If there’s one feature in my face that I’m quite particular about, it must be my eyebrows. It’s the first feature I look at ( sorry! teehee ), and I think eyebrows just make or break your look.

Sept 2007. My virgin eyebrows!!!!

I remember my first ever blog event that I documented – looking at my eyebrows- que horror! All thick, and all over the place! When I realized that my brows were bad news, and ruined my entire look ( there is nothing worse than a good eye makeup, and good over all makeup look with ungroomed eyebrows ruining it! ), I started having them groomed by having periodic threading sessions from the salons I frequent.

Once I was given the chance to be educated on shaping my eyebrows thru makeup school, I quickly took the chance to apply it on myself, and eventually, I began shaping my own eyebrows. It’s been a while since I’ve been doing that, actually. But then, I kinda missed my brows being groomed by another. Haha!

When Dealgrocer came out with Browhaus coupons ( priced at P 850.00 from P 1200+) for Browgraphy ( brow-shaping with brow tinting ), I quickly clicked checkout, as I was just so curious about Browhaus. Browhaus came from Singapore, as it was a very popular go-to place for those very particular about their eyebrows. Upon checking out, I told myself – ahh, I am letting my eyebrows grow and grow, and I will see how Browhaus grooms my eyebrows!

I walked in Browhaus Serendra, located at the second floor, just beside Conti’s, on a Thursday afternoon, during office hours, so there weren’t alot of people having their brows done by that time. I surrendered my Deal Grocer coupon on the counter, as I was led to my own “space”, as each customer had their own “space”, with wall divisions. The brow technician assigned to me was very friendly, as she led me to my chair, and reclined it. She told me that at first, she will be bleaching my eyebrows, as my eyebrows were almost black, in contrast with my light-brown colored hair.

my very own space!

Oh yes, I looked like a Snowman or Santa Claus for twenty minutes, as my eyebrows were bleached. Hahaha!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa claus! sing with me!

I was staring at this wonderful wall while waiting, oh, how I love looking at eyebrows, I swear!

After twenty minutes have passed, my brow technician used a cotton ( and some solution or water ) to wipe off the bleach off my eyebrows. My brow hairs looked very, very light, and I looked like this :

love the color!

Okay, my brows were a bit too light, and I seriously did not mind, as I loved drawing, rather than concealing/covering, or even lightening my eyebrows with brow gel!

threading time!!!!

After that, Miss Brow Technician started whipping up her thread, for some action! On she started threading my eyebrows, as I gripped my hands and just try to enjoy the experience. Oh wait, enjoy? It was a bit painful! I’m already pain tolerant, and it was still painful! It just meant that I had lotsa lotsa stray hair, and no guts, no glory! This is the price of beauty, I tell you!

After a grueling 10 minutes of threading, and trying not to cry ( though my tears are so darn involuntary with threading ) , it was finally over. I saw my brows groomed ever so neatly!

Upon studying closely ( well, at least for me ) , my eyebrows are really full on the ends nearing my nose, as it thins, and thins on the eyebrows near my temples. The sparse area is on the “tails” of my eyebrows, actually. It helps to know how one’s eyebrows are structured, on how the hair grows, and how much the hair grows on one specific area. I find myself constantly drawing on my “tails”, and just brushing some brow gel overall to make them go on one direction, and be semi-blonde, matching my hair!

The last part of the session was brow tinting. I was anticipating another round of “bleaching” action, but it was a wash-off dye that after shading my eyebrows, I was told that I was good to go, and just wash my face at least, after 5 hours to let the dye stay on my eyebrows. Finished product?

The brown dye definitely filled in some sparse areas on my eyebrows, and darkened my brows a wee bit! I like it!

nicely done!

I would have to say that my Browhaus experience was a pleasant one. I loved my brows being groomed perfectly by competent brow technicians, and I would definitely go back to Browhaus from time to time to avail of their threading sessions. As for the brow tinting part, to be honest, when I washed my face that night, I saw my eyebrows went back to its dark color, like I didn’t have any tinting done – I was disappointed on that part. But then, it was all good – it’s been two weeks, and my brows are growing quite nicely, and I’ve been maintaining my new eyebrow shape, diligently plucking off the first signs of stray hair.

Oh yes, I do love my eyebrows :)
