Ahhh. I just love coupons! Let me just comment on how the coupon/groupon sites have taken the Philippine online community by storm! With enticing deals from hotel accommodations, hotel buffets, cosmetic services, even car services to spa services, I just love it that we get to try something that is discounted. Yes, coupon sites are awesome because we get to try alot of services at a discounted rate! A bad thing about it though, is that we have more motivation to…spend! Ahh!
One of the coupons that I was able to avail was the Toccare Spa Special Romantic Valentine’s Day Couples Package from Cashcashpinoy. It cost me around P 1650, a price-sash from P 3,400.00 that consists of a welcome foot ritual, classic massage for two, and dinner for two.
Antel Spa Suites is located in Antel Lifestyle City, Makati. It’s a building away from A. Venue. Arriving and parking at the Antel Spa Suites, I was already getting excited, looking at the really posh interiors. Toccare Spa is located at the fourth floor, and the moment I saw the reception, I knew that I was going to enjoy this spa experience.
As I presented my printed voucher, the accommodating receptionist asked us which music we’d like in the room ( we chose nature sounds ), what room scent we would want ( I took over and chose my favorite lavender essential oil scent ), and when asked to choose which oil we wanted to be used for our massage, M and I had differing choices – I didn’t even blink as I chose lavender ( ahhh I love lavender! ) and M chose the green tea oil, which very much smelled like a milder, and more soothing version of Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea Perfume. We paid an extra P 250 per head to be able to avail of the couples’ room, as the receptionist informed us there that massages were done in a common room with other customers. With those choices made, we were led to separate wet areas, one for men, and one for women, for our pre-massage activities. I went ahead and showered, lounged in the jacuzzi all by myself ( I love those space out moments, I swear! ) and ended up in the sauna. I felt very much pampered as I was offered iced tea from time to time. As M and I met up after, he told me that he really liked the steam bath. After our pre-massage rituals, we were led to a common room to have our welcome foot ritual.
Our foot ritual consisted of our feet being dipped in really warm water ( they had a built-in faucet per seat ), and our feet being massaged in certain parts. I honestly was in pain when the therapist was doing this massage, and I asked her if she hit a vein, but it turns out, as I saw my feet, there weren’t any veins as casualties – they were just my overworked feet muscles. Sheesh! Haha!
As our foot massage ended, we were led to the VIP room. It was a sight to behold, just like my dream room – two solo lazy-boy like chairs, two massage beds, dim lighting, and decors with hints of rose quartz. In this cozy , intimate place was where the real massage started. The Classic Massage lasted for an hour, and I was overjoyed on how my therapist can knead my worries away for the day. I was able to ask her to adjust pressure to that of a hard massage, and asked her to concentrate on my lower back, which I have been complaining about lately. The lavender oil massaged on me smelled so wonderful that I wanted to sleep there for an hour!
After having one of the best massages of my life, M and I napped for a while, until there was a knock, that informed us that dinner is served. We were asked to choose what we wanted to eat ( as there were choices with this package ), and as the Granvia Cafe is already closed by that time, we would be eating at the Lounge Area. The Lounge Area had a common flatscreen TV, and we were led to the individual couches to eat dinner. I ordered Grilled Pork Belly with Java Rice, while M ordered Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet with Penne Al Pesto Pasta served with Sausage Chowder Soup. I expected the food to be so-so, but boy, was I surprised! The serving was definitely more than I have expected, it was good for 1, but it’s more of a guaranteed fill-your-tummy-for-one! As I started eating, I was impressed with how the food tasted as well, as the pork belly tasted very, very delicious, and as I started going to my neighbor M’s plate, I tasted the pesto to be really fresh and the fish crust tasted just so good – it was just a bit hard as it might just be heated as the cafe is already closed. We were also served iced tea for dinner, and I really greatly enjoyed it!
As our night came to an end, M and I agreed that this was one quiet, and peaceful night for us for a Saturday night as we’d usually go out and brave the crowd for dinners in lively places, and it was just a refreshing changed. I truly enjoyed my experience at the Toccare Spa, as if I would rate it amongst all the spa services I’ve tried, I would rate it a 10 ( being the highest ) for the really beautiful ambience, and around 9 for the massage services ( Zense Taipei remains the best massage place for me ) and I would not hesitate to go back there again when I want to shut down from the city, and just have a quiet, and relaxing retreat for my senses!
