2012 must be the most controversial year in history. I’ve researched on this year for as long as I can remember. Perhaps I started geeking bout this year the moment I had internet ( highschool? ). The Mayans predicted the world to end on 2012, too much movies as products of fantasies and fear about 2012 and even beyond, but here we are, beyond December 21, 2012, all looking forward to a bright 2013.
2012 was a phenomenal year for me. Of course, there were ups and downs, but I choose to see the better things that happened to me this year and be thankful for it. I know, I haven’t been blogging so much this year, but I do promise that this 2013, I will definitely be giving you your dose of Beautynomics ( I really promise to do so!!! )
Let me share with you my greatest 2012 moments, that I might have not shared in this blog. But it’s never too late to do so, right? So let me fill you in with what truly made my 2012 worthwhile, and really happy. This is actually a mix of business and life-related happenings this 2012!

Sugar’s 18th.
I think that Beautynomics readers know Sarabeth/Sugar, as she has been my test bunny in all my makeup endeavors. She has been most cooperative, trusting me with her two proms, from her gowns to her makeup, and I truly am grateful. I am such a proud sister, that this little kid who used to be that talkative, English-speaking cutie has blossomed into a beautiful lady. She is now in college, frequently burning the midnight oil with nonstop studying ( gotta commend that ) , so we’re now talking about eye creams for her undereye circles, and skincare. She is also starting to do her own makeup, one day at a time. She might not be kikay like me, but I will definitely guide her in at least polishing her makeup, and her looks in the years to come!

Jacqe Gets Married.
My bestfriend Jacqe gets married to the man of his dreams this year, and my circle of best friends was complete this year, as my BFF Maisie came all the way from Canada just to celebrate with us! This was truly one of my happiest days this year, and I feel honored to be part of the preparations. It seemed just like yesterday when we were teenagers in long-sleeved uniforms with our fans ( pamaypays ) talking about crushes, and dreams about the future and I just can’t believe that we’re near the stars that we had hoped to catch one day, and with this one, Jacqe just reached for one special star, a milestone in her life, that is to get married to a wonderful, God-fearing man that Vic is. I am really happy that Jacqe found her happiness and forever with Vic.

Charm Makeup Brushes Wins Best Makeup Brushes at the Cosmo Beauty Awards 2012
Really. Surreal. After five years’ worth of hard work and establishing Charm, I can’t believe we made it to the Cosmo Beauty Awards! I feel truly blessed and grateful, and even more inspired to come up with more beautiful and functional makeup brushes ( and even more stuff! ) this coming 2013! I promise!!!!
( Plug, get them at Beauty & Minerals, all Crossings branches, and PurBeauty Serendra/Harbor Point! )

Charm opens its new home in Crossings Glorietta
Finally, we made it to the Makati district, something I’ve longed for over a year. We finally have a display, effective November 2013 at Crossings, Glorietta! Such a dream come true. I wish one day, that I would be able to make a Charm Essentials boutique. haha! One day
Travel-Filled 2012
This year was filled with soo much travels and it was just so much fun!

Sri Lanka this January ( I hardly felt this was part of 2012, I really felt it was part of 2011! )
Now, people can remove that misconception that I am high-maintenance! I climbed Sigiriya Rock ( that rock behind us!!! ) , as I walked the entire 8-mile stretch of Stanley Park two years ago okay? People think that I am fragile and maarte, but really, I can be a cowboy, promise! hahaha!

Melbourne, Australia this October, with the same set of fun friends. Such a beautiful place! I am saving drafts, hoping to publish these travel entries, soon!
I really, really love traveling. I think it refreshes my soul. When I rode that first plane ride when I was twenty-one, I swore to myself that I will travel and travel as much as I can. There are just so much things beyond us. So much beautiful places. God is really a genius. For every breath that He takes away from me from being wonderstruck about a place, I praise Him on being that wonderful creator for creating such beautiful places, beautiful sights. My project in this life, is to get on that plane as much as I can, go on “field trips” and see all of God’s beautiful pieces of art. I intend to make the most out of this life and enjoy and praise Him for all the beauty that He has created.
Sri Lanka, you were mysterious, humble, and I felt serenity with you. Melbourne, you converted this city girl into a rustic, countryside girl. Your endless greens, and the waves crashing by the rocks at the ocean are all I want to see for the rest of my life.
I learned how do dive, and I’m a certified diver!

I initially hated my pool trainings for scuba diving, but boy, when I hit the sea, it was really a different story. I’ve never felt such serenity and calmness under the sea. It is really another world under the sea. It is life-changing, and I’m really looking forward for more dives this 2013!

The launch of Sample Room. My biggest milestone! Make that OUR biggest milestone
Four girls with different ideas fuse together, that forms Sample Room. I promise that each of my partners are different in their own ways, and I am just so so happy that Sample Room is now open to give the Filipino people a dose of beauty sampling for free!
I have always dreamed about having a website to cater to many, with an advocacy, and I can’t believe that it’s finally one URL away. I thought that I would only be able to create one in my mind, but let me just say that no man is an island. With the help of three able minds, we were able to execute and pull off such a website that I’m really proud of! I’m really grateful for the support of our brand partners, our partner bloggers, and to all my Beautynomics readers ( and readers of my partner bloggers ) for supporting, and getting your samples! We have lovely plans for 2013, and I can’t wait to reveal one of them month by month!

Getting featured in Manila Standard with an article named “Sophie’s Choice.”
I never thought I would deserve such full-paged feature ( full text can be read here ) . I never thought someone would see me that way, and moreso write about me that way! Thank you so much, Dinna.
For me, it’s symbolic of our everyday lives. You don’t get to see how much you’re worth, until you hear what your friend has to say about you. That’s why we have friends. They remind you that you need to appreciate yourself just a little more!

Getting an award for being one of Tupperware’s Top 10 Women of Confidence.
Ahhhhh. I believe that no single person in this world is 100% confident, but I believe that every single one of us tries. I would have to say that I am not 100% confident, but I just really push myself to be. I accept, and admit that I am always a work in progress, and there are always room for improvement for me. I am just so happy to know that I have inspired people with my blog, into loving themselves enough to take a step, and do something about it. If makeup makes you feel good, so what? The world is yours for the taking. You are in charge of your own life. Do the things that make you feel great. Believe in yourself. You are limitless. My favorite song is “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey, so you get my drift in how I see life. I might break down sometimes, and you might relate, but believe me when I say that it doesn’t need to last forever and be repetitive. It’s all about changing your mindset. See every obstacle as an opportunity. See every hardship as a challenge, and an opportunity to improve. See every tragedy as having sturdier legs to stand up.
2012 – thank you so much for happening to me. Thank you for filling it with these great happenings, alongside my ever growing number of friends ( bloggers, brand friends, even customers are included there! eeeveryone!!! ) , in which I am really so happy for. Thank you for everyone, each and every single one of you who I have interacted, and shared 2012 with. I believe that people cross paths for a reason, and thank you for walking into my life, and changing my life somehow!
Thank you, Lord for keeping my family intact and happy. These simple pleasures in life, I would not trade for anything else in this world. I thank God for every good thing in life that comes my way, and I also thank Him for the trials, as it is a sign that He wants me in shape and be a stronger person. I pray for a great 2013 for all of us. As Martha and I have agreed on, we are on the Age of Aquarius, and it means a shift of consciousness into a more peaceful, giving, and more selfless way of thinking. I’m looking forward to have that shift of consciousness in everyone, and let us just keep on spreading good vibes all year round, shall we?
I end this entry with one of my favorite childhood songs, for a wish this 2013,
I’d like to teach the world to sing
in perfect harmony.
A song of peace that echoes on
and never goes away.Put your hand in my hand
let’s begin today,
With your hand in my hand
help me find a way.
