I’d just like to share with you one really funny story that transpired last Wednesday.
I was really burned out from work and bazaars, that I begged a day off from my day job to tag along Phoebe and Shen‘s Bobbi Brown event. My hair wasn’t the most cooperative that day ( whew I just came from the salon now and it’s so much better though I look like Dora/Emily Strange – picture to follow haha! ) and I was in Zara waiting for Phoebe. While waiting, I spotted a really pretty floral dress, and as I checked on the pricelist prior to going to the dressing room, I saw the price – at P 4,500.00 pesos – gasp! With my surprise and Phoebe’s “peekaboo” performance on me, my fingers involuntarily let go of the hold of the hanger, and the dress dropped to the floor! Okay, I managed to put it back to where it was, and proceeded to the event.
The Bobbi Brown Event was such an amazing event – meeting Ina Casas, Brand Manager for Bobbi Brown, and meeting Bobbi Brown International Trainer Cecilia Tay and Singapore-based Bobbi Brown makeup artist Noel Roy Subade ( proudly Filipino! ). It is definitely worth a separate post, but what I’m going to highlight in this entry is the most gorgeous piece of Bobbi Brown makeup that I’ve seen as part of their holiday collection – photo above – isn’t it absolutely stunning? It’s called the Modern Classic Lip and Eye Palette. A set of really nice neutral eyeshadows, plus yummy-looking au naturelle lip shades. Oh gosh. Such a girl’s best friend! It’s so travel-friendly, and it has so much shades in one small palettte! Damage? P 4,500.00! My gosh, I am seriously lemming for this!
Post-event ( here goes ) I was complaining to Phoebe, almost not breathing saying this sentence in the fastest way I can in a rant manner ( and I mean in a serious, serious tone! ),
“Phoebe, did you see that dress at Zara awhile ago? Absurd, it’s P4,500.00! Expensive! You could have gotten that super nice Bobbi Brown eye and lip palette for that price already!”
Phoebe stared at me and burst out laughing. Tsk tsk, tsk – is this bad, that I actually prioritized makeup over clothes? hahahaha! and I don’t even complain on expensive makeup – only expensive clothes! Hahaha!
That’s about a funny Wednesday for me!
So, anyone of you who wants to get that palette? There are so much beautiful sets from Bobbi Brown as part of their holiday collection! I say you check them out at Rustans. Seriously worth it.

HAHA. Yes, you’re a funny woman
But to each her own, and if that palette makes you happy, then we all support you!
Mwah!
hahaha, right!
when we love something (like makeup for you) we tend to ignore the price but think it’s absurd when the pricetag is on something else (like the dress
)
hahaha
i want that palette…arggh!
I guess I’m funny (and maybe a little bit crazy too, eh?) too. I don’t really worry about clothes and shoes too much that I complain when something is priced so ridiculously. But with makeup, I spend as much as I can on something really good (Although I still can’t find myself buy something from Chantecaille. Super expensive).
Oh wow. So pretty but so expensive!
If it were maybe P1,000 cheaper I’d buy this for my mom for Christmas.
