Sakura. Ahhh. Whenever I hear the word “sakura,” it surely reminds me of Japan. Friends (including me) are eternally fascinated by the unique, oriental air of mystery that shrouds Japan, a country who regards nature very highly, as it had Shintoism as its state religion from dreamtimes ago. With an air of beautiful, well-preserved nature in Japan, my friends would always try to plan to go to Japan for a vacation, “just in season when cherry blossoms ( also called as sakura ) bloom.” I never got to see it because my friends and I went there during the summer, but I do hope that I would see sakuras one day, and just be inspired by its beauty as it surrounds me in full bloom. One spring time, one spring time, I shall be back for it.
While waiting for my next trip to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom, I have a pleasant reminder of its beauty, with Watson’s Sakura Bella line. Flowers in a beauty product? Well, at first, I thought that Watson’s just acquired the fragrance of cherry blossoms, but it turns out that it is more than that! More than a pretty flower, it contains Phenolics, which contains powerful antioxidants. Wow! That is indeed fascinating!
Moving on with my review, I roadtested all three products included in the Watsons Sakura Bella Line – the Sakura Bella Body Wash, Sakura Bella Body Scrub, and Sakura Bella Hand and Body Lotion. It seems to me that I’m in for a “fragrance-layering” treat, in which they say that fragrances last longer on your skin, if you use a set of products with the same fragrance!
Sakura Bella Body Wash smells typically “that kind of floral” when you smell it, but the moment I used it while showering, I was quite astonished on how the scent “bloomed” further, and created that very, very nice, light floral scent in the middle of my bath experience! I say do not underestimate this body wash, as it transforms your shower into a spa-like atmosphere with floral-fragrance steam, and lets you step out of the showering smelling really, really great! I love it!
The Sakura Body Scrub, on the other hand, is what you’d describe as a creamy exfoliant. It’s like watery lotion slathered on my body, with really gentle seed-scrubs that get my skin out of dullsville, revealing new, fresh skin bi-weekly. My skin feels really soft after using this.
The Sakura Hand and Body Lotion earns my vote as I can bet on it that it’s not greasy at all! It melts and disappears in my skin in a few seconds upon application, and I feel light, and comfortable with this lotion! I love using this to moisturize my hands several times during the day, and apply generously on my legs and feet at night time, for that night time rejuvenation ritual ( yes, I do have such a thing haha! )
All in all, I really love this line ( and so does my mom ), as Watson’s nailed this one with a classy, lingering light floral fragrance interpretation of sakura flowers. The consistency of the products are good themselves, so I’m a thumbs up on this one! Will I repurchase? Yes, specially with the body wash, as I love fragrant shower-times!
