Today, I confess something to all of you.
Remember my post about my hopeless, chapped lips, that no brand could ever be effective enough to repair?
I even resorted in splurging three thousand bucks for this product. My goodness, I thought I was going to be high maintenance for life! With that, I had some bias with expensive products that they fare better than the low-priced ones.
Maybe I’ve developed that stigma with affordable products, specially lip products from a friend of mine, dating back on our early years, who has told me that she bought this lip product for roughly 50 bucks, as her lips became unpleasantly pigmented for life. With that, I became really careful with my lip products.
I explored, and explored lots of lip balm brands as I have horribly chapped lips ( brought about by braces, it just became chapped from that point on ) but I think I have missed out on one certain brand, and made me give up easily on my search for affordable, but really effective lipbalms.
I’ve heard of the brand Carmex, on how good it is, and even bought a few packs when I was in Canada, telling my friends that this was well-raved. I never really tried them though, and they all went to my sisters’ kikay kits, in which they never updated me with any feedback. I even used the gel-type for clients – but never used it on myself. What was I thinking? Haha!
Fast forward to this year, that I was sent a pack of Carmex goodies by the Philippine distributor, and let me tell you that it absolutely changed my life! My being a strawberry-flavor lover got me picking up the strawberry variant by instinct, and when it glided in my lips, it had petroleum-jelly texture. What awed me more was it started getting minty on my lips! Strawberry-mint! Oh, I love it! But then, for being effective?
Oh yes, I was really surprised when my lips started getting soft – immediately! After a few hours, and as my lips dried off from the Carmex lipbalm that I just applied, my lips were already soft, and un-chapped! Miraculous? You can bet on that!
Carmex comes in three kinds – the classic pot ( shown above ) that you can use as a “salve” as well, the regular lip balm tubes, and in gel form. Amongst the three, I prefer the regular lip balm tubed packaging, as I like applying lipbalm like that – much, much like lipstick. Haha! On the other hand, Carmex comes in three flavors – the original one ( still minty! ), the very refreshingly nice cherry ( my baby sis loves this! ) and strawberry ( I love this! ) I’ve been reading from the forum about a new flavor – care to spill, for those who know?
For roughly a hundred pesos, I am able to get so much value for money, with instant relief from my chapped lips, and I get a chance to hoard them, and share them with friends! How cool is that?
So right now, consider me a convert. I am officially smitten with Carmex lipbalms! I’ve finally found something that truly works for me – thank God, it’s not expensive!
I would highly recommend for those feeling hopeless with their chapped lips situation to try Carmex. Maybe it would do wonders for you and you wouldn’t have to spend too much!
So, any Carmex lovers here?

)
Wow, it is cheaper than in the body shop. Will definitely try this out. But I have a question, do you apply often in a day?
I’ve been curious with this lip balm but I read someone’s review before that their husband complained how it tasted like grease when he kisses her while wearing this, haha!
But since you’re raving about it, might as well check it out
Wicker : me too!
This really softened and alleviated my chapped lips, so I really recommend it! and as for the texture – very petroleum jelly like, na sort of natutunaw
Lia : well, it doesn’t taste anything to me, and for reference, I like medicine-y lipbalms.
How much are these? Where can I find them? I’ve also heard good things about the Burt’s Bees lip balms
carmex saves my lips from matte lipsticks! its my overnight cure!
matte lipsticks really kill the lips sigh! but they can be pretty!
Elaine : at PCX branches
for a hundred bucks
Kiehl’s can be messy especially when it’s humid. I love Carmex!

Carmex is really good! I used to have a Carmex pot when I was in high school and all my friends swear by it! It’s cool and very refreshing. It’s also my fail-safe way of curing my ever-so-chapped lips! Even some of my guy friends who suffer from chapped lips like it too!
