Last week, I had the privilege of walking in an enchanted garden, courtesy of Ponds. Whoever designed the place is just plain genius, I tell you!
We were just told to come in eco-chic attire, and were given plants as invites. We were hinted that it was something “organic” or “natural” that is to be launched.

The hints continued on during the event proper as the models in the runway were clad in green, and we were served dishes that had camellia oil in it.

Take for example, this really good dish that I enjoyed for the night. The tuna was peppery, oh, I just could not forget this! Can I have more?
Anyway, after our delicious dinner, the revelation began. That night marked the launched of Pond’s White Beauty Naturals line, bringing its star product into the limelight , being Camellia Leaf Extract.
The ingredient “camellia” has been very, very popular lately, don’t you think? I just reviewed a more than awesome hair product with camellia oil, and they just served us food with camellia oil, and now, it’s going to infuse our skin with its benefits. What are its benefits anyway?

Pond’s brings to the Philippines the new Pond’s White Beauty Naturals with Camellia leaf extract, known to grow in the foothills of the Himalayas. The Pond’s Institute has uncovered a super ingredient from nature for proven fair skin: the Camellia leaf.
“Pond’s White Beauty Naturals with Camellia leaf extract works deep within your skin to prevent darkening at the source,” explains Dr. Sona Pushker, Head of Research at the Pond’s Institute. “New Pond’s White Beauty Naturals works double time,” he states. “The Camellia leaf extract is known to reduce the formation of melanin deep within your skin, and the proven skin lightening technology of the Pond’s White Beauty range inhibits melanin being released to the skin’s surface, reducing skin darkening and imperfections.”
Well, it might be the camellia leaf/ camellia oil’s year this 2011 ( and Camellia Parker-Bowles? haha kidding! ) On another note, the White Beauty Naturals has got to be Pond’s lightest moisturizer amongst all their products. I’ve tried the moisturizer, and I must agree the consistency was the lightest among all moisturizers ( may it be Flawless White, Age Miracle, or Gold Radiance, etc.) This is actually an advantage for those seeking really light moisturizers on the skin – specially those who have oily skin, who definitely need that. Well, it’s pointing to me, it’s pointing to me. Hahaha!

Well, guess who Pond’s newest endorser is? Oh my gosh. They have got to be kidding. They managed to get one of the most beautiful faces, and moreso, one of the best actresses ( I so LOVE her impersonating Kris Aquino in Banana Split, her AMAZING acting in Here Comes The Bride, and her crazy persona in Rubi. Oh yes, the two shows are ABS-CBN – I’m a loyal ABS girl! ) in the Philippine industry – the very, very ethereally beautiful Angelica Panganiban! I must say that in person, she looked so slim, and her face looked poreless and really flawlessly milky! I’m so envious! Her features were very mestiza as well. She’s really, really beautiful!

Here’s Angelica talking to the host of the night, Luanne Dy. Angelica tells Luanne that she finds the Pond’s White Beauty Naturals to be very light on the skin, and when asked how beau Derek Ramsay finds her skin, she says, “Soft,” that it was just like a baby’s. Heehee *kilig*. Okay, I was suppressing to screech.

I was with my favorite beauty bloggers. Oh, how I love hanging out with beauty bloggers as they’re the warmest bunch. It makes me crave for their happy company, and try to attend more events so as to see them again and again!

As the event ended, I was sulking because it seemed like Angelica Panganiban left already. But after sleuthing outside the venue, she was actually just outside posing behind the greeny Pond’s wall! So I mustered the guts to ask the brand managers to ask Angelica for a photo-op.

And then, we bloggers had the photo op with her ! She was actually very kind and friendly!

The treat of the night was also being able to have a solo picture with her ! When it was my turn for a solo pic with her, I greeted her with, “Hi Krissy!,” as she chuckled over it. She really made a mark in impersonating Kris Aquino in Banana Split, with the persona “Krissy” there. Hahaha!
Well, that was quite a night! Now I’m off to roadtest both the Pond’s White Beauty Naturals Day Cream, and also their Camellia Leaf-infused Facial Foam. I must say, I really am excited!
Who’s tried this product line already?
*thanks to Askmewhats Achie for the photos!
