Just by taking Anne Curtis as L’Oreal Total Repair 5‘s image model took my breath away. I just believe that she is one of the loveliest faces that grace our TV screen as of late! She is just so classy to look at as well, that makes her fit for a luxurious global brand like L’Oreal!
Swooning aside, I think that the new L’Oreal Total Repair Hair Care Line is one of the best releases that L’Oreal has ever had. Why? Well, the Elseve has fared okay-okay ( always had to compare them to Kerastase, but somewhat just a little bit diluted in formulation, of course with the price! ) , but Total Repair fared out g.r.e.a.t on me. Why? let me list it down :
* Maybe it’s because my hair is damaged that my hair had more affinity to it. Hair too damaged from coloring, or chemical treatments become a bit brittle and do not yield with just any conditioner. My hair is somewhat coarse, thus poofy, that it requires me to have a hair rebonding every year.
* Dry hair is much different from damaged hair. I once felt that my hair was dry, but now, I think it’s more damaged than dry. Okay, to be less harsh with my hair, I’d call it “sensitised.” Haha! With L’Oreal Total Repair 5, I’ve felt that my hair was actually listening to me and cooperating, by being “all behaved!” It isn’t as unruly and frizzy as before, too.
* My scalp is very sensitive. Right now, my only shampoo is Physiogel as my scalp breaks out with shampoos and conditioners that have really strong formulations. I was really nervous when I was packing toiletries for my 2-week trip to Canada as it was cold there, and I was afraid that my scalp would breakout with that climate. Lo and behold, packing my L’Oreal Total Repair Deep Moisturizing Masque proved to be a blessing. It really made my hair looking healthy, and well-moisturized, and my scalp never felt irritated during my entire trip there! This is such great news for those who have sensitive scalps, that L’Oreal Total Repair can totally work for you!

* It also maintained my colored hair nicely – my hair dries into a shiny finish, that I almost could not believe it as before, my hair color just fades into a brassy or mousy color that I so hate. Well, that’s a INOA + L’Oreal’s Total Repair combo!
As for the shampoo, I find it okay-okay, as I don’t really put too much emphasis on shampooing- I just grab whatever mild stuff I have, and move on to the product that benchmarks, and puts a brand REALLY to the test- conditioners!
I find it interesting that in L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Hair Care Line‘s range, there are three conditioners – a Repairing Treatment looking like a huge tube of conditioner, a Repairing Conditioner looking like a smaller, more compact conditioner, a Night Repair product that you can use while you sleep ( hey! I find this super interesting, my sisters use this! ) and a Deep Repairing Masque. If you ask me, I’d choose Deep Repairing Masque in a heartbeat since I eat masques for breakfast. Haha! Kidding aside, for someone who needs really intense treatment, and hair lovin`, and for someone who suspects her hair can be dry and damaged at the same time, the Deep Repairing Masque is the perfect everyday companion, just right after shampooing. Those who have normal to slightly oily hair might take solace in the lighter formulas. The Night Repair Treatment, on the other hand, proves to be interesting, as it is applied on your hair just before you drift to dreamland. I like applying this on the tips of my hair ( avoiding the upper parts, I just don’t feel comfortable applying too much product on my hair during night time ), waking up to slightly moisturized hair tips, all ready for showering!
Well, on a side note, my luggage was too heavy ( imagine, with 50 kilos luggage allowance I still had problems? Sheesh! ) , that I had to sacrifice my half-used Total Repair Deep Repairing Masque and hand it over it to my bestfriend who lives there. I’m sure that she’s loving it right now, as I will definitely be buying my next pot very very soon – the masque is definitely a keeper. Take my word for it!
Anyone tried this range already ? Would love to hear from you!

Hi Sophie
I’m an avid reader of your blog and Pheobe’s bus mate haha! I tried this range over the weekend and I must say that my hair became more manageable and less frizzy after 2 showers. I love the deep repairing masque too and it is definitely a must-have! Thanks for this very thorough review!
Hi Kris!
(makiki-busmate narin ako! ) that was such a funny encounter that when P & I were together yday, I even mentioned it to a friend that P stumbled into a “bus-mate”!
) hahahaha! Yes, this is incredible, and I didn’t expect so much on this! I kept on babbling on how nice this is, but neglected to say that it works as the same way as Kerastase’s “ciment” thingie that fills in the gaps like “cement” on our damaged hair strands ( damaged hair strands tend to be damaged like “roads). With that, I just noticed wearing my hair just nicely, without those awful poofy, or frizzy moments! My sister was wondering why my hair was so nice yesterday, and I only used Physiogel ( a really tangly shampoo for sensitive scalp ) + the treatment! I will repurchase this for as long as I can for maintenance! LOVE IT!
– ok i talk too much
see you soon dearie!
