As MAC Cosmetics unveils the Wonder Woman Collection, it’s created quite a buzz whether on it is a hit or miss on the brand. Well, I definitely do some good points in this collection, so let me start with my review of two of their products – the Mineralize Skinfinishes and the Blush Duos!
First, let me comment on the packaging. It’s quite an “either you love it, or you don’t” thing. As for me, I found it cute, as I have a schizo taste in packaging – I have a stash full of minimalist, elegant ones, though I also have a stash for cute, and colorful ones. Keeps me from feeling old, those cute stuff
I find that makeup is supposed to be colorful and fun. I find the packaging of the the MAC Cosmetics Wonder Woman Collection to look better when I have it in my hands against in checking them online, in which I found them initially a little bit tacky. They look better when you see them yourselves, so I encourage you to find time to check this collection out in the stores come Feb. 10 ( in America ).
The packaging is colorful, very comics-y and looks fun. Let’s take a look at the blush duos :

Blush duos are quite helpful because having two blush shades in one compact gives you versatility and flexibility in your makeup look. One lighter shade for an all-around day to night look, and a darker shade for a good transition into a night look when a light blush just won’t do at times. In this collection, MAC Cosmetics showcases two blush duo shades :

Mighty Aphrodite Blush Duo
Warm peach coral with gold pearl/Bright coral pink with gold pearl (Satin/Frost)

Oh, how I love this shade! The finish is satiny and not chalky on the skin – the shimmer so fine that it just looks naturally glowing on the skin, and the lighter peach coral shade ( the bigger one on the pan ) looks quite lovely on my skin. It’s a good blush to balance with a smoky eye as it looks really “nude” but still not lacking of color, nonetheless. If you feel the need to make the shade darker, then the brighter coral pink shade can make your blush show up more. The brighter coral pink shade can also be applied on the apple of your cheeks, on top of the lighter shade to make your cheeks pop.
This is a must-have, in my book! I am totally loving this blush duo!

Amazon Princess
Bright yellow pink/Deep blue pink with gold pearl (Satin)
If we have a peach blush duo, how could we not have a pink one? Amazon Princess is all about the pinks. The bright yellow pink shade ( the bigger one in the pan ) looks extra bright and is a really, really bright pink, as I was using this as a blush for my baby sister’s prom makeup, and found it too shocking for her really fair skin. Yes, this Amazon Princess is a very pigmented blush duo from the start, even with the lighter shade, so a very light hand and perhaps a dual fibre brush should be used to apply this.
With this bright pink blush duo, it can only promise one thing – make your cheeks pop! So if you’re into pigmented blushes, this is quite a winner. You can always apply with a light hand to control the pigment being applied on your cheeks. This will also show up beautifully on darker skin tones, specially the darker pink shade in the blush duo.
The smaller part of the pan looks like a reddish pink to me, though. After trying it, on its own, it can achieve a really just-flushed look, for medium to dark skintones.
Overall, I can say that these two blush duos are keepers, though I am partial to Mighty Aphrodite, as it won me over its very pretty nude peach shade that turned out in my cheeks! Amazon Princess, I think, would need some control in application for those who have fair skin tones, but would really work well for darker skin tones because of its being really pigmented.
Also, I’d like to take note on the size of the blush duos. They’re bigger than my normal MAC blushes! For reference, the diameter of the blush duo compacts are almost 3 inches in diameter. They are almost as big as my MAC Blot Powder!
Okay, on to my next product, it’s the MAC Wonder Woman Mineralize Skinfinish products,

Can I just say that the MSFs are quite…HUGE? Yes, they’re huge, and they’re even bigger than our normal compact powders! The diameter of the MAC Wonder Woman Mineralize Skinfinish is around 3.75 inches n diameter ( get your rulers now! haha! ) ! Now that’s a superhero’s compact! Hahaha! If I didn’t know what product would be inside this packaging, I would still buy this anyway because it seems like a toy! It’s quite a big compact, quite a collectible ( amongst all the items in the collection ), but the insides of the compact certainly did not disappoint – lookie!

With the huge, huge compact filled with three shades in one mineralize skin finish product, what’s to do with them? Well, the middle shade ( the biggest part of the pan ) can be used either as a foundation shade for darker skin tones ( with a little, little bit of a sheen/glow though ) or be used to sculpt the cheeks, and the two shimmery ends of the pan can be used as a blush, as a highlighter, or something to be applied on top of the blush for that added shimmer.
MAC Wonder Woman Pink Power Mineralize Skinfinish
Peachy rose with pink shimmer/Soft rosy bronze/Soft shell pink with fine shimmer

The Pink Power Mineralize Skinfinish is quite a pretty, and useful quad. For those who have fair skin tones, the middle part of the pan can be used for to subtly contour the cheeks and other parts of the face, the pink part of the pan can be used as a very, very light and shimmery pink blush ( very fairy-tale like!) and the peachy part of the pan can be used as a highlighter. For darker skin tones, these two shimmery ends of the pan can look absolutely beautiful as highlighters, and the middle part of the pan can give your existing foundation a better glow ( or if you like foundations with some glow, then this can look quite nice, I predict! ) . I like this!
Aside from Pink Power, there’s also the Golden Lariat Mineralize Skinfinish,

MAC Wonder Woman Golden Lariat Mineralize Skinfinish
True coral with fine gold shimmer/Soft suntanned bronze/Soft gold with fine shimmer
I think, Golden Lariat would look absolutely stunning for those who have darker skintones, but warm skin tones. The shades in the pan are warm, and I just feel so summery and exotic just by looking at them!
The center part of the pan’s bronze shade can prove to be a nice bronzer shade, or a bolder contour shade. The golden part of the pan ( the upper part ) would be a really, really lovely highlighter as it would compliment warm skin tones, giving off that golden glow. The bottom part of the pan appears to be a bit peach-orangey shade, and can definitely function as a blush, both for fair and dark skin.
Overall, the Golden Lariat Mineralize Skinfinish is stunning, if you’re into bronzers, and warm shades of highlighters and blushes. This is all about warmth and glow!
To Sum Up …
To sum up, I blogged about these two products first because they’re my favorite amongst all the MAC Wonder Woman products! The blush duos are most useful for alot of us who want two blush colors in one compact, and the mineralize skinfinishes had me with their packaging! The very big Mineralize Skinfinish compacts make me feel like I’m in Super Mario level _, when I am in a giant world full of giant mushrooms! Hahaha! ( now, MAC, how about a Super Mario Collection? but they’re men, eep! )
For the performance of the products, I find the the texture of the mineralize skinfinish products as stellar and good, gliding smoothly and nicely on the skin, as well as the blush duos. I have no complaints about the quality of these two products.
…but ask me, to take just one product out of these four? Packaging would compel me to take Pink Power Mineralize Skinfinish, though I would beg you to make me take Mighty Aphrodite as well, because of the beautiful color it imparts on my cheeks!
Ahhh..decisions! Who’s lemming for these?
