LOTUSSHIELD

This is my newly ironed hair – looking great, thanks to my latest product discovery!

I think I’ve had my hair rebonded for three consecutive years ( or even more, seaching archive..haha! ) already that I have been relying on rebonded hair to keep my uber wavy hair sleek, and naturally straight. My hair’s too thick, and wavy that tough luck on making it stick straight – the only effect I am able to get is decent, healthy-looking straight hair.

Now, just this year, I have had thoughts of having my hair permed, or at least, for the meanwhile, I have been playing with curling tools having been more adventurous. With that, I have postponed my annual rebonding sessions, and just opted to iron my hair whenever I feel the need to look polished.

With my colored, and damaged hair, my hair is definitely prone to dryness. I remember when I was in college, and hair irons were just very new technology then, I saved up and bought this cheap hair iron, and it was just a revelation that my hair could be THAT straight and friends said that straight hair suited me. I thought that I could say goodbye to wavy hair by ironing my hair every day, but with my everyday ironing, I have noticed, that after a few weeks of doing that, the ends of my hair looked really dehydrated and walis-like ( like a bad broom ). Learning my lesson the hard way, I stopped ironing my hair too much!

Okay, what’s the point of my post? I’d like you to say hello to my new hair product that I deem a must-apply pre-hair ironing – say hello to Avon’s Advanced Hair Solutions Lotus Shield Treatment.

Inspired by the Lotus Leaf, which maintains its beauty in water and has a natural shield to prevent moisture from penetrating the surface, Advance Techniques Lotus Shield forms a humidity-resistant barrier on the hair’s surface to control frizz—even at 97% humidity.
The non-greasy leave-on treatment eliminates frizz instantly so hair is manageable and controlled for up to 3 days.

This is what I apply on damp hair and as it is almost dry, I start hair ironing. The effect is just sleek, frizz-free hair, and I can just swear that my hair looks very much nourished and well-tended! My friend was actually asking me how I manage to keep my colored hair ( which is prone to dryness ) looking so healthy even if I use hair iron. I just mentioned the name of this product as my answer, because it is simply Avon’s Lotus Shield that saves me from hair-ironing damage. For normal days, I usually deep condition every single day to maintain healthy colored hair.

This is my hair around almost midnight, when I went clubbing with my girl friends. I was delighted to see this photo to see that my hair was still very much well-shaped despite the intense humidity that night ( it rained, and it was a bit warm inside the club! Blame it on..the “hot” people there. hahaha! My gosh my attempts to joke around again, forgive me! )

Avon Lotus Shield is non-greasy, and does not weigh down the hair, and it is great to be applied on damp hair on a normal day, and even greater when you apply it before blow-drying, hair-ironing, or just any heated styling product as the effects are most noticeable! It helps the hair look really healthy, and I swear on it! It helps that the product is only P 350.00 – a far cry from my Shu Uemura Essence Absolue ‘s price tag, that aims to do just about the same thing.

P.S. Avon’s Lotus Shield is so good, that it prompted a friend of mine that I haven’t talked to for ages to send me one, thinking that she HAD to send me this product for me to try because she loves it so much. Talk about sharing the love for beauty! Thanks Crissy!I’m glad to say that I love it as much as you do!

Here’s to great hair days and beyond!
