Apparently, I’m not yet done with my lipstick love, that all I can be experimental about this year would be lipsticks. Yes, I go out on most days for meetings, and it is important to be presentable, but I find myself having that “minimalist” look lately – using foundation, defining my eyebrows ( VERY important for me ), lining my eyes with my trusty black eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipstick. Still too much for you? That has been my day look lately. Eyeshadows would have to take a backseat for night events and dinners, when I have more time.
Moving forward, I’m here to introduce to you one of the newest makeup brands in the Metro. BYS Cosmetics is an Australian drugstore makeup brand that is really well-received, and I’ve seen alot of them when I was doing my rounds of cosmetics hunting in Australia in one of their bigger groceries.
BYS Cosmetics is now in the Philippines, and boy, their prices are affordable. The BYS Lipstick & Lipgloss Duo in Dusty Rose retails for about P399.00 only, and is your multipurpose lipstick and lipgloss stick in one. I was given a chance to try the shade in Dusty Rose, and I think the photos will be able to tell you more than I ever will! Haha!
Let me break it down for you on what I think about the BYS Lipstick & Lipgloss Duo in Dusty Rose:

Color
The color is just beautiful! I was taken aback on how gorgeous this shade is. It is basically a very natural rose shade. If I can compare it with MAC’s lipsticks, it’s pretty much near to MAC Cosmo, but the rose/pink shade is deeper here, and it’s not as nude. There are also microshimmers in this lipstick, but it wouldn’t look shimmery on your lips. It looks slightly pearly on mine. It’s nice! Oh, after all my descriptions, it just looks really, really pretty on the lips! It’s probably one of the prettiest shades I’ve ever tried. It’s unique on its own!
Texture
I think it’s okay. The spread is good, but not exactly buttery. It’s very, very basic. I think it’s good enough for an everyday lipstick!
The gloss, on the other hand, is also okay. I’m not really into glosses, but if you’re a shine-fan, this would really work for you! I’m more of a lippie person myself.
Color Payoff
The color payoff is amazing – one swipe, and no need to re-swipe, unless you want to buildup the color and get color intensity there. It gives you color that easily! I’m pleased!
Overall
I would recommend this to EVERYONE who wants pretty lipsticks, whether they are on a budget, or would like to collect more pretty shades. Note from Sophie ( and remember this ) – one can never have too much lipsticks!

I think that this duo lipstick is great for everyday use. The bonus part is that it’s affordable.
