A few weeks ago, I had so much fun at Shiseido’s event that was for beauty bloggers, and members of the press. At the Ampitheatre of Greenbelt 5, the guest of honor was no other than the Regional Training Manager for Asia, Ms. Angela Boh. She was there to teach us makeup tips and tricks!

Angela Boh did a makeup demo on applying makeup, the Shiseido way. What I learned from this demo, was that you need to layer foundation little by little if you want more coverage, and not slap a thick pack of it in an instant just because you need alot of coverage. She was also able to use the famed Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush, an angled flat top brush, to apply almost everything, from liquid foundation, to applying powder foundation, and even blush on! The key is control on your hands. Apply with even, medium strokes for liquid products, and apply feather-light for powder products, and blend well. I also got a trick that for fuller, and a beautiful mascara application, while the mascara wand is on the base of the eyelashes, let it stay there for 5 seconds or so, to make the base darker, and make the eyes more well-defined. Japanese makeup is really different from Western makeup, as the key is really a flawless canvass ( the face ), and the features would merely be well-defined in the most subtle, natural manner. Don’t be fooled by the word “subtle,” as there are alot of tricks to bring out one’s features naturally!
Aside from the demonstration that tremendously refreshed me with makeup ( I loved it! ), Shiseido also introduced the star products of the day – the new products from Shiseido from the 2012 Autumn/Winter Collection :

Lacquer Rouge Collection – lip gloss that is opaque enough to be lipcolors and standalone products for the lips

the Lacquer Rouge is THIS pigmented! I’m in love, specifically with the pinks of the collection!

and the new Radiant Lifting Foundation, Shiseido’s addition to their impressive roster of their always sold out foundations ( because they’re THAT good! )
After the demo, and teaching us some tips and tricks, it was announced that there was a contest on makeup application. Models were brought out, and I was assigned to my new friend, Shella ( whom I can’t find on Facebook! Find me please? haha! )

This is Shella before, and this is her after look, courtesy of me!

I had so much fun, and I think it’s been a long time that I’ve done a makeover on someone. With my super busy schedule, I consider this a small break from it all, and just doing what I really love. I really enjoyed doing Shella’s makeup!

The winners for the day were ( heehee my favorite and girl-crush! ) Agoo Bengzon of Preview, and my good friend Angela Nepomuceno of Lushangel.com. I’m happy for them! Well-deserved! They were joined in the photo by the beautiful brand manager of Shiseido Philippines, Jen Jimenez-Yalung, and Celeste Echavez, Training and Workshop Manager for Shiseido Philippines, and Ms. Angela Boh.
As for my class picture, I had it with my little sister Brigitte :

What I learned from this day ? I love the Autumn/Winter collection and will check out the lacquer rouge products! I think they’re pretty much like the MAC lipglasses, but a bit more opaque. Sometimes, I just have it difficult when my lips are really dry that I’d rather have color that is not drying on the lips. I believe this to be the solution to my problem. Looking at Shella’s after photo, I think that the Radiant Lifting Foundation also made her skin really look flawless and photogenic! I love it! Looks like I’m going shopping really soon for this!
