My biggest beauty mistake was wearing lots of make-up to hide my real skin. Since I was young, I have been very curious about make-up. Growing-up, I started buying lots of make-up items such as eyeshadows, lips glosses, foundations, etc. I figured that if I wear lots of these “stuffs”, I would look more mature. I thought that applying layers and layers of cosmetics will enhance my beauty. Good thing with the help of magazines, and blogs like this, I realized that “less is more” when it comes to putting on make-up. Now, I only apply the basic items – powder and lip balm – to school and whenever I go out. I’m very happy that I feel more confident now that my real beauty shines through.
Well, I could only say that Kim sounded just like me! I would invest in so much makeup seeking to hide my pimply skin, only to have my skin condition worsen, as I hide deeper under the temporary comforts of cosmetics. Now that I have invested in skin care and seeing my dermatologist, my skin can now breathe freely with less makeup, making people see my skin, not the makeup. I encourage everyone to take their skin care seriously, as you will eventually get tired of applying makeup when you get old, and you really need good skin to bare and be comfortable with in time!
