MAC Cosmetics Glamour Daze Launch : Because It’s The Holidays!

IMG_2793

This must be MAC Cosmetics’ grandest launch, and when they called in their special guests, everyone said yes in a heartbeat, because for one, MAC Cosmetics is a celebrity favorite, being the best bet in TV/movie makeup, and even moreso, a media favorite with having really interesting collections and collaborations! MAC Cosmetics is such a well-loved makeup brand that it deserved all the limelight it had that night!

I heart my MAC lipsticks ( too many shades to mention. Haha! ), MAC blushes, lipglasses, eyeshadows, and almost everything they have, so I was definitely present that night to support!

Stepping inside the event was like stepping into another world. Girls in retro costumes and makeup – designed by that of the same designer as Lady Gaga’s, they definitely made statements.

Contest Alert : Burberry Body Asks You, What Makes You Feel Sexy?

burberry_body_gold_edp_instore_POS_Visual_C_1.41

Introducing Burberry Body Rose Gold to the Burberry Body collection

Eau de Parfum in a limited edition rose gold design, celebrating the first anniversary of Burberry Body

Distinctive, multi-faceted rose gold hued lacquered bottle
Woody floral scent reflecting the effortless sensuality of the Burberry girl

Hey everyone!

I’m back with a really fun contest for all of you! Our friends over at Luxasia has extended Beautynomics readers a super cool treat, and the prize up for grabs is a Burberry Body gift pack worth P6,000!

I’m excited to give this out, because at first whiff, I was instantly allured! The Burberry Body Rose Gold Eau de Parfum is not your ordinary night perfume that smells heavy and powdery. This takes sexy to the next level – it’s fresh, the floral notes veer away from the fresh florals but they’re not on the heavy side, that it’s intriguing. This makes me want to spritz on fragrance every single day as this is truly a unique scent that I haven’t encountered for a while, and I love it! Just a funny story, when I spritzed this perfume for the first time, my seatmate ( in the office ) who doesn’t say a word to me told me that it was really fragrant, and my mom, coming from the other room, surprisingly arrived and told me, “so you sprayed on the perfume. I could smell it from the other room.” ( hey, for the record, the “other room” had the connecting door to my room and my room’s door was open! ) I was so shocked, but it happened! I’d love to smell sexy just like that, that it affects people! Hahaha! Continue reading

Guess who took the idea of being in sleepwear attire for an event, and really wore…sleepwear, and even looked as if she’s ready for bedtime?

Beautynomics Review : Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion

laneige

BB creams. Ahhh. I have such a love and hate relationship with them!

My friend who has normally flawless skin swears by BB creams and urges me to try them, but I would have to explain to her that I have visible pores, and I have really oily skin that makes it not so ideal to use BB cream. I actually like how BB creams would look on my face, really flawless given the really good ones, but sometimes, the oil control component is a bit difficult in my hopeless case!

This new concept by Laneige, called Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion piqued my curiosity, as it is not BB cream in tube form. It’s housed in a compact, and it has a sponge there that’s just filled with BB Cream! Laneige supplies a sponge there, but I somehow found it better to apply it with my trusty liquid foundation brush, or stippling brush. Continue reading

Beautynomics Review : Face of Australia Blush in Primrose

Guess where I’ve been a few weeks ago…

It has probably got to be the most beautiful country I’ve been to, so far. Well, equally with Canada.

Guess, guess guess? Okay, it’s too obvious by my subject! Yes, I went to Australia a few weeks ago for a vacation, and life has never been the same. You can just hear me babble endlessly about my great finds there, but the greatest find would have to be the beautiful sceneries of the ocean-side, and countryside in Melbourne!

Anyway, since I was going there, I thought that it would be fun to bring along my Face of Australia Blush in Primrose, as it is such a versatile shade of rose pink, that I can pair with almost any lip color! Continue reading

Fairydrops Now in the Philippines!

I’ve been hearing this brand alot for years now, with my friends always buying some from abroad, and even asking me to buy extra for them to give away as gifts for Christmas. They must love it so much, so when I bought some for a friend while I was in Hong Kong, I also bought some for myself, just buying randomly, and picking a good color, not knowing what is the difference of one to another! Haha!

Fairydrops is a Japanese cosmetics brand that specializes in their mascaras. Their mascaras have a cult following that is not only within Asia, but also in the US, with it being a bestseller in Sephora!

Pamper Time at Mod Lei Nail & Day Spa

I must admit that I haven’t been frequenting spas, at least, this year, for that much-needed pampering. Things have been just so busy!

I’m just so happy that friends Jamie and Justin have been constantly reminding me about their invite to visit their spa, Mod Lei Studio, situated in the heart if Katipunan ( very near Ateneo! ), to try out their services.

IMG_2135

I have always been fans of these two girls. I’m a Venus & Mars Botanicals fan myself, and I really patronize their products. I particularly love their Never A Bad Hair Day Shampoo that is really helpful and non-reactive towards my scalp dermatitis. I also love their Smooch Lip Detox that I would shout over and over again, as one of the best lip balms that I’ve ever tried! Continue reading

Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte Lipstick : My Idea of Matte Perfection

IMG_2230

In the sea of Shu Uemura lipsticks here, what would you want to choose?

I like matte. Long-wearing matte. But with my issue with matte lipsticks getting tight on my lips and eventually flaking from dryness, I’ve been trying to steer away from matte lipsticks.

Thank you to Shu Uemura, that they have created the perfect formula for the perfect matte lipstick! It’s matte, it glides effortlessly on the lips ( no tugging, ma! ), it stays on forever, and last but not the least…it.does.not.dry.out.the.lips! Heavensent!

Clinique Chubby Sticks : Beautiful Lips, Anytime!

DSC_8376

This is considered a sneak peak about my travel entry about Melbourne, Australia, which will happen in a few days!

As I was preparing for a long trip ( a week’s worth, the most time I can afford this part of the year, ) , I was taking in consideration the weather. Melbourne was going to be cold. I would usually just bring one really versatile shade of lipstick for my lipcolor, and that’s it. But then, I was afraid that I’d have really dry lips! It was just in time that Clinique sent me a pack of their Clinique Chubby Sticks for roadtest, that well, I brought the entire pack to Melbourne! It’s too funny, but somehow, I felt at peace by bringing these babies, as I love Clinique lip products!

In a nutshell, let me tell you about my observations about the Clinique Chubby Sticks :

* They look like cute crayons! I feel like using a pen applying this on my lips!

* They apply sheerly on the lips, but really give the lips a beautiful, really natural color. It’s as if you have luscious, kissable lips. No opaque color here. In effect, this is perfect for that natural look, when you’re just going out to the mall, having a fun day out, or travelling! You wouldn’t need heavy makeup for travelling, but either way, you still need to look good, and this fits the bill. Haha!

* It does not make the lips chap or dry, as it keeps the lips moisturized, and adds more moisture to the lips. I like this aspect of it! No tight lips, or chapping lips by midday.

DSC_8188

me, not wearing any lipcolor. I don’t like it!!!

* This is my choice for lazy-lips-but-need-some-color-day. I just realized than in photos, if I don’t have lipcolor, I look like a ghost. Continue reading

A Fun Afternoon Doing Makeup The Shiseido Way

A few weeks ago, I had so much fun at Shiseido’s event that was for beauty bloggers, and members of the press. At the Ampitheatre of Greenbelt 5, the guest of honor was no other than the Regional Training Manager for Asia, Ms. Angela Boh. She was there to teach us makeup tips and tricks!

Classroom style!

I’m ready for this! We also have materials!

_MG_1229

Angela Boh did a makeup demo on applying makeup, the Shiseido way. What I learned from this demo, was that you need to layer foundation little by little if you want more coverage, and not slap a thick pack of it in an instant just because you need alot of coverage. She was also able to use the famed Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush, an angled flat top brush, to apply almost everything, from liquid foundation, to applying powder foundation, and even blush on! The key is control on your hands. Apply with even, medium strokes for liquid products, and apply feather-light for powder products, and blend well. I also got a trick that for fuller, and a beautiful mascara application, while the mascara wand is on the base of the eyelashes, let it stay there for 5 seconds or so, to make the base darker, and make the eyes more well-defined. Japanese makeup is really different from Western makeup, as the key is really a flawless canvass ( the face ), and the features would merely be well-defined in the most subtle, natural manner. Don’t be fooled by the word “subtle,” as there are alot of tricks to bring out one’s features naturally!
