I know, I know! I wasn’t able to blog so much last month because of my crazy days, but it didn’t mean that my passion for beauty has come to a halt. Never! I am now frantically blogging to share with you one of my best finds this 2012, because this limited edition will only be until January 4!
Shu Uemura has claimed 2012, with its hit collections, and the biggest one must be their holiday collection, collaborating with THE Karl Lagerfeld. I fondly called them Mon Shu makeup, because of the really cute cartoon, and new friend of mine, Mon Shu!
I failed to share with you ( so sorry, will never happen again! ) my shopping spree last month, as I was really so stressed, and I thought I deserved a good reward for December, and within ten minutes of checking out the beautiful Mon Shu stuff at my favorite Shu Uemura store at Rockwell Powerplant, here’s my loot!
I could have lasted only five minutes inside that store if I really knew what I wanted. I knew I wanted the really sultry Shu Uemura Bordeaux Palette, and I wanted a nude Celebrity Beige lipstick. I really wanted to try some red lip colors from Shu Uemura, but I had some fear that it would be a waste, as I really look horrid with red lipsticks. I don’t know, I just feel like a clown whenever I wear red lipsticks – I never last for more than an hour wearing it! I also feel that my teeth look yellower, and even more magnified with red lipsticks. So, I casually asked the really friendly SA at Shu Uemura about the safest, non-teeth-yellowing red lipstick they have. THE John Pagaduan interjected, and whipped out Mon Shu Red. I tried it on. The rest was history.
Mon Shu Red lipstick is a strawberry red shade. It’s glossy in texture, and it takes two layers to obtain solid color.
On what I thought would be a one-time use lipstick, and something that I would just tuck away like some other bold colors that I have here turned out to be my most used lipstick for December! During daytime, when admittedly, I am not an adventurous eye makeup type of gal, I would just do away with eye definition via eyelining and mascara application, and just finish off my look with Mon Shu Red to give my face that pop of color. Bold colors really brighten up the face, and this lipstick really bought me alot of brightness for the Holidays.
Shu Uemura Mon Shu Red Lipstick, I claim, is my best red lipstick find for 2012. I really love it, that it’s such a forgiving red, specially for Asians, and I think it’s one of the safest reds I’ve tried, ever! Now, this lipstick really helped me “ease in” to wearing
bold” lipcolors, that I am currently trying out ( but I didn’t say goodbye to my pale shades, let’s just be clear on that! ). Mon Shu Red pulls off such quiet elegance and style, nothing too loud, but just gives a beautiful statement, that really brightens up the face!
Now, I really hope that you get to read my post early. Yesterday, January 2, I was just gliding giddily ( I was actually happily hopping like a kid!! hahaha! )to the Shu Uemura counter as I was walking around Powerplant Mall. I was just greeting the really friendly SA over there about how great Mon Shu Red was, and when I asked her until when the collection will be, she told me that it was only going to be until January 4. Panic rushed into my system, broke my New Year’s promise not to spend a single dime for the first week, and shelled out for an extra tube. Believe me when I say that this is worth shelling out for an extra tube. It’s limited edition, and I have never come across such lovely red shade! I went home with an extra tube, and a happy heart. So, if you would want to try this out, do drop by your nearest Shu Uemura counter!

That red lipstick shade totally looks good on you. I also have the same sentiment, red lipstick most of the time, makes me feel that I look like a clown. I hope I can got to Rockwell and grab this one so I can perfectly pull off red lips just like you for 2103. Thanks for sharing!
