I grew up with Camay.
My aunt would often tease me as the “batang dalaga” ( the kid – teenager ) , because I would pretty much idolize my mom and aspire to do whatever she does, as she is just so beautiful. When Mom and Dad go out on a date, I sneak in their room, play with makeup, and even wear Mom’s clothes. Hahaha! One of the things that Mom and I shared was Camay. We would use this really fragrant pink bar of soap way back ( I have this inborn fondness for pink, okay ) , and it was just so endearing that when she saw me go home with some new Camay goodies, she instantly beamed, and told me, “Do you remember we used to have Camay in the bathroom and use that soap? Remember?” Boy, that was at least twenty years ago. Such fond memories, that just brings a big smile on my face.
I guess the young ones do not know or have not experienced Camay. It was just as synonymous as asking my 18-year old sister, “Do you know the Brady Bunch? Bioman? Voltes Five? Or even Carebears?” Yeah, I would just gasp in shock on how they could NOT know the Carebears ( anyone? sympathize with me, please! hahaha! ) Care Bears…STARE!!!! ( okay, some are not picking up, sorry! Google it up, they are just so cute! )
Going back, I do not know what happened to Camay as it just disappeared during my teenage years, and I recall seeing it briefly poised for a relaunch a few years ago. But everything seems really good right now as they had a formal relaunch of Camay, with Angelica Panganiban as their endorser.

These scents are sure come-hither scents that would turn heads to make your men wanting more, or to actually snag your man!
With the popularity of romantic comedies and romance books today, it’s no secret that girls love romance. Not only do girls think about the perfect guy, they also daydream about the perfect first encounter with him and the kilig moments that follow. Every girl wants to leave a lasting impression especially on the guy of her dreams. Every girl wants to be the one her dream guy can’t forget.
There are three scents available for both Camay Soap and Shower Gel, and here’s a description from the brand, alongside my commentary and initial impressions by trying them out.
Romantique Rose. This variant reflects being feminine with a flirty edge. Indulge in heavenly scent inspired by a classic Rose de Bagatelle. Ignite a sense for love and romance with this feminine and floral scent that provides sensual, touchable skin.
This variant is just sooo feminine! It reminds me of a very feminine, and light floral perfume. It’s like instant floral perfume worn as you step out of the shower! Very fresh.
Dynamique Grapefruit. Capturing the refreshing scent of nature, this variant will brighten the day ahead with the scent of pink grapefruit and white floral accents. Feel even more beautiful with skin given a sweet boost from this vibrant scent.
This one’s quite citrusy! I’ve been familiar with the grapefruit scents found in bath products, and this one is just like any other. It’s nice! For those who are into citrusy, fresh, sporty-fruity scents, then this is for you!
Crème Vanilla. Redefining luxury, this particular variant puts together the indulgent scent of vanilla with lavish white lilies, creamy coconut and a touch of orchid. Enjoy a light and calming pampering experience with this delicious scent.
I thought that this would be stuffy and heavy on the nose, but it wasn’t! After bathing, theres just this sweet hint of vanilla, and perhaps some hint of coconut ( reminds me of the beach! ). This is some sweet freshness fusion that I’m confused on how they came about. Brilliant! I’d bring this to the beach!
So, for those who are fond of bath products, and perfumes, you can get the best of both worlds by trying these out! These are really promising! I saw that in other countries, they also have Camay deodorants. I’m waiting for the day that it comes here, as it’s a total layering-package for us girls!

Loving these new Camay scents and love the new look too! Resisting to buy and try all of them at the same time! LOL! I remember while growing up their TV Ad with the “tuyong dahon” or dried leaves and the Camay model in the tub. Every time I saw a dried leaf on the ground on my way home from school, I’d pick it up and crush it too the way they did in the commercials. Hahahaha! This brings back childhood memories. ü And yes, I loved The Care Bears! And Bioman, Voltes V, Rainbow Brite, Voltron (the lions), even the Thundercats, and a little of G.I. Joe, and of course, The Gummi Bears. Oh and He-Ra and She-Ra too! ü
