MAC Cosmetics Iced Delights Lip Bag in Wintercool

DSC_6085

When I went to Cebu for the opening of MAC Cosmetics’ new branch there, it was also the launch of the Glitter and Ice Collection, and the Holiday gift sets were all there! I was immediately drawn to a gorgeous nude lipstick, which was actually the Iced Delights Lip Bag in Wintercool from the Ice Parade Collection. Call me impulsive, but I bought that set, for the love of the lipstick alone! Well, here are my thoughts about the Iced Delights Lip Bag in Wintercool .

The MAC Cosmetics Iced Delights Lip Bag in Wintercool contains three lip essentials – a travel-sized Stripdown Lip Liner , Crème d Nude Cremesheen Lipstick, and Fashion Whim Cremesheen Lipglass. Did you hear that? Cremesheen. Best MAC lipstick formula on Earth – alongside Amplified (don’t you agree?)It’s what made me love MAC lipsticks – these two formulas that glide like cream on the lips, give really good coverage and creamy color to the lips! Beautynomics Makeover : I’ve Gone Legally Blonde!

blonde

Legally Blonde must be one of favorite feel-good movies, I love Elle Woods!

When I first watched Legally Blonde, all I did was idolize Reese Witherspoon, and her wonderful Barbie look – her blonde hair, blue eyes, and all those pink outfits! I would always wonder, what would it be like to be a blonde? I toyed with that thought, and every now and then, I’d kid my sister that I wanted my hair to be colored blonde as I wanted a lighter hair color. They all thought it was a joke.

Until a few weeks ago, when I came back from my salon date with Brigitte.

As the really busy December and bazaar season were over, Brigitte and I decided on a spontaneous salon date on a Sunday morning to revive our tresses and have that much-needed color retouch on our hair.

The Best Christmas Gifts : Amber Lights Laguna Reed Diffuser and Room Spray

amber

putting Amber Lights Laguna home scents in their own respective gift bags!

I’m the sharing kind of person. Whenever I love something, I really make sure that I get to share it with people I love during the Holidays. I’ve gifted lip glosses, lipsticks, makeup, and even makeup brushes for Christmas for the past few years, but this year, it’s different.

This year, I’ve taken a liking to Amber Lights Laguna‘s scents for the home. Yes, not everyone will get to appreciate makeup, or wear makeup as frequently as I do, and not all my friends are girls. Amber Lights Laguna’s home scents make me get closer to my friends as I let them smell tranquility and splendour in their own personal space. So there – it’s my gift idea for this year!

Amber Lights Laguna’s Reed Diffusers are just fantastic as you only need to pop open the bottle, and the scent seeps thru as you place the reed sticks in the bottle, filling the room with wonderful, natural scents! For an easier, heavenly scent , whenever you want, or wherever you want it to be – Amber Lights Laguna’s Room Sprays make excellent gifts. You simply spray it on your surroundings or in any room you are in, and you are immediately transported to your happy place!

My must-try scents from Amber Lights Laguna include :

Venus and Mars Naturals : My Choice of Organic Bath & Body Products!

IMG_1688

Jamie and Justin, LOVE your new labels! teehee

Dear Jamie and Justin, aka the tag-team behind Venus and Mars Naturals,

I must admit that I’m a bit wary about organic products. Yes, they are devoid of harsh chemicals and preservatives, and yes, it makes our hormones not wage war against us. Yup,according to naturopaths and book I read called The Hormone Diet, parabens and chemicals affect our hormones – the way we binge, the way we act, and the way we feel, so it is best to try organic products to have a calm serenity inside our body. But then, people in the cosmetics field would say that organic products relied on pure ingredients but lacked enough research to deem it truly effective. It was a battlefield in my mind with regards to organic products – I’d like them for their fresh, unadulterated scents, but I would get dubious, from time to time, with their effectivity. The Beauty In Us, and in Everyone

Girls and boys, I would like to start this entry by sharing with you a video that made Sophie tear up in the middle of a delicious dinner.

Okay, done? Let’s go on with my stream of thoughts.

When asked to answer the question, “What do I love about myself?” I also found myself in the situation of the other girls in the video, paused a bit, and tried to think if there was any body part that I thought that I’d be proud of. Hmmm, hmmm, and hmmm. I don’t really like my hair – I have gray in which I need to color my hair frequently, I don’t like my skin, I feel I’m growing fatter by the minute, and well, okay, stop Sophie. All that negativity and self-image issues! I finally settled with telling myself, that I love my eyes – the color of my eyes, that is. My eyes are small, and my lids are hooded, hard to apply makeup and make bigger (here we go again), but I would like to say that I love its color- they’re naturally hazel brown, I got it from my dad, as I would find myself from time to time being asked by people if I wore contacts. But well, it’s just that. Continue reading

MAC Cosmetics Opens in Cebu and Glitter & Ice Collection Launch

DSC_5863

MAC Cosmetics has a new home in Ayala, Cebu!

Cebu will always have that soft spot in my heart, as I have fallen in love with it the moment I landed in that lovely island (thanks, Dee!) The surroundings are very laid back and I don’t feel any stress there, the people are beautiful (I would have to insist!), the resorts are very nice ( I LOVE Mactan Shangri-la ), and most of all, it’s a food heaven there. Yes, heaven, heaven heaven is CNT and Rico’s Lechon, Cafe Laguna, and so much more!

But now, it is slowly becoming a heaven for beauty lovers, as MAC Cosmetics had their official launch last Thursday there! I am so sure that alot of Cebuanos/Cebuanas were really excited about this as I have friends from there who love MAC Cosmetics and still buy them from Manila, and even abroad. Now, they don’t need to leave their homebase to get their beauty fix! I’m so happy for Cebu, I’m so happy for beauty lovers in Cebu!

Now, I need to thank MAC Cosmetics for taking me and Shen with them during their launch in Cebu to join their celebration! That also marked the day of the official launch of MAC Cosmetics’ Holiday Collection – Glitter & Ice. Let me tell you about the event through photos, shall we?

MAC Cosmetics Glitter & Ice Collection

GlitterandIce-Beauty-300

Every Holiday season, I find myself always, always anticipating about MAC Cosmetics’ Holiday Collection. I’ve never been more impressed by a brand that takes so much effort, and weaves tales of fantasies that take our mind to exotic holidays – take for example, last year’s a Tartan Tale took us to the beautiful, majestic highlands, and now, we’re being taken to somewhere we’ve never imagined – to snow wonderland, where futuristic soldiers of beauty skate around and fill our Holiday fix.

This year’s Glitter & Ice Collection is just so beautiful that it takes me away to somewhere I can “freeze” time and just feast in fanciful thoughts – beautiful glitter, crystalline ice – oh, I can definitely rest my mind there. Can they take me as the Snow Queen? Haha!

Anyway, here are the products of the Glitter & Ice Collection. I have attended their launch a few days ago, and I shall tell you more about it in one of my next posts!

I’m Back, and It’s Time To Feel Christmas

snowball

my kind of snow globe

Christmas, or the Holiday season, must be my favorite time of the year. The weather is pleasing and cold, and I like staying in bed to relax during December. I also love Christmas shopping, and thinking of what gifts I’d like to give to my friends, and Christmas Eve dinners and New Years’ Eve dinners are super, thanks to my mom and sister who are just the best cooks. I also get to see my relatives for a mini gathering every December. I remember that as a kid, I’d love to dress up for our school’s Christmas party, and saying a temporary goodbye to my classmates who will be off for the Holidays. Opening presents as a kid makes me so happy too – thinking on how much thought a friend put in that Christmas present, or that Christmas card. Yes, I’m always in love with December, and I always love waiting for December to come every year. Too much beautiful memories of Christmas.

Grown up times – I would really, really take time off from work to join bazaars during November and December, as I like seeing people buying gifts for themselves, self-rewarding for a job well done or working too hard, and moreso buying gifts for their loved ones, thinking about how much they’d love it if they would get kikay/beauty stuff like my makeup brushes. I loved Holidays and gift-giving so much that I made packaging for my brushes in such a way that they can look like amazing presents. On another note, joining bazaars also meant some shopping money for gifts to my friends and family! So there, another one of my secrets! Continue reading
