It’s a few weeks away, and I’m off to hit the beach. Nevermind the weather disturbances. I’m still very much optimistic that the sun will shine come Independence Day weekend. It always does, ever since I was in college, so call me audacious for always planning a beach trip during those dates. But then, I have another huge problem.
I’m going to the beach, and I’m surely going to wear a bikini. During my younger years, I could just wear one, look good in it, and feel good wearing it.
Let me tell you more about me. I eat ALOT ( yes, I binge ), and I hardly exercise. I try to, and I promised to, and as I was about to, I just colored my hair, and I was unwilling to swim in a pool of chlorine. Yes, you can hate me now. I’m a stubbornhead that way. Haha!
During my younger years when my metabolism was just plain cooperative, I can just do that and get away with that. But now, as I am getting older, the effects of binge eating has been catching up on me, and the first trace I saw? A bulge. Where ? Tummy!!!! Oh no!!!
With roughly one month to go ( this was done early May ), I was given a chance to try the body sculpting treatment called Cavitation offered by House of Obagi. What is cavitation?

The ultrasonic cavitation can be considered as a treatment alternative to surgical liposuction, which can be more or less aggressive as is done with or without laser, and more or less extensive areas. Ultrasound can, in fact, avoid the operating room and avoid anesthesia because the procedure is painless and can be done in a medical office.

Yes, cavitation is a non-invasive procedure that melts down your fats thru an ultrasound device, and you’ll lose fat and inches from your desired body part in no time! Was I game? For a body sculpting/ body slimming procedure? Boy was I!
What happened first, after changing into towel-attire ( you can see how haha!) the nurse started applying some clear gel on my tummy ( just like a baby ultrasound. well, maybe? haha! ) Then, she opened the cavitation machine, and put on some settings. She informed me that she was going to do some “shots” on me first before massaging my tummy. Shots would mean that the cavitation tool would emit ultrasound waves to where my tummy fat was stored, for it to be burned. It took 15 minutes to do that. At first, there was no discomfort, but as the 15 minutes was almost over, the waves were getting stronger, so I yelped a halt, as the nurse turned down the setting. We have our own pain tolerance, so to each his/her own! But overall, it wasn’t really painful!

Now comes the massaging part. The next few minutes was dedicated to the cavitation tool being massaged rigorously around my tummy area, as the fat was already “shot” , it needed to be dissolved, hence, massaged. I definitely felt pressure here alright, as the fat needed to be vigorously massaged to melt away. The nurse tells me that I will ( excuse me for my lingo if you’re eating now, maybe you’d like to pause haha! ) fart more, pee more, or have more bowel movement within the next few hours to the next day, as the fats are supposed to make an exit from my body. After the massage, I was good to go!
But wait! RESULTS! How much did I lose? I didn’t include the pictures of me being measured here ( I’m too shy to do so! ) but I lost a total of one inch, on the waist and hip area. I asked the nurse if it was supposed to be only one inch, and she said during the first session, the effect is not so much as the body is just initiated with the process , though the next successive sessions, you will definitely see more than visible results – from 2 inches to a whopping 4 inches! Now, I am very very much encouraged to go back and have my second session. After all, I lost an inch without any effort in an hour! How crazy is that?
Another thing to know, is that after the cavitation procedure, as fat is dissolved, skin needs firming. Hence, a procedure called RF Firming Skin procedure needs to be done to firm up that loose skin. Good thing that my skin’s firm already, that I don’t need to undergo RF already. One thing that I should also tell you, is that if you have stomach problems, abnormal bleeding, or problems in your area that you wish to have a procedure with, it is better to consult with your physician prior to having these kinds of procedures done.
Overall, I’m very pleased knowing the fact that I can lose weight without any effort. Don’t get me wrong – I am still going to push myself to exercise as I need to sweat and burn fat the natural way, but it just feels comforting that modern technology can definitely do wonders!
To try body sculpting treatments like these, book your appointment, or inquire at your nearest House of Obagi branch. Oh wait. Twittering? House of Obagi has a Twitter account too!

You’re so cute Sophie! I’ve tried this procedure too, and I lost almost 2 inches, ang saya. =) But yup, nothing is better than exercise, so let’s move our butts! Hihi. Sayang di tayo sabay sa beach!
It’s addictive, right? hahahaha! I feel like going back to House of Obagi again, but schedule’s quite prohibitive lately!
But we need to exercise as it’s the best way to lose weight. Lazyheads. haha!
Hope to see you soon!
this is amazing! i badly need this! but how much is this procedure?
Hi Issa! For the tummy, it’s approximately around P 6,000 for 15 minutes and around P 10,000 (+ – with the hundreds ) for 30 minutes. It’s definitely worth a shot!
wow, so expensive! but i see those group deal sites having deals for this. I wonder if they skimp out on anything…
I was told that some only do it for 15 minutes, and totally skip the “shots” and just do the massage immediately, eh.
