skinwithin

Sunblock, after moisturizer, must be one of my most dreaded skin care routines, as I don’t really like sunblock. The white stuff applied on my face makes me feel warm, and…well, I just don’t like it.

But then, my dermatologist nagged me through and through that even if I visit her a million times a month, have those treatments and all, it would be all futile if I don’t do the one easiest thing to do to prevent my skin from aging – live forever, with sunblock.

As I whined about how I hate the texture of sunblocks in the market, she lifted her finger and put my rants to a halt, and got something from her bag – a new sunblock that she’s letting me try. I read – SkinWithin.

“Sun Defend & Restore SPF 45+” is an elegant, lightweight, oil free, non-tinted, anti-aging sun screen utilizing 9.0% micronized zinc oxide and 7.5% octinoxate (OMC) to DEFEND your skin from damage by UV rays and the elements. This innovative sun screen includes the multi-functional anti-aging active ingredients Phytosan K, Gatuline Age Defense 2, and Gatuline Skin Repair Bio to RESTORE the skin damage caused by previous exposure to UV rays and the elements.

A more lengthy explanation can be found in its page here (homework for you who are interested ) , but summing it up, it doesn’t only act as a barrier to the harmful UVA and UVB rays, the product is also infused with antioxidants that really nourish the skin and facilitates skin regeneration.

Going back, before purchasing this, I asked if I could pump some product on my skin to “feel” the product on my skin, if my skin would cringe again with sunblock or not. Surprisingly, it felt like those really comfortable water-based moisturizers ( music to my ears! ) , so I decided to give it a try. The SPF 40+ variant was tinted, and I opted for the SPF 45+ one, which is the untinted one.

Would you believe that this is absolutely the best sunblock that I’ve ever tried? Goodness, when I applied it on my skin after my toner and serum in the morning, it quickly absorbed in my skin, and my skin really felt comfortable for the entire day. This product did not cause my skin to oil up at all, nor did it grease up my skin like other sunblock or moisturizers. It was such an amazing experience for me, that for the first time in my life, I get really excited in the morning applying sunblock, even if I’m not going outdoors. I get excited in the thought that I’m actually enthusiastic about keeping my skin young by applying sunblock ( we should all be motivated like that. haha! )

For those who dread sunblock, who have really oily skin ( moisturizer-phobic girls ), and those who would want a sun protection + antioxidantproduct rolled in one, I would highly, highly recommend SkinWithin Defend & Restore. I think it’s being sold around P 2,000.00 and are available in your local dermatologist’s offices. I deem that the product is very much worth the price, as you get that comforting, non-greasy feeling from sunblock, with added benefits that just makes your skin smooth and soft!

Sigh, it’s been more than a month, and I’m still in love with this product! I’ve actually stopped dreading applying sunblock in the morning. In fact, I now get excited for my morning routine!

    Wow.
I suppose I really should start using some sunscreen despite the fact that I hate how greasy it feels.

BTW: I sent you a couple of messages to your beautynomics email and beautyandminerals email. Please reply asap : )
    Thanks

hi sophie! I’m an avid reader of your blog. I use to hate sunblocks too because we live in a tropical country and i’ve got oily skin. Then while I was at SG a friend recommended this Biore UV milk. It was sooo cheap I use it 2x a day, very high SPF (50pa+++), mattifies my face like no other and doesn’t even leave a nasty white cast on my face! I’m on my fifth bottle..I buy my supply from this mart along banawe. It’s so nice to discover that you don’t have to be so privilege to get quality and reliable products these days. :)

I hate using those creamy sunblocks. It makes my face feel sticky and heavy. What I use instead are sunblock sprays as they’re light on the face. Now I use Neutrogena Ultimate Sport Sunblock which I bought from tameraonline.com. It’s SPF 100 so it’s pretty good for the coming summer months.

Hi Lisa : Thanks for commenting! :) I have used Biore as a friend from Singapore brought two bottles with her for a sunny adventure here! I agree that it’s very watery and it feels great, too :)

Frances : nice to know that the Ultimate Sport Sunblock is working for you! Neutrogena has really good sunblocks.

    p.s.

it doesn’t have any white cast, it didn’t make my skin itchy, blotchy, oily and i didn’t have any allergic reaction.

my mom has a dry skin but it didn’t make it drier, and i have an oily skin and i am proud to say my skin stayed matte – no oily issues here.

If i’m in a hurry i can leave the house with just skinwithin and johnson’s baby powder – just like the manager I mentioned above.
