glam

They say we look alike.

and that, is probably why I am so hands-on with her with her prom preparations, it’s like me going to the prom over and over again! Last year was quite an experience for us ( I describe it as exciting, exhilarating, and refreshing ), and as this is Sarabeth’s last year in High School, and she is attending the Junior-Senior Prom again, hello??? Sister Sophie is on top of all things!

Here’s Sarabeth bare-faced, squeaky clean of anything. Sigh, I miss that kind of youth wherein you can just wear your face like that, look really cute, and just be happy! Well, what’s my idea for her look?

Anything but ordinary. Reason? Because it’s what she is. Extraordinary. I am in fact so proud of her that she has self-studied herself into excellence maintaining good grades, and being on the swim team. I sometimes feel so bad for her that she stays late at night to finish alot of homework, and studies really hard for exams, and takes her studies seriously. She’s also a super-friend who is always smiling, always positive, and has the corniest jokes *kidding, Sugar!*

Going back, I want glam. Really glam! Sorry, no simple, no natural look for the prom – that’s my idea, at least! Last year was a statement that she wasn’t going to the prom unprepared. This year, with her gown in bold purple, I am unable to give her that ultra-glam smoky eyes that I’ve always felt chinitas should sport as they would look their best in it ( trust me, I’m all for smoky eyes! ) With that, I am challenged to play with light colors on the eyes. But with Sarabeth having droopy eyes, my corrective-obsession just surfaced, and the challenge was on!

So, let me show you my masterpiece!

smile!!!

Tadah! Do you like it?

For her eyes, I applied a wash of really shimmery pink eyeshadow on her lids, then made a contour on her lids. I also applied black eyeliner on her lashline, flicking up to give the illusion of bigger eyes.

For a rundown of the products used on Sarabeth :

Face :

Goodskin Labs Smooth 365 Primer
mixed Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation
Coverfx Mineral Powder in M40
Palgantong Theatrical Powder

Bobbi Brown Blush in Pretty Pink and Peony
Sleek Contour Kit in Light ( Medium looked too muddy on her )

Eyes :

K-Palette Eyebrow Pen
In2It Eyebrow Trio
MAC Browset in Girlboy

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Make Up For Ever Dany Sanz Palette
Beauty PRO Sweet and Smoky Palette

MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

3s Self Adhesive False Eyelashes in Lovely
Fairy Drops Mascara ( hey, this is not so bad! )

Lips

MAC Lipstick in Lovelorn ( this shade is just sooo pretty! )

I really like that it turned out to look really sweet, but sophisticated! I could not help but have some awww moments that our baby is really turning into a lady! Really, she is turning 18 this March, can you believe that?

and I, looked really haggard that day prettifying a princess. Hahaha!

Mich Cabrera whipping her hair prowess on my two ladies!

What I also love? Of course, to complete the look, is her precious, precious gown made by the really talented Zandra Lim! Zandra is the designer behind Nikki‘s and my cousin Cherry’s wedding gowns, and I am really happy that I turned to her to have her make Sarabeth’s prom dress! Too bad, Sarabeth is too small that I won’t fit into this beautiful gown! ( if you are thinking what I told Zandra my idea was for Sarabeth’s gown, it all boiled down in one word – bongga. Hahaha! )

Last but not the least, I am totally loving the glitter heels. I actually bought this pair from Jean and Rosz during our bazaar neighbor days last December, and maybe it was just fate that it looked perfect with Sarabeth’s dress that we had to forego the pink shoes that I also bought for her!

Well, unexpected surprises are in this season as I was shocked and really happy to know that Sarabeth was nominated to be prom queen that night! Proud sister hen moment! She didn’t win, but hey, that’s a really great thing already to be recognized that night, and if you ask me, she’s the winner in my book! ( as all little girls are prom queens in their own way! )

prom3

Just HAD to share this photo of her with her BFF Andrea. I taught her how to smile on photos, but I certainly did NOT teach her how to pose! She did this on her own. Socialite in the making? Hahahaha! meganonz! Sigh. Nene no more!
Here’s to sweetest little girl in the whole wide world. I really, really hope that you stay this sweet, and love me forever, Sugar This year, you’re finally off to your new adventure, which is college. I can’t wait to see you grow up and conquer the world!
