Be Naturally Lip Luscious With Lip Ice Sheer Color Lip Conditioner!

lipice3

Let me share with you something that I’ve been liking so much, and is a staple in my makeup bag! It’s the Lip Ice Sheer Color Lip Conditioner! I’m going straight to the point, here goes! –

Lip Ice Sheer Color Lip Conditioners are just genius. Packaged like a slim tube of lipstick, they give the lips the needed conditioning and hydration, and at the same time, upon application, gives a slight tingle to the lips as our lips turn pink in a few minutes after application – more of a natural hue rather than an imposed color of a tinted lipbalm. It just looks like our lips are pink-er than usual, an added dose of health to the lips. Take note that the degree of “pink-ness” of this lip conditioner’s effect is different with every individual, as it would depend on their lips’ acidity/moisture level. The overall effect? Healthier-looking, luscious, pink lips. Yummy looking lips, you bet!

Beauty Nerd Mode : The Hormone Diet

043740_THD

Many of us experience signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalance every day. Do you have trouble dragging yourself out of bed in the morning? Ever had an uncontrollable sugar craving at 3 pm? Chronic headaches? Lack of energy? Do you get stressed just sitting in your office? Our bodies are wired to send us signals when something isn’t right, but often we’re too busy to hear them. Compounding the problem is a lack of understanding about the consequences if these symptoms are left unaddressed. Without hormonal balance, we re more likely to succumb to many diseases and illnesses.

The Hormone Diet lays out a foolproof plan to balance your life, one hormone at a time.

I was compelled to read The Hormone Diet, as I have read from the marketing materials about the book, that the book is definitely out of the ordinary. It’s not a fad diet that makes you lose weight in days. It’s about how to balance our hormone levels, to be able to lose weight, have a better metabolism, and have a better feeling, and even sleeping better everyday!

Sophie’s Travel Tales : The Kingdom of Cambodia

DSC_2587

To be perfectly honest with you, I’m not a very “game” person when it comes to backpacking, walking great lengths, mountain climbing, crossing suspension bridges, and all those adventurous stuff. I like my vacations fuss-free, ultra relaxing, and not having to “rough it,” in any way.

And then I go to Cambodia. Hahahaha!

Well, I figured that I wasn’t getting any older, and these places with potentially adventurous things to do are going to be impossible for me to indulge in once I get older and my stamina drops, so well, for the heck of it, I went to Cambodia for four days with my college buddies!

Are you ready for my tale?

Makeup Palette LOVE

Picture 16

Palettes, oh palettes!

Through and through, makeup palettes make our lives easier. Here are reasons why I love them :

* They’re already a set. We don’t need to buy eyeshadows/blushes/lipcolors one by one, which take so much research and effort. Usually, brands try to group together shades that would go well together, with a theme ( say, neutral, or colorful palette ), or their bestsellers!

* Organization wise, they’re a dream. Instead of thinking on and on on how to organize your makeup, getting more containers, palettes are just…there. They can sit around your table, they can be on top of anything, they don’t disturb the zen, or mess up your room.

Challenging Obagi Elastiderm Eye Treatment Cream

obagi-elastiderm-eye-treatment-cream2

I was able to know more about Elastiderm when I met Aimee DeMarais for the Obagi event months back. I was just so impressed with it claims,

ELASTIderm is a one of a kind eye treatment from Obagi Medical Products. By using a revolutionary bi-mineral complex called Copper Zinc Malonate, it works to help restore the elasticity around your eyes and reduce the appearance of visible fine lines and wrinkles.

The claims and even before and after photos were compelling ( see it here ), that I was determined to see if this really works. As I got a jar of this product for me, I also extended it to my dad, who is so particular about his eyes. I actually put the jar of Elastiderm on his bedside, so that he won’t forget as I have taught him to apply this product on his lid, undereye, and areas with crow’s feet. I’m quite anxious to see if this really works, so I have also taken the plunge to challenge Obagi Elastiderm and apply this every morning and evening!

At first apply, I was actually feeling weird, as it was an eye cream, and it got absorbed in my undereyes really quickly, and within 5 minutes, my undereyes were totally dry, without a trace of moisture in it! I kept on wondering why for days on why it worked like that, and upon re-checking on their website, I realized that this was not a moisturizing eye cream, but an eye treatment cream that really targets wrinkles and fine lines, that you would need another eye cream to act as a moisturizer around the eye area! With that, I am supplementing this, for the meanwhile, alternating between my Pond’s Gold Radiance Eye Cream and almost finished Eyliplex-2 ( that I so love! ) .

Oh and let me just share – my dad is just so cute, that he wants an “eye lift!” He’s also a bit alarmed about looking old ( who’s not? ) so with him in mind, I have agreed to share my pot of Elastiderm Eye Cream with him as I religiously apply it on his undereyes, where the eye bags are, and on the sides of the eyes, which are areas that crows feet can show. I’ve been seeing slight improvements, like the crows feet are not too prominent, but I want more drastic results. I’m continuing this on dad.

Well, the challenge is on!

Beautynomics Review : Smooth 365 Intensive Clarity Smoothing Peptide Serum

DSC_0929

Last year, I was given a chance to try the Smooth 365 Intensive Clarity Smoothing Peptide Serum. What is it?

This peptide-infused, all over face serum helps skin amplify its natural collagen production while instantly blurring the look of lines & wrinkles for visibly less lined skin. Immediately upon application, skin’s clarity, tone and texture are instantly improved which allows makeup to be applied seamlessly for a flawless finish.

To sum up, it gives you three powerful ingredients giving the following benefits -

Clarity-Promoting Extracts – perfect skintone for a more uniform, translucent complexion
Optical Diffusers – instantly blur imperfections, lines and wrinkles
Power Peptides – boost collagen production to help keep skin less lined

This product seems really really promising, just reading up on what it has to offer and what it can do for the skin. Being the skin care buff that I am, I definitely put it on a hotseat, as good things like this are difficult to pass up, if they really do live up to their expectations! Continue reading

Beautynomics Review : L’Oreal Professionel Serie Nature Source de Richesse Line

loreal_2

It’s been awhile since I’ve tried L’Oreal Professionel products. I used to try them when I was in college – being in awe of all the products in magazines, wanting to try almost everything that would address all my problems in skin, hair, and body. I think during my teenage life, I battled mostly with my oily, acne-prone skin and really frizzy hair. With problematic frizzy hair ( we were in the advent of hair rebonding, but I was still too young to be able to afford such, and my mom believed in natural solutions ) I tried all the available hair products in the market and tried L’Oreal Professionel’s Serie Anti Frizz line. It proved to tame down my hair, but with it being so cost prohibitive on my end, I moved on to other stuff. Continue reading

Beautynomics Review : L’Occitane Green Tea Shower Gel

loccitane

Just this Christmas vacation, I was able to meet up with longtime friend Cristine, who’s based in Singapore already. She handed me a present, and imagine my glee when I unwrapped it – a body wash!

She gave me a bottle of L’Occitane Green Tea Shower Gel! Oh, totally happiness!

I was very pleased with my present – a fancy body wash ( it’s L’Occitane! ) looking pretty good, in a clear plastic bottle, and the best thing about it is the variant – it’s green tea! I’m such a green tea lover, from the drinking kind, to the bath product or fragrance kind!

Q & A With Beauty Guru Michelle Phan

michphan

Image Source : Michelle Phan’s FB page

Last December, I was given the chance of a lifetime to be able to chat with Youtube Makeup Guru Michelle Phan. Due to schedule problems ( as I was firmly planted in my booth the whole of December ), I wasn’t able to participate in the group chat with Nikki, Shen, and Phoebe. But lucky me that CloseUp made things happen by letting me ask Michelle Phan some questions to be able to share her knowledge to Beautynomics readers!

Well, Michelle Phan is such a success story, starting from her cute Youtube tutorials, gaining such a huge following, and even catching Lancome’s attention! I wish one day I would be like that, but she is just a success story that I wouldn’t mind getting inspired with.

Anyway, on to her Q&A, for your reading pleasure!
