BB creams. Ahhh. I have such a love and hate relationship with them!

My friend who has normally flawless skin swears by BB creams and urges me to try them, but I would have to explain to her that I have visible pores, and I have really oily skin that makes it not so ideal to use BB cream. I actually like how BB creams would look on my face, really flawless given the really good ones, but sometimes, the oil control component is a bit difficult in my hopeless case!

This new concept by Laneige, called Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion piqued my curiosity, as it is not BB cream in tube form. It’s housed in a compact, and it has a sponge there that’s just filled with BB Cream! Laneige supplies a sponge there, but I somehow found it better to apply it with my trusty liquid foundation brush, or stippling brush.

Suuuper naturally flawless! I love it!

So here’s me, wearing the Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion in shade 23. It’s a medium shade that’s just perfect for me! ( By the way, it comes in three shades, a shade lighter than this, and a shade darker than this. ) I did not apply any coverage further, as I was on vacation. I wanted my makeup to look just natural, and not look overly made up. The only thing I added on the BB cream layer on my face was Make Up For Ever’s HD Finishing Powder. Let’s face it, my skin is oily, so I just need that extra layer of oil control!

Speaking of oil control, during my Australia trip, wearing this product did not cause me any oilies. Maybe it’s because it was really cold there. Actually, for trips abroad where the weather is colder, I would really encourage this, if you don’t want to apply too much on your skin. Not only do you get that moisture on your skin from a moisturizer, you also get added SPF 50+ PA++. So, this product is a moisturizer, sunblock, and semi-foundation in one! I really loved this that I did not need to bring moisturizer during my Australian trip.

Going back to the Philippine weather, this still goes well on me, but I would just have to apply my good ol finishing powder to set it, and help it stay good throughout the day. I would say that retouch would be needed for those with really oily skin – I have noticed, that after 4 hours, my skin would look like it would need retouching already. But then, I would not mind the extra effort – just look how flawless my skin looks with it! I’m in love!

I would give this product a big thumbs up sign – really light texture, great coverage, good qualities like moisturizing the skin and an impressive SPF 50+ PA++, and an overall flawless coverage on the skin! I would not hesitate to repurchase another one of this once the compact, and its refill run out!
