Oh here I go again reminiscing my recent vacation, as I don’t think I will be indulging myself with another one in the next few months. Memories of shopping full of hyped and excited emotions ( only happens in Bangkok! ), good food, beautiful tourist spots, and well, there was much, much walking involved during that trip! ( and my previous trip, too! )
So, with all the happiness and memories compiled, I also remember that all that walking built up much stress to my feet. Adrenalin or having a sense of adventure would divert the feeling for a while, but when you just settle down and rest, it all comes rushing in. Quite painfully!
I remember it was a tiring, tiring day for me and my friend K, as we went back to our serviced apartment, Somerset Lakepoint, nearing midnight. With two days full of nonstop walking, I think we deserved a good foot massage, and it was indeed, time. Good thing that Just Jenny, a massage & spa place just right across our service apartment was still open, so we walked in, and availed of their foot massage.

The place was just very simple, but very cozy. Foot massage and facials are done on the ground floor, while full body massages at the second floor.
Lazy couches with sorta dim lights ( or are my eyes just sleepy? kidding! ) make the perfect recipe for relaxation. Feet soaked in warm water already earned a sigh of comfort for me, and the next series of happenings had me surprised!
The foot massage was quite comforting. One thing I really liked about it, is the watery, minty lotion or oil ( I cannot remember anymore! haha! ) that was used for the whole duration of the massage. I could not remember- oh wait, look at that jar in the photo with me in it – it was in that jar with white stuff. seemed like a very minty semi-solid lotion that melted like oil! I can’t explain – but I promise, that the sensation on my feet were simply divine – it was heavenly-minty all the way! I wanted to buy that product because it was just so relaxing, as it fed happiness to my tired feet! And one more point….PRESSURE POINT! hahaha! Thai massage therapists sure know their pressure points, as they’d “poke” at one part of your body ( in my case, feet ) and BAM, I found myself instantly sigh! In other words, I sank in delight with this experience!
As the foot massage was ending, I was tugging my friend K’s hand and told her, “ahhh, I don’t wanna go!” Little did we know it, but the foot massage also included a head and shoulder (and arm ) massage! Now that was very, very, very good! The whole massage lasted for about an hour, leaving us guaranteed a good night’s sleep! ( ahhh it was already 1am when it was all done haha! )
Much to my glee, I gave a generous tip to my massage therapist, and paid – guess- It was only 200 baht for everything! ( 200 x 1.5 roughly for PHP, around $7 usd ). It was soooo worth it! With much, much raving, K and I toyed around the idea of going back the next day for a last massage before we go back to Manila.

..and really, we did go back the next day! This time, I asked for K’s massage therapist that she told me, exerted effortless, but substantial pressure while massaging. Boy oh boy, I proved K right! But she was just so good, making us all feel relaxed ( we had the morning for shopping – again – so we were tired again haha! ), that I wanted to take her homeee!! Thai massage therapists are definitely unique in their own craft – they’re quite special, I tell you! I’ve never experienced such relaxing massage in my entire life, and for a fraction of the price! It just made me look at Thai massages at a different light – that it should be in my “must-dos” everytime I go to Thailand. You can bet on that!

Super thanks to Jenny for the hospitality, and her very cute and happy son Willie! I hope to be back!
Lesson learned? In Thailand, you’d see a massage place or spa every 50 metres you pass the road ( it’s true! hahaha! ) , go pick one that looks nice and decent, and just see how it goes, if it’d wow you or not! In this case, Just Jenny right across my service apartment wowed me!
