The key ingredient, shiso extract, has been especially chosen for this sophisticated collection. This shiso plant has been used in the Moisture White™ collection, as it can reduce early melanin-making signals even before the hyperpigmentation process and melanin production cycle starts – helping prevent uneven skin tone, brown spots and freckles. By focusing on early melanin activation, Moisture White™ helps minimise dark spots formation and discolouration. The benefits of shiso also mean that cells in the epidermis can improve the appearance of dark spots on the skin’s surface, so you can enjoy renewed skin confidence.
Shiso extract is combined with Vitamin C, liquorice and Community Trade organic aloe, a blend of ingredients providing the Moisture White™ range with the efficiency to address hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C is included as it provides antioxidant protection, helping to reduce melanin production. Liquorice extract from the root of the Glycyrrhiza Glabra plant is chosen by The Body Shop for the Moisture White™ collection as it helps address hyperpigmentation.
The Body Moisture White Shiso Range has three main ingredients in which it makes it the perfect whitening skin care range – Liquorice, Vitamin C, and Shiso Extract.
Roadtesting this a month before I tried Pond‘s, here are my thoughts about the Moisture White Shiso Range.

Moisture White™ Foaming Facial Wash
Moisture White™ Foaming Facial Wash, expertly cleanses the skin whilst perfectly preserving its softness. Vitamin C and liquorice extract are also included, and this product helps to promote skin clarity and radiance, helping to soothe and brighten.
The instant mousse-to-foam, oil-free wash creates a luxuriously rich and creamy lather to cleanse and remove dead skin cells. Use every morning to cleanse, refresh and awaken the skin and with regular use skin is clean, soft and supple for a clearer and brighter complexion.
I love this foaming facial wash. Why? First thing, it’s water-based. It guarantees that your skin won’t oil up an hour after, because of the facial wash. It cleans your skin effectively, but it leaves your skin soft, and it’s just so comfortable. I’ve passed this on to my baby sister Sugar, who’s 17, who’s been asking for a mild facial wash to use for everyday, as she needs something for “teenagers” already. This one, I deem mild, is a great facial wash for those who are stepping into puberty, with all those hormones and oil glands acting like crazy. This won’t harm your skin a bit, and it’s not harsh at all.

Moisture White Shiso Cleansing Powder
Your skin will feel fresh, refined and silky smooth, with this Shiso Cleansing Powder. The gentle powder particles create a creamy lather when you mix with water, so you can use as a mild exfoliation every day.
Gently remove dead skin cells and impurities without drying your skin out, with the Shiso Cleansing Powder. As well as containing shiso extract, Vitamin C and liquorice, this cleansing powder also contains
organic aloe, sourced through the unique Community Trade programme. In product trials carried out in Japan, users agreed that their skin felt softer and more refined.
This is a really unique concept in terms of facial wash. When I tried to tilt the bottle to get product on my palm, I was surprised to have grainy powder rush-poured to my palm! It looked like milk powder. I was dumbstruck for around 5 seconds, not knowing what to do with the powder on my palm, with the silly me not reading instructions before. Okay, I opened my faucet to get some droplets on the powder, trying to make a pastey mixture out of it, then started applying it on my face, using it like normal facial wash. I can’t quite describe on the texture of this Powder Wash as it’s sort of creamy, but not creamy-greasy like oily skinned girls would not be able to tolerate. It’s definitely water-based, as it can be mixed with water, so this is a joy for oily-skinned gals to use. This leaves my skin really squeaky clean, without the tight feeling. My skin feels wonderful and clean, after using this. The grainy add-on gives an exfoliating add-on to the facial wash.
I would highly recommend this facial wash for those who have problems with finding the perfect facial wash – are yours too greasy? too harsh? do they cause your skin to break out? The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Cleansing Powder, I deem, is very, very mild, but it won’t grease up your skin at all. This falls in second to my most favorite facial wash of all time – the Nu Skin Cleansing Gel, which is the mildest, and most effective facial wash for me. I would gladly substitute this, and use this everyday. Rave, rave, rave!

Moisture White™ Shiso Moisturising Essence I & II
On # I
If you have oily to normal skin, hydrate your skin with this moisturising essence. It provides up to12 hours of hydration, helps give your skin a matte appearance, refreshing and hydrating skin to help it
look brighter and more radiant. This lotion absorbs easily into your skin, containing shiso extract, Vitamin C, liquorice and organic aloe sourced from Guatemala through the Community Trade fair trade
programme. Over 80% of Japanese users stated this product helped their skin look brighter, and was also found through user trials to help skin feel softer and more hydrated.
On # II
For normal to dry skin, this Shiso Moisturising Essence II is ideal to help skin look brighter, more radiant and feel soft, moisturised and supple. Easily absorbed, this lotion contains shiso extract, Vitamin C, liquorice and organic aloe vera sourced by The Body Shop through the Community Trade programme. Loved by users, 75% of users said they
could see an improvement in their skin brightness.
Okay, you’ll laugh again. When I saw the word “Essence,” I immediately thought this was a serum, or something, so without reading the instructions again ( why have I been so stubborn lately? haha ! ) , I just applied this like moisturizer! Now, this product is just like water! Haha! Ok, really now, this is a toner. I find this toner really refreshing, and no-nonsense, as more dirt and oil come off when I wipe my face with a cotton with the toner. Skin does not feel tight at all, but I feel my skin extra clean. Oily-skinned gals need extra cleaning even after washing their faces. Sigh. We have all the luck in the world! Haha!
I use the I, while my baby sister Sugar uses II. As a teenager, I really want to give her the best and mildest skin care out there. I need to give her the best, but they can’t be too harsh as she’s 17, and she’s still considered to have baby skin. She’s been using the Moisture White™ Foaming Facial Wash, and the Moisture White™ Shiso Moisturising Essence II on her face, and I haven’t heard her complaining, and I see her skin just the way it should be – young, and unharmed. Yes, I tell you, this line from The Body Shop is as mild as it can be!
Ask me, if they have whitening effects? Well, the truth is, I’m not totally wild about whitening products. Whitening takes time with skin care, and aside from facial wash, and toners, one step to whitening or a more radiant complexion is constant exfoliation – sloughing off dead skin cells that make our skin dull and lifeless, and saying hello to new, soft, radiant skin. In choosing skin care, the primary objective is to have quality skin care that would work with your skin, retain its balance ( not to strip off natural moisture that would cause more dryness, or trigger more oil production ), and keep skin how it should be – no breakouts, no reactions, no rashes. Checking if it is effective in whitening is almost secondary, but also an important point to consider. Using these products helped my skin look slightly brighter after washing my face, and with constant use, add exfoliation to the skin care regime, I just know that these would really work well. These products I just reviewed are so promising, that I’m willing to repurchase these babies upon running out.
My second part review about The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Range is more about whitening, as the products featured in part two are more targetted whitening solutions, as compared to these regular skin care maintenance products. But then, I’m very much impressed with The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Skin Care! Just so mild, and works well!

Wow! Nice Review sis!
Another advantage of the Moisture White Shiso Cleansing Powder is that you can put it in your hand carry when you travel abroad.
