I knew it. This bathtub was waiting for me. Haha!

It was one lazy Saturday that I was feeling the need for pampering and de-stressing, that I entered Ellen’s Aesthetic Center for a day’s worth of pampering. To be honest, Ellen’s exuded that “old” feel that mature people would walk in to, because it’s been the oldest, if not, one of the oldest aesthetics/facial center in the country, boasting of 30 years in the market already. I honestly did not know what to expect, but I was open to experience anything ( like – wow me! )

Janice of Ellen’s Aesthetic Center had the day planned for me for a day’s worth of pampering and experiencing what Ellen’s Aesthetic Center was all about. First was an Ofuro Akasuri Treatment which was a relaxing beauty bath, with some body scrubbing that claimed to get rid of all the “libag” ( or a trial translation in English would be “skin dirt” or skin debris” ) on the skin surface. Well, I was so game for it! I was asked to change in a bathrobe, and escorted into this room, which had a shower bath, a flat bed, and ultimately, a bath tub!

Janice tells me that she had the most luxurious Ofuro bath in Japan years ago, and I don’t know if this experience was the one that inspired her to offer this service, which has been a popular offering of Ellen’s for years already. She tells me that Ofuro baths in Japan must be the secret of the Japanese who have just beautiful, soft skin, and true enough, the solution or bath salt ( I was not able to see what was applied ) was confirmed to have whitening qualities, while the water slowly softened my skin.

my favorite place specifically two weeks ago. I can stay here forever!

I was in bliss for half an hour in my “own” bath tub, de-stressing my mind, and worries away, while my body is massaged by the pressure of running water underneath. I wanted to stay there forever until I prune up. I swear!

As my time was up, I had to rise from the waters ( haha feeling like a mermaid! ) and head on to the massage table/bed ( it was not soft, it was more like a hard board with tolerable cushion ). It was designed that way because the body is supposed to lay flat there, and be scrubbed. The person who attended to me started wearing her mitts and scrubbing my body. It was abrasive, alright, and I was able to guide her which she should exert less pressure with, as the scrub might hurt, and she did not use any product. She just used the scrubbing mitt. Lo and behold, I saw traces of black “skin dirt” on the towel that was underneath me. The attendant was laughing at me when I said that I wanted to take a photo of it. Okay, I stopped myself. Haha!

After the Ofuro Akasuri treatment, I felt really clean and fresh. Consider me hooked with this treatment as I swear to have this skin-cleaning sesh every two months, maybe? Haha I hope time would allow! For P1,500.00, I really feel that this is worth the price – the price of a clean body. I must admit that I do forget to scrub once in a while because things can get really crazy with work, and this is one luxurious escape that would be beneficial for my body skin.

After the luxurious Ofuro Akasuri Treatment , I had the Vit-C scrub that promised whitening effects. Well, I have yet to see the whitening effects – perhaps after 2 or more sessions!

On to my next adventure – the attendant noticed my worn out feet ( it had blisters from my booties! ) that she suggested a foot spa session prior to the massage that I wanted to have. Oh, wait, let me share with you on how their foot spa area looks like. Absolutely gorgeous, don’t you think?

The foot spa area is SUCH a revelation!

Pink cushioned chairs, and I gotta love how luxurious this all looks!

The foot spa experience ( at P 300.00 ) was such a revelation. The attendant was so meticulous, and so attentive that I felt that I was not rushed. She scrubbed, removed whatever needed removing, and my feet were just feeling great right after. I’d highly recommend this service as it is not only affordable, the staff is intensely meticulous, and the ambience is really nice.

I love Lisa who did the foot spa. She is so good, and just so nice!

As my foot spa experience ended, I was thinking if I should get a manicure and pedicure. It was priced rather reasonably, at P 150 and P 200 respectively, and the chair looked really nice, that I would feel special just sitting on it! Haha! But then, I was pressed with time that that was all I could do for the day. I was actually eyeing to have their massage as well, because it was only P1,200.00 for two hours, and I was told that the massage therapists here were trained very, very well. Plus, the massage room was just so inviting. Maybe next time!

Overall, if you’re looking for a day’s worth of pampering and relaxation, I would highly recommend Ellen’s Aesthetic Center Timog Branch, because it not only has a facial center, it also has a Whitening and Day Spa Center on the third floor, that you can do just about anything inside Ellen’s – have a body scrub, have a massage, have a foot spa /mani-pedi, or even add some facial services or slimming services, or if you’re feeling adventurous, some permanent cosmetics! It has everything you need in one establishment that it is the perfect getaway when you’re feeling unpretty and need some self-loving. I was pretty wowed by the ambience as I did not expect it to look that luxurious, specially the Day Spa area, but consider me a convert in terms of body services. I’m definitely trying their massage next!

If you’d like to spend a day of pamper and relaxation, head on to Ellen’s, book in advance to make sure there are slots!
