ “I wanted her skin to be fresh and clean with eyes that extended outward. Touches of rose gold and sheer pink-veiled lips completed her youthful coquette-ish look,” Spencer said.

Fall is the most fashionable time of the year, don’t you agree? The colder weather makes it permissible to us to wear anything we want without the risk of melting, and all that. Oh, that’s beside the point. I’m talking about nail polish, not makeup ( Sophie, pay attention! haha! ). Nonetheless, I love what I see during fall on ladies’ hands – dark nails. This fall, NARS Cosmetics introduces two very useful palettes, and they are coupled with a new packaging – a compact NARS-logo zippered case. Very cute, isn’t it? I personally think that they know how to play with their very versatile logo and work around with modern packaging while retaining its timelessness and the iconic vibe.

The new palettes, wonderfully named Beautiful Life, and Only You ( sounds like these names came from the movies! ), include two signature NARS cheek products chosen to complement the lips or eyes – whether deep or sultry, or light and fresh.

Oh, I will never, ever regret my purchase of NARS Schiap Lipstick a few weeks ago. It’s just so vibrant, and just fills in my sad red lip dream. Now, I know I can sport semi-matte fuschia lips with all the confidence in the world. Here’s a picture of me wearing it. Looks like this lippie is going to be a favorite!
