Beautynomics Review : Clinique Even Better Foundation SPF 15

cliniqueevenbetter

I was one of the many devastated girls when Clinique Superfit Foundation was discontinued. I was like – ahhhh!! This was the best foundation, ever! But moving on, I was introduced to Clinique Even Better Foundation SPF 15. My initial reactions were, meh, this will never live up to Superfit’s legend, but then life must go on, right? I decided to give it a shot, and try it for a few months.

New Even Better Foundation SPF15 oil free formula, a powerful foundation developed to help combat hyper-pigmentation and deliver brighter skin, both immediately and over time. Includes treatment benefits to help even skin tone and SPF protection to help prevent future hyper-pigmentation. Provides moderate to full coverage, leaving skin instantly perfected with a unique mineral blend.

So after 3 months, what can I say about it?

Beautynomics Review : Organix Argan Oil Renewing Shampoo and Intensive Moisturizing Treatment

organix2

Ever since my hair’s been bleached, dyed in ash blonde, and had highlights, I’ve been really trying my best to give attention to my hair. I really do not want to end up having fried blond hair that I have seen on some people, so the challenge is really keeping my hair looking soft, smooth, and shiny every single time. I really feel that I have been paying even more attention to my hair than my skin nowadays!

Argan oil seems to be the magic word nowadays in the name of hair care. My life changed the moment I tried Snoe Beauty’s Hair Heroes Intense Argan Oil Cleansing Conditioner, and moreso when I tried The Souq Organics’ pure, cold-pressed Argan Oil. I’ve given glowing reviews to the two aforementioned products because they really did work wonders. Snoe Beauty’s Hair Heroes gave my hair crazy, intense moisture that made my hair look really healthy, and The Souq Organic’s Argan Oil was sort of a supplement to my hair in keeping it moisturized, specially the ends of my hair, which are supposed to be the first parts to get damaged by hair coloring. It also helped make my hair really shiny. So the next few products that I am about to try have really big shoes to fill, don’t you think?

It was quite a lazy Sunday, when I was out with the family shopping in Landmark, Makati. The place seems to have almost everything! Anyway, one idle, but gratifying pastime of mine is just making the rounds on the beauty section of department stores, and just checking out new product offerings. It was just my luck that I my eyes zoomed in on something – on a product with argan oil. Argan Oil! My eyes zoomed in further! Organix! Continue reading

Beautynomics Review : pureDKNY Verbena

This summer, stuffy scents are out, and the freshest scents are in! Light floral scents, fruity scents, and really clean scents are in demand right now. Heavy scents would just make me all dizzy and nauseous!

I have stumbled into the perfect scent of summer – purDKNY Verbena.

pureDKNY_verbena_with carton

The hybrid note which makes up pureDKNY Verbena, Verbena-Basil, as the species is known, is a delicate plant. Although an herb, it has a sparkling citrus, lemon-like quality. Verbena has been used in fragrances as well as infusions for centuries. This particular species has the additional green crisp nuance of basil providing amazing freshness and brightness to the oil. The fragrance has been crafted to accentuate the freshness of this raw material, balanced within a sophisticated light floral structure and supported with natural depth. The end result is a sparkling, wet fresh scent which personifies the pureDKNY brand.

Verbena? Is that vervain, the most uttered word in Vampire Diaries! As a Vampire Diaries junkie ( I hoped to stalk Damon in Manila Penn sigh ), I usually have fun laughing about Vampire Diaries terms with friends. When I saw a moonstone in Sri Lanka, I immediately thought of the moonstone, the werewolf-killer charm in Vampire Diaries. When I saw the word Verbena – I immediately thought that this is the plant that is grown on the Salvatore’s backyard that is used to contain and weaken vampires. Hahaha! Such romanticism and crazy ideas I have! Continue reading

Silka Premium Whitening Body Wash in Green Papaya and Papaya

Okay, here I am ranting about summer again. How ungrateful, right? Hahaha! I will always be thankful for beautiful sunshine, but to be honest, give me summer forever, but let me live in the beach! In the city, I feel like I’m about to faint with the heat, and the fumes, oh, don’t get me started!

So, the next best thing to going to beaches? The next best thing to cooling off such endless warmth with refreshing, cold beach water? Taking wonderful showers! Haha!

I have so much bath products in the shower this summer season, me being all eager to try them, as it is my favorite activity to do as of late! Haha! My new friends? Silka Premium Whitening Body Wash! Continue reading

Happy Mothers’ Day!

ACHIANDMAMA

Dear Mommy,

We’ve been together for the past 28 years, from the moment that I was born. You’ve seen me grow up, starting from a sometimes quiet, sometimes wailing baby, going thru the the wonders of toddlerhood, to the brattiness of that age just before the awkwardness of puberty. Now, you are with me in my almost mid-life crisis. You’ve been with me all my life, protected me from all the monsters of the world for as much as you can, fed me with your delicious cooking, and took care of me when I was sick. Sometimes, I would think that what you do is so hard as you have 5 of us to take care of, and that you’d rouse awake to tend to us the moment one of us complains of discomfort or a sick feeling. I thought – you almost never thought of yourself, forgot about taking care of yourself just to tend to our needs.

Beautynomics Review : Clinique Superbalanced Mineral Powder

clq_6RN3_250

It’s the summer, and I’m all feeling warm and icky, that heavy makeup just isn’t an option. No matter how much I love makeup that it smoothens my raw, imperfect skin, my nerves act up with heavy stuff, and my nerves are demanding that they usually win.

This summer, I take solace with Clinique’s Superbalanced Mineral Powder. As a mineral makeup fan, I have a soft spot for ground powder, and loose mineral powders that give coverage to the skin. They feel absolutely light on the skin, but give me ample coverage that is natural, and yet long lasting. Thru the years, I’ve experimented with mineral makeup, and traditional makeup, and I think mineral makeup really spoils the skin with its non pore-clogging qualities and the benefit that it allows the skin to breathe.

I love Clinique Superbalanced Mineral Powder as it’s so cute! This compact pot, when opened, reveals a grinding wheel, that as you turn, grinds out mineral powder for you to buff in your skin. It’s actually a mess-proof way of dispensing mineral makeup!

I got my shade in Medium, which is great for light to medium skin tones. I’d like to give you a series of pros and cons of this product, so here I go!

Get Than Shine On With Bedhead Headrush!

HeadrushLG

One thing that I am most particular about, when it comes to hair care, is the shine factor of the hair. I love shiny, reflective hair. Shiny hair is actually healthy hair, as it means that the strands are not damaged, and the hair strand even enough to reflect its color, and produce shine.

For me, shiny hair ( of course, considerably shiny, not oily hahaha! ) is such a head turner!

When I was given a chance to choose which Bedhead products I am to review, I immediately chose Headrush with the description I was given – which was, to give the hair such amplified shine, great for natural hair, and even for highlights.

For its description, Headrush is :

Shine Adrenaline with a Superfine Mist
A lightweight aerosol supershine mist that gives explosive shine for immaculate, healthy looking hair.

For the ingredients,
