blonde

Legally Blonde must be one of favorite feel-good movies, I love Elle Woods!

When I first watched Legally Blonde, all I did was idolize Reese Witherspoon, and her wonderful Barbie look – her blonde hair, blue eyes, and all those pink outfits! I would always wonder, what would it be like to be a blonde? I toyed with that thought, and every now and then, I’d kid my sister that I wanted my hair to be colored blonde as I wanted a lighter hair color. They all thought it was a joke.

Until a few weeks ago, when I came back from my salon date with Brigitte.

As the really busy December and bazaar season were over, Brigitte and I decided on a spontaneous salon date on a Sunday morning to revive our tresses and have that much-needed color retouch on our hair.

Brigitte, posing with all our wonderful food!!! I love Army Navy!!!

We first grabbed yummy burritos, fried chicken, and reaaally good freedom fries at Army Navy. That was quite a lunch.

Then, we headed to Creations Salon. Ever since I let Creations do my hair color more than 6 months ago, I’ve never looked back. I went back for color retouching, and even went for highlights. I really love my hair color (before I went blonde), and really, my biggest thanks to them for giving me such vibrant, beautiful hair color at a very affordable price! ( at P2,000 for hair color, P 2,000 for highlights, and P1,500 for retouching – not bad, right? )

Now, Lourd Ramos was there when we came in, and he told us that he was going to be in charge of our hair coloring session. He decided the color for me, and he told me that I could go blonde. Ash blonde. I was thinking, oh, here’s my chance, and with all the stress I’ve gone through at work, I think I can go playful this Holidays! So I agreed, and let him do his magic! He promised me ash blonde hair with bright blonde highlights. I closed my eyes, and let the staff at Creations do the rest.

Getting ready for my new hair!

While waiting for the final result, I was getting excited, and scared at the same time. Excited, as I am always game to transform, and I am very experimental with my looks (maybe not with eye makeup so much, but more on my hair, actually!), but I was thinking – will I be able to pull it off? Will I have enough confidence to hold my head up high? I mean, a blonde haircolor is not common here, and is sort of an audacious choice of hair color. I really admire Bianca Valerio for being able to pull it off so beautifully, and well, she looks like a doll, with any hair! But me…hahahaha!

I was also thinking of what my parents would think. My parents are very conservative, and so are my relatives, and friends. But well, I thought, this is what I want, and I want to try something new before I am even too old to try this. So I shrug off thinking on what people would think, sink away my worries, and get excited and welcome the new me for the Holidays and 2012. It’s worth a try – if I don’t like it, I can always dye it back to black! Haha!

So fast forward around two hours, let me show you my new hair…

my new hair! I must really love curls!

after my curls loosened up, during dinner. I like this even better!

Okay, I let them use a curling iron and curl my hair. I love curly locks! How do you like my new hair?

When I came home with my hair, just imagine the shock of my parents and my sisters. It actually took them a few days to get used to my hair, and it actually took me a few days to get used to my hair myself! I feel pretty different, though I feel that I am going to enjoy this experience. New challenges in maintaining this hair color, new makeup techniques as my features get washed out because of the color, and even selected lip colors that would go well with my hair color. All of that, I shall be updating you with a Blonde Hair 101 with my experience with my new hair. This is an exciting experience, and I believe that I will be able to tell my grandchildren one day that once in my life, I’ve done something bold, and went blonde! It might be a small step for me, but I feel that it would boost my confidence more into trying out new stuff, and being my own person – knowing what I want, and going for it.

A few days after, I went to dinner with smoky eyes, I need more eye makeup to make my features pop and go along with my new hair :

smoky eye makeup days, here we come!

playing with my iPhone, enjoying my new look. Smoky eyes + blonde = Holiday fun!

I will not deny that I have had a few surprised reactions from my friends – some were wowed, some were shocked (deeming it was too light), and I was told that I looked k-pop. With getting so much reactions, I think I must really get ready, and face this! Haha! I like it, and it’s all that matters.

Well, how do you like my new hair?
