Oh, I just love being a girl. Doing makeup, playing dress up, and oh, shopping! Can’t I thank the Lord for I was born female this lifetime?

Yes, this blog Beautynomics was born because of my budding love for beauty – may it be skin care, body care, and even makeup, I just love them all, and the topics just shift from my mood, in whatever I’m getting interested it at a point in time.

I do have a confession to make to all of you. My makeup skills come out when I feel really stressed, or I’m not feeling too good about myself. There just comes the need to look good to somehow appreciate yourself, and finally, be happy! It’s like putting on some killer lens that you see the world in a brighter, and cooler way. So as I was really swamped with work this week ( oh, so much! ) and I wasn’t feeling too pretty lately, I’ve decided to go to the House of Obagi event all dolled up. Of course, House of Obagi is one of my favorite establishments, as well as Obagi, the brand, so what reason is there for me not to look my best? I also needed to feel good about myself, so there, I spent an hour or so in front of my bathroom fixing up, having a personal makeover, courtesy of me! I love those moments!

For my look of the day, I pulled off a smoky eyed look. I swear, chinitas are so lucky that the makeup technique required to compliment their ( or OUR! ) eyes is just so easy. You can do it with one basic color ( black, blue, violet, etc ), or you can play with color gradients, shifting from dark to light, going upwards. I love smoky eyes, and I think I look best with it, as compared to other techniques used by those who have bigger eyes.

Products Used :

Smooth 360 Serum for primer
Estee Lauder Idealist Skintone Illuminator – oh this is the secret to the dewy effect, I swear on this! I will repurchase!!!!
Coverfx Cream Foundation to cover imperfections

Coverfx Powder Foundation
Make Up For Ever Microfinishing Hd Powder

Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil + MAC Brow Set in Girlboy

I was really feeling too stressed that day, that I needed the extra boost – and voila! Curls! I took the extra hour to curl my hair like that. Do you like it?

getup of the night

Another thing that I’ve started to enjoy lately is dressing up. Before, I’d just stick to the basic shorts, and a cute top, as I really am not a big fashion savvy girl. I admire fashion bloggers who take time to pick their pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories that match together, and really, as I started meeting these wonderful fashion bloggers, I just became more inspired to dress up. I’m a work in progress, definitely struggling ( in the fashion world, ) but I hope I’ll graduate fine. Haha!

For my get-up, I mixed a simple white sleeveless top with tan wide-legged pants. Wide-legged pants are all the rage now ( and fashion just repeats itself! ) , and I am so into that “rage”! Hahaha! I find it absolutely sophisticated and chic! So there, I have three pairs, and I’m trying to find an excuse to buy more. I paired this getup with a really simple pair of flesh pumps from Aldo, 3-inches high. I know, I know, I oughta have worn higher heels to give the illusion of longer legs, but hey, I’m not a heels girl! Hahaha!

Well, I was quite happy that night during the House of Obagi Bloggers’ Night, meeting alot of beautiful girls, dermatologists, and folks from House of Obagi! I was just so amazed that there are so much beautiful bloggers, I’m gushing!

Well, what about the event? I shall reveal in one of my next posts! Stay tuned!

Tip of the week that I’m sharing : Master your features, above anything else. You might be a makeup artist and you can create beautiful looks on other people, but ultimately, you should master your own features, and know how to make yourself look your best. Oh no, I meant, the very best! Nothing beats the feeling of that. I’m working on it
