my Holy Grail hair straightening iron – Vidal Sassoon Total Freedom 230 Cord/Cordless Straightener

What’s a fun, fun thing to do for two bestfriends on a Sunday afternoon?

Shopping, of course!

It was last weekend that Jacqe and I had a fun-filled afternoon of shopping. As we chatted the first half of the afternoon away, and played with makeup in her room, we made sure to have a detour at the mall before heading to the hotel for a wedding reception. Believe me, that the shopping “angle” of our afternoon was highly unplanned! But when I brought my trusty VS cordless hair straightening iron, I think Jacqe fell in love with it that she wanted one for herself! With that, shopping mode was on! ( alongside our lemming for clothes. haha! )

I remember shopping all by myself in SM Makati one lonely Saturday as I was buying some beauty supplies before flying to Singapore to study makeup. As I am bringing all my necessities, a mean, mean beauty arsenal is required ( for Sophie, of course! ) One of them is a straightening iron, as my hair, by that time, was at the end of a rebonding phase, with waves on my hair being evident. As I was checking out straightening irons, one particular product caught my eye – The Vidal Sassoon Total Freedom 230 Cord/Cordless Hair Iron. I’ve always heard of tourmaline crystals making hair shinier, so I was halfway sold with the idea. What sold me totally to this product, was that..it was wireless! Yes, you have a charging dock here, as you don’t need to be confined with the limits of the cord attached to your normal hair irons – you’re free to fix your hair anywhere, provided your hair iron is charged. So nice!

Well, here’s Jacqe playing with Vidal Sassoon hair irons. She’s particularly eyeing on the mini travel-sized hair irons. They’re ceramic, and they’re pink. Haha! My friend brought this with her during one of our trips abroad, and she was so proud of her good buy! This retails for P 1,600!

Oh, look, there’s actually a travel-sized curling iron too! How cute!

What made me big-eyed and seriously obsessed with Vidal Sassoon products, is their new product, called the Vidal Sassoon Magic Shine Ionic Steam Straightener. It promises to make your hair shine like no other, and the heating time is so quick.

look at me. I am trying to hold my horses right down there for an immediate purchase! I was so happy trying this new baby!

For P 6,000 pesos, I was dumbstruck. No, not that “I’m not buying that overpriced thing,” thought, but more like, “I NEED to earn more money to afford this one!” I was actually trying to justify a new hair straightening iron purchase, but then with my VS Cordless Hair Iron still very much alive and doing wonders for my hair for two years already, I held back, and just told myself to be contented with a good buy two years ago.

Well, congratulate me ( for now ) that I didn’t make an impulsive purchase as I already have three straightening irons at home ( one of them, being another VS Ceramic Wet/Dry Hair Straightener passed on to me by my bestbud Mais who couldn’t use this in Canada anymore due to voltage issues ). But then, the ionic steam straightener continues to invade my dreams!

What’s your lemming lately?

One Response to “Hunting for Vidal Sassoon Hair Straightening Irons”

    Hi Sophie ??
oh how i wish i had gotten the cordless instead. I purchased the mini one bec it’s cute, they have a 2yr service warranty, and it’s great for travel. but the cord on the mini one does not twirl and mine stopped working a month shy of being a yr old. so i was happy that the thermal paper sm uses for their receipts still bear some useful info. however, i don’t live in paranaque anymore and the service center is near sucat pa. i had to pay the sales lady at sm mega to bring to their home ofc in pque. a month later i got it back ‘fixed’.
so the service warranty isn’t a joke, they do honor that but the owner of the item has to go the service center directly.

    Regards,
    M
