Shu-Uemura-Celestial-Garden-Collection-Spring-Summer-2012

the world above the clouds, surrounded by overflowing positive energy, full of colors and full of light.

the same scenery, the same world can look so different, if seen with all your senses full open.

unchain yourself, play with the colors, enjoy make-up, and above all enjoy precious moments that exist in your life.

For Spring, Shu Uemura has launched Celestial Garden, and just by taking a look at the campaign photo, we are talking about fresh, fresh shades!

Here are my thoughts with regards to some the products that are included in the collection :

The eyeshadow trios for the Celestial Garden Collection are made of one bright, one shimmery, and one darker shade. I love each one of them, and oh, if only I could combine all the colors from all three palettes, it would be such a beautiful combination! I got the pink-orange-brown combo, and it is such a versatile eyeshadow palette that I can definitely use for a feminine day look, and further deepen it with the brown and amplify the pink shimmer by night time. Three words – fresh, fresh, fresh! Guaranteed!

The Shu Uemura Double Eye Crayon includes two shades – misty brown, and earthy brown. I must just say that I have welcomed this eye crayon duo in my makeup kit with wide, open arms! If you’re a smoky eye makeup addict like I am, or okay, let’s say an eye-definition addict, you’ll cherish this as much as I do! For light makeup days, I use this to smoke out my lashline and just make my eyes pop in the most deceiving, subtle way. This can even fare as an eyeshadow – from the lashline going up, use the darker shade to draw on the bottom part, then use the lighter shade as you go up. You’ll obtain an instant gradient with it, and the result is just lovely! I find myself bringing this in my makeup kit and using this for my makeup every single time. LOVE.

When it comes to cream blushers, I usually really hold back, and hesitate to try. My skin type’s extremely oily, and only powder blushers work and stay on me. Giving the Shu Uemura Creamy Dome Blusher a try definitely made me change the way I think about cream blushers, at least this particular one! I got the Fairy Pink shade, which is somewhat a peach pink shade, and as I gave this a try and swiped it on my cheeks, I’m glad that it shaded my cheeks well – and dried into a powder finish! How wonderful! I’m so glad that after hours and hours it didn’t slide off my skin. For this summer, this has been my staple, as it is easy to apply ( just remove the cap, swipe, and use fingers to blend! ) , and it stays put on my cheeks! I’m all praises about this one!

I was even surprised with the lip glosses of Shu Uemura. I used to think that lip glosses were all the same – giving the usual, obligatory shine and their job is done, but this one’s such a winner. It gives such a luscious, 3d, and youthful shine! Take a look at Sharlyn’s photo below, I used the Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Gloss Unlimited in Blooming Pink on her ( used alone ) and it was such a great lip color for her graduation! I truly appreciated the quality of this lip gloss.

I love her gloss here! Worn alone, would you believe?

Shu Uemura Whitefficient UV Underbase Brightening Mousse

To be honest, I’ve always ignored Shu Uemura UV Underbase products for the longest time. Why? It’s because they’re not silicone-based, and my skin needed fillers to have smooth makeup application. They were most raved about by my other beauty blogger friends, but I just wasn’t convinced enough. But giving this particular variant a try – it was actually a revealing experience. As you pump product out, foam, just like a hair mousse spurts out. I proceed to apply on my face, and my face turns in a different shade – purply-fied ( is there such a word! ) . This is different from the usual Shu Uemura UV Underbase because it has a pinkish/purplish tinge to it, that brightens the face. It cancels out sallow skin tones, and makes skin luminously bright.

Yup, as predicted, it didn’t fill in my pores, BUT it brightened my skin beautifully, made it look luminous AND it was actually really effective in mattifying my face, and making my makeup stay! I suddenly felt ridiculous for the product that I have been looking for has been in my vanity table for years and I simply ignored it. I would have to compromise by applying a silicone-based primer prior to applying this, and my makeup would already be perfect!

Whew, that was long! Actually, I’m a little late in posting this because I have been enjoying the products so much! I didn’t expect to enjoy these Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Collection products so much that I freaked out, and almost died ( in spirit ) when my overnight makeup kit went missing, with majority of these babies were inside the kit! Good thing my friend found my makeup kit, and I am reunited with these babies!

To end this entry, let me share with you my makeup ( I have previously posted about this, but this is about Sarabeth’s makeup teehee ) that I have done for Sarabeth’ 18th Birthday party – I used Shu Uemura products here :

A2

* Used Shu Uemura Whitefficient UV Underbase as brightening primer
* Used Shu Uemura Double Eye Crayon to line her lashline, upper and lower, and shaded 1/4 of her lids, half of it with the darker shade, and half of it with the lighter shade, going up
* Used the orange shade of the Shu Uemura Eyeshadow Trio on top of the shaded area of the Shu Uemura Double Eye Crayon

Well, I can’t wait for Shu Uemura‘s next makeup collections! Consider me a convert!
