My Crash Course in Chemical Peels/Peeling Treatments

Last Thursday, right before snagging those babies at Shopwise, I went on a south roadtrip to Festival Mall to undergo my second skin peeling session at the Ageless Center, care of Dr. Socouer Oblepias, who had intensive training in the line of chemical peels and treatments in San Francisco, USA.

Now, I was told by my dermatologist when I was in college, that the only solution to my acne scars were chemical peeling ( I’m guessing, should be TCA ), and I was told that it would hurt, feel itchy, and I would look very sunburned right after the peeling session. Downtime. Ack. She also gave me a scenario that she would be using a fan to cool my face from the stinging sensation expected. I never went back because I got scared of the downtime and the pain.

Fastforward, two weeks ago, I had my first peeling session, right after a facial from my dermatologist. It was called gel peel that promised to slowly get rid of acne. It stang a bit, and well, I saw flaking. My skin was a bit brown afterwards. I’ve also done diamond peels before, but well, last Thursday was a new experience, still!

Super fastforward, back to my peeling session last Thursday, I was most curious on what difference progressive peels would make. I was told that the peels that would be performed on me , which was Sensi Peel and Esthetique Peel have very very minimal, to no downtime. I was most curious about this. My skin is acne prone, have really problematic open pores, and have some acne scars, so being out without makeup was really not a comfortable thing for me to do, but hey, one has to brave the wild to be able to get results. I would want to get good skin one day that I won’t need to wear makeup.

A Singaporean Beauty Loot

I so agree with that. When in doubt, buy it. When you see something that you want in a foreign land, and the deal’s pretty good, don’t think twice anymore because chances are , it’ll take some time before you go back there! So, I went shopping!

During my stay there, the first thing I hunted for are well, beauty products. I was amazed on how much beauty brands are there, and well, let me show you my loot! This is to prove to all my friends who are teasing me that I hoarded cosmetics there that IT IS NOT TRUE! hahaha!

A Beauty Addict’s Birthday Loot

*Takes a deep breath* well, here it is - what I’ve got for my birthday. Last year, on impulse, I got myself a Macbook and a DSLR Camera for my birthday ( of course, my dad paid for my Macbook and I paid for my camera haha! ). This year, the greatest birthday gift I gave myself was enrolling myself in makeup class - I will never regret this decision I made because I know in my heart that I love, love makeup, and of course, my birthday would not be complete without a beauty loot. A shameful one, actually. Hahaha!

This pre-birthday loot was purchased right after the MAC Bridal Makeup Workshop. I got myself a DUO Surgical Adhesive from the MAC Counter as we were going to be taught on how to apply false eyelashes the day after, Studiolights in Ideal Pink, Sand, ( and the darkest one the next day ) for my creme highlighting and contouring for my finals ( I’ve always wanted to do that ! ), a MAC Prep and Prime for the Eyes for my models, a Makeup For Ever Concealer Palette since I’ve been borrowing Jheng’s Cinema Secrets Concealer Palette at class for the longest time already, and two babies that flew in just in time for my birthday, Continue reading
