Just recently, I have been awakened to the world of intensive body care, because I woke up with that thought planted in my head. No, I’m kidding.
Ever since I was influenced by my friend Janice, and tried whitening body treatments at Ellen’s Aesthetic Center ( I shall tell you more about it next time! ), I was really enlightened in the fact that I should be taking care of my body – not just the face, but my body as well. I’m that kind of girl who just uses body wash and enjoys dry skin, but this time, I was given the chance to see what I have actually done to myself – dry skin all over, and some occasional uneven skin tone brought about by going to the beach and just letting my color fade away, well, just stopping to see all of this did not give me a good feeling. Thus, I am undergoing some treatments that seek out to even out my skin tone and all that.
Anyway, remember how phobic I am with lotions? Yes, I still am, specially with those really thick, gooey moisturizers. I am still unable to sacrifice my sanity for those. I am thanking God right now that there are more bearable body lotions in the market that are less greasy, less fragrant ( I might be fond of scent-y body washes but I am not too much with lotions- but lemongrass and lavender might be an exception haha! ), and with maximum moisturizing effects. Yes, just like my past posts, I have always been seeking products that work like magic, an impossible person I am to please (haha!) and I’m glad that I have found my miracle body lotion in Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion.
Nivea Express Hydration is Nivea’s latest body lotion that promises to eradicate and address the 7 signs of dryness, namely : Dry, rough, unsmooth, tight, flaky, dull, itchy, peeling. ( Were they thinking about me? )
For beauty nerds like me, you might want to read about the science behind this remarkable product, backed up by technology that earned a Nobel Prize.
The basis for the worldwide exclusive technology is a discovery that earned the 2003 Nobel Prize for Chemistry: US-based molecular biologist Peter Agre discovered previously unknown proteins, which he called aquaporins. Aquaporins form microscopically small pores in the cell membrane that regulate the transport of water into and out of the cell. “The discovery of aquaporins also enabled us to see the skin’s moisture supply in a completely new light,” says Dr. Annika Schrader, Laboratory Manager in the Skin Aging area at Beiersdorf. “Our research showed that the number of aquaporins in the cell membrane can decide how effectively water is distributed in the skin. It became evident that dry skin has significantly fewer aquaporins than well hydrated skin. Therefore, the better the aquaporin network, the better the skin can be supplied with moisture.“ This discovery was followed by the next groundbreaking discovery of Beiersdorf’s research team: The skin’s own moisture network can be activated – with Hydra IQ!
The secret behind the one-of-a-kind formula is made up of glycerin and glucose, two vital substances for the skin and both identical to those found in nature. After numerous laboratory tests on skin cells, Beiersdorf’s skin researchers have discovered the optimum combination of both active ingredients to attain maximum effectiveness on aquaporins. Tests over two weeks prove that the moisture content of the skin increases significantly and water supply to the skin over time is also improved significantly. Even after three more days without use, the moisture content of the skin is clearly higher than that of untreated skin. Dr. Annika Schrader: “When many aquaporins are present, the water transport from the lower skin layers upwards can be increased. The water can flow more efficiently from cell to cell and be distributed optimally.”
With Hydra IQ, a new era in body care begins now: non-stop moisturizing for over 24 hours – the good feeling never ends!
Verdict? TRUE LOVE. HOLY GRAIL. Must-have. Let me count the ways why –
What I love about Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion:
* The texture feels so water-based to me. I’m not sure if this is water-based, but it gets absorbed in my skin easily, and I still have that comfortable, non-icky feel.
* I don’t feel greasy with this.
* You would expect that non-greasy body lotions don’t perform well, but in this case, this is quite different. It melts in your skin, but it moisturizes intensively. That’s what I love about it so much!
* The moisture stays on for hours. I might have not experienced the promised maximum effect of softness and smoothness for 24 hours, I definitely have felt the softness and moisture on my skin very much there after four to five hours, in a really cold, air-conditioned room! That’s good enough for me, because alot of lotions in the market just melt in my skin and do nothing.
* It’s almost scentless. No intruding scent.
* It’s sooo affordable! Prices are below :
75ml at SRP 26.00
125ml at SRP 65.00
250ml at SRP 120.00
400ml at SRP 220.00
plain crazy affordable.
To be honest, I’m all praises with Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion. It’s the best body lotion that I have ever tried, and I have just told myself that I am sticking with this body lotion from now on, as this will be a permanent part of my must-have beauty stuff! I am highly raving about this, and encourage everyone to try and see for themselves, the wonders of what Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion can do for their skin. Trust me, I’m hooked!
Now, I am praying, and pleading to the heavens, to keep my diligence with my newfound routine – applying body lotion twice a day! So far, I’m liking, and enjoying the experience! Any tips on how to keep this practice going? Haha!
