I’m Raving About A Mystery Body Lotion!

ATT68640 1

I’ve got a secret,
It’s time for me to tell that you’ve been keeping me warm
-Corrs, Summer Sunshine

I have a confession.

I’m really not into lotions.

Isn’t it evident? I don’t blog much about them, but I do – I get to give them a chance for a week, but sometimes, even if they’re good, and do my skin good, I forget about them after a week as my skin’s just THAT stubborn. My skin would gather up all excuses to skip on applying body lotions and stay as dry as it is!

There are only two instances wherein I actually take notice of my skin – post-beach, when I see my skin darken and be drier than usual, and during really cold, and chilly weather.

Well, I think I might have found something really precious, and effective, and at the sometime, great enough to hold my interest!

I’ve tried this wonder lotion that claims to hold moisture on your skin for 24 hours, and keep it soft that way. I didn’t believe it at first, but I just gave it a shot over a freezing day inside the office. I read the press release that was accompanied with it and it said that the formula is backed by a Nobel Prize technology. Seriously? Now, if this isn’t true, I was about to protest for something to this brand with its ostentatious claims! Well, challenge is ON for the lotion hater Sophie!

Giving this body lotion a shot…here are my initial thoughts about it –

Rainy Day Footwear

Last Saturday, it was just so evident that three girls were quite afraid of having their shoes damaged, and wet from the rain.

Result? Look at us. All covered up, at least, from leg to foot! hahaha!

Shen (rightmost ) has this adorable, and comfortable-looking animal print booties. They look so comfortable, and so sassy! I say it suits her personality ( let’s hear you roar, Shen! ).

Beautynomics Review : Nivea Sun Care Products

DSC_5097

wish I were back here.

I know, I know, I shouldn’t be posting about something about the beach now, as we’ve just survived one of the more challenging and hatest rain-filled weekends this year. But then, with the chilly weather, and wet season ( not my favorite season, I swear ), let’s try to daydream a little, and warp into the eternal sunshine zone to keep ourselves bright and shiny during this weather! Because all I wanna do..is dream, dream, dream dream!

As I was not quite done storytelling about my recent Boracay trip, I’m going to tell you more about it now.

With a rainy weekend during our beach trip, we were still blessed with days of warm sunshine, and the weather was even cooperative to make me gain a tan! Oh, I haven’t been tanned for the longest time, and I’ve been noticing that I was getting paler by the minute. So I told myself, I’m going back to Manila all bronzed up. No buts!

My favorite friends that I bring along with me during beach trips must be Nivea products, specifically their sun sprays and sunblock.

My Biggest Beauty Mistake To Date

desowen2

Desowen Cream – the cream that saved my skin

I remember asking my Beautynomics readers roughly a month ago, on what their biggest beauty mistake was, and how they fixed it. Well, it’s fair enough that I share you mine!

Well, here goes…!

It was one rainy day when my sister was complaining about the pimples on her chin. They just won’t go away ( that’s another story ), so I accompanied her to my dermatologist’s office as it was just 10 minutes away from home. After her medication, I was getting envious ( yes, I was! haha! ). With that, I asked my dermatologist for a light, light peel.

I know, I know, I’m not due for a peel yet, at least for two weeks. But I was feeling alot of dirt buildup in my skin already, I just begged for the lightest peel that she can give me. If you have chemical peels once every month, then you’d absolutely know when it’s time for another peel. You won’t be too happy once you feel buildup on your skin. Regularly peeled skin is always fresh, and your pores are forever clean and tight, until you feel they’re congested – you’d want to rush back to your dermatologist again. And with my skin-feeling, I just knew it was time, despite the deep peel that I had last April – trying out the Blue Peel. Continue reading

The Beautynomist LOVES Watson’s Purebeauty Treatment Essence Water With Camellia Seed Oil

DSC_5016

my hair in its natural state. Wavy, hard to manage. I love my new hair color though? hahaha!

While everyone’s enjoying the chilly, snuggly rainy weather, let me share with you something about my beach trip last week. Boracay has got to be my favorite beach in this entire planet, and I’d gladly go back to the island every time I can. Well, when I was there, it was rainy, but I was so glad to be spared for a few days of radiant sunshine! Call me lucky, my Independence Day weekend theory still is valid. Proof? My tan. My next posts will surely reveal how tanned I am right now from my Boracay trip!

Anyway, I’m writing this blog entry to share with you an amazing product discovery. With my newly colored hair, I have tried to be extra careful to maintain it. I do have my hair products just for colored hair just like Pureology and Kerastase, but knowing that my scalp is ultra sensitive, I usually stick to Physiogel Shampoo on a daily basis, and just condition my hair using an intensive hair masque daily. But for the beach, that’s altogether another story!

Beautynomics Lookbook : My Cousin’s Wedding

cousin2

This month, I’ve become vain. Yes, I think this song is about me. Hahaha!

With my cousin’s wedding to be held 10am early in the morning, I could only groan, and sigh problematically as I am not a morning person. Yes, it was the perfect occasion for dolling up, but waking up early in the morning to do so can be such a challenge! Well, this cousin is special to me, as we practically grew up together, so consider me challenged! I actually prepared my look a week in advance so that I wouldn’t be all running around during the day itself!

With occasions that call for dolling up, consider me the most excited one. So here’s what I’ve come up with, together with some notes on how I achieved my look!

Contest Alert : Ask House of Obagi!

ASK HOO contest

I feel, that this is one of House of Obagi‘s really exciting contests. Being a skin care freak and geek like me, it is just amazing to be able to ask a question to their wall, and be answered by House of Obagi‘s Medical Director!

Yes, I so love it when dermatologists give me answers that either validate my skin care or actually know what treatment would address my problems, and what products will help me maintain my good skin. House of Obagi really prides themselves with PDS-accredited dermatologists who know their stuff, and as for me, I must say that my skin is well taken cared of thanks to them!

One of the questions that I can really relate to is Tara’s question,

What is the most non-invasive way to minimize pores?

House of Obagi’s medical director impressed me, ( and enlightened me, of course! )
