Issey Miyake Bao Bao Bag For Sale

baobaobag

A good friend of mine is letting go of her brand new, and mercilessly gorgeous Issey Miyake Bao Bao Bag. It’s in white ( with a white strap, different from the photo above ) , just as preppy and dainty as her. We are looking for a new owner of this one of a kind bag, to take good care of it, and put justice into it with its edgy but classy glory!

Any takers? Email me at sophieuyblogs at gmail dot com for its asking price. Thanks!

What’s New : Estee Lauder Idealist Skintone Illuminator and Estee Lauder Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator

Estee Lauder’s new releases

Just last week, I was able to attend a lunch affair that marked the press launch of Estee Lauder’s newest products – possibly two of their fastest moving products as of late, being out of stock in its first release in Manila, and with a long, long waitlist! I know some Estee Lauder loyalists out there, from skin care to makeup, and I don’t doubt that these two new products will make a mark in Estee Lauder history – the new Idealist Skintone Illuminator, and Cooling Eye Gel Illuminator.

Illuminator. The word reminds me of Harry Potter commanding “lumos!” that a room suddenly earns a flicker of light to lead their way. With my HP hangover not yet over, let’s set this aside and put it into beauty terms. I just love it when I see a woman with such luminous texture, like she’s an angel. I’ve seen some of these lucky women who are blessed to have really soft, even, and radiant skin, that they glow! What constitutes a glow on the skin? Even skin. Even in terms of texture ( no scars ), and color ( with no spots, or dark areas, whatsoever ). In this day and age, women get busy. You see dark undereye circles because of their dedication to work ( and fun, after work! haha! ) . You see dark spots from their constant battle with acne, and the sun. Stress is everywhere – may they be self-inflicted, or environment-inflicted.

The Beautynomist Loves Ferretti Shoes

IMG_0259

I do love shoes. I love them all – I think flats can be sexy, and I think heels can even go higher ( ala Taio feat Kylie Minogue ) and make a statement! I am always grateful for comfortable shoes, but you should agree with me that part of being a girl is sometimes sacrificing comfort for style – like killer heels that make my feet sore the next day, or closed shoes that unexpectedly earn you blisters to your poor skin’s expense! I experienced that a couple of times already, and it definitely did not feel good! Oh well!

My Shu Uemura Color Atelier Palette

CA_product_A4

It’s been quite a busy season for me with my day job, and Charm ( watch out! new surprises to be announced soon! ) that I wake up pretty early, shower, and post-base makeup preparation, do my makeup inside the car! That brings me to the topic about portability of makeup products – I do have my favorite, bulky palettes proudly displayed at home, but within that palette exists my favorite shades that I wish I could just bring with me inside my bag in case of emergencies that require dolling up!

Well, Shu Uemura must have heard my prayer, as they came up with Color Atelier Palettes. Shu Uemura has released quite a variety of refills of their rave-worthy eyeshadows and blushes, with various cases to fit depending on your preference -

Pond’s White Beauty Naturals Launch

P1150338

say hello to smoky-eyed Achie Rowena by the enchanted tree!

Last week, I had the privilege of walking in an enchanted garden, courtesy of Ponds. Whoever designed the place is just plain genius, I tell you!

We were just told to come in eco-chic attire, and were given plants as invites. We were hinted that it was something “organic” or “natural” that is to be launched. Continue reading

Fabulous Hair Day at Lourd Ramos’ Creations Salon

IMG_0024

three happy girls at the Creations Salon

It was a fun, fun Saturday, that I met up with Shen and Brigitte, whom I share my love for beauty ( how I love that we met via beauty blogging! ) with. As Shen had her hair rebonded at Lourd Ramos’ Creations Salon a day before, she was highly raving about the staff there, so with my hair color retouching sesh almost due, I decided to try their services that day, alongside Brigitte who was seeking a new cut for her hair. Creations Salon by Lourd Ramos is located at the 2nd floor of Glorietta 5, so we were Makati bound that day.

Lourd Ramos is one of the prominent names when it comes to makeup artistry. I remember him teaching before at ABA and wanted to study makeup there, and now, he is a brand ambassador for both Smashbox and Davines. Amazing. Now, with his salon, I’m expecting to come out looking like a movie star, just like his showbiz clients. Hahaha!

MY HG Eye Cream As Of The Moment : Eyliplex-2

It usually takes a lot of time to be able to review skin care – sometimes, your beauty bloggers might blog about their initial impressions with the textures and initial effects on their skin, but for long term effects, it usually takes months to know if a product is worth keeping or we go on to the next product.

One product that I’d like to share with you that is really for keeps is my Holy Grail eyecream as of the moment – Eyliplex-2. I remember my first few weeks, that I solely enjoyed Eyliplex in the morning, as it would instantly de-puff my eyes in the morning, and just hope that my lines would diminish, as well as my dark undereye circles by applying the night cream.
But guess what- I only found out the effect after finishing one whole container, and stopping.

I stopped for about a month, and just used really light eye creams for the meanwhile, trying to be thrifty because Eyliplex is not cheap, and I’m starting to be stingy. Hahaha!

Beautynomics Thoughts : Kylie Minogue Aphrodite Concert in Manila

IMG_0498

my get-up is specially for Kylie and Kylie alone. Too bad I wasn’t able to meet her! Blaming it all on me!

Okay. I just watched Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite Concert in Manila, and I’m still wide awake at 1 am ( entry written on July 6, 2011 around 1am haha! ) . Gosh. I am in total shock, and I just could not believe that I watched her perform live, oh so near me!

But you know what, my day was quite a handful to begin with, before reaching my dream of seeing my ultimate idol Kylie Minogue perform live!

Well, my day started with me giddy and listening to her Aphrodite CD in the car as I was busy finishing work in time to prepare and head out to Araneta Coliseum as my friend was able to pull some strings to have me on Kylie’s Meet and Greet list. I was beyond excited! Past 3 pm and I was already fixing myself up – curling my hair, doing my makeup, humming beautiful Kylie songs aloud!

Around 4pm, and I suddenly won upper box tickets ( two ) which my sisters giddily took from me. As for me, I already had a seat – it was my best friend’s gift to me to sit with her at the patron area. My gosh, she must really love me, and this has got to be the most memorable gift that she has even given me as she knows how much I love Kylie Minogue. Do you know that whenever I don’t feel confident about myself, I watch Kylie Minogue’s Spinning Around and flip my hair with confidence afterwards? Or whenever I love a place, I hum On A Night Like This , like on a beautiful night at the beach? and whenever I feel giddy and sexy, I sing Fever?

I also think that Get Outta My Way is one of the most empowering songs for women that Kylie got the message across a fun way by singing it in disco music, and All The Lovers always get me that sentimental and always smiling with the awesome, positive , sweet vibes it exudes, including the melody and her emotion as she sings the song. Confide In Me is one of the best friendship and reaching out songs I’ve ever heard. Just sung sexily. I can go on and on but you’ll get bored, so I’ll go on with my story – Continue reading
