EARBONES is my Earphones Savior!

EarBones Poster

Hi boys and girls!

I’m back from my much needed vacation from Canada, and boy, am I suffering from jetlag! I am now catching up with posts, and getting ready to tell you about my trip ( which was so fun and fabulous! ) , but then, let me share with you something really really cool that made my travel much, much more comfortable.

My number one travel companion is my trusty ‘ol Ipod Touch. I don’t usually use my Ipod Touch when I’m in Manila as I have my laptop with me, but when I travel, it’s always handy to have one – listening and watching movies on the plane, and internet surfing whenever there’s a wifi hotspot in a certain place. It also helps when I don’t bring my laptop with me to check and answer urgent emails. I love my Ipod Touch so much that I just cannot do without it whenever I travel! It’s my number one companion when I’m alone or bored. With that, I also bring my earphones with me that let me listen and watch movies in my Ipod Touch.

Before, I just wrap my earphones around my Ipod Touch, and just stuff it in my bag. The result? I have trouble looking for it inside my bag, and trouble breaks in as the loosely wrapped earphones get tangled with my other stuff in the bag, and it’s such a trouble retrieving it as I usually bring a big bag for travel with so many stuff.

Vitamin-ized Skin With The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Radiance Powder Mix

144296

My dermatologist, Marledi Dizon, just mildly scolded me for not visiting her for close to four or five months already, as I was busy with lots of things. I remember that she was able to save my skin by visiting her office every three weeks, and a monthly maintenance with my favorite peeling session was done to keep my skin not-so-troublesome.

If you ask me if one visit to the dermatologist would save your skin, I’d say not. It takes one skin cycle, which is three months, for skin to improve. So if you have problem skin ( oily, blemish-prone ) like mine, take into heart that you need to visit your dermatologist ( or a new one ) at least three times before judging if he/she is the dermatologist for you. In my case, I invested 3 months of going to her office every three weeks, and I had drastic improvement. My skin is not as blemish-prone as before, and though it’s still oily, a monthly peeling session just makes my skin become better, and better!

Speaking of peeling, and going back to my story, with my long absence, I’ve had micro-comedones form on my forehead ( itago nalang natin sa tawag na “butlig” hahaha! ), and some stubborn comedones here and there. I’m lucky that I did not have any angry, red inflammations ( thanks to MaMa Lotion, now called M2 Skin Refinish ) With that, she told me that she was going aggressive and will apply more peeling solution ( PCASkin, the best, and safest there is! ), so I should expect the peeling on my skin on the next few days to be more noticeable, as PCASkin peels , when done, are hardly noticeable, and have really really fine micropeeling ( love it! )

My dermatologist loves Vitamin C, and really strongly recommends Vitamin C serums right after having a diamond peel is performed, or any kind of chemical peeling. What I’m using now? The Body Shop Vitamin C Facian Radiance Powder Mix.

Beautynomics Review : The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Range

shisogroup

The key ingredient, shiso extract, has been especially chosen for this sophisticated collection. This shiso plant has been used in the Moisture White™ collection, as it can reduce early melanin-making signals even before the hyperpigmentation process and melanin production cycle starts – helping prevent uneven skin tone, brown spots and freckles. By focusing on early melanin activation, Moisture White™ helps minimise dark spots formation and discolouration. The benefits of shiso also mean that cells in the epidermis can improve the appearance of dark spots on the skin’s surface, so you can enjoy renewed skin confidence.

Shiso extract is combined with Vitamin C, liquorice and Community Trade organic aloe, a blend of ingredients providing the Moisture White™ range with the efficiency to address hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C is included as it provides antioxidant protection, helping to reduce melanin production. Liquorice extract from the root of the Glycyrrhiza Glabra plant is chosen by The Body Shop for the Moisture White™ collection as it helps address hyperpigmentation.

The Body Moisture White Shiso Range has three main ingredients in which it makes it the perfect whitening skin care range – Liquorice, Vitamin C, and Shiso Extract.

Roadtesting this a month before I tried Pond‘s, here are my thoughts about the Moisture White Shiso Range.

Beauty and the Bod : Shapin` It Up With Spanx!

spanx_1

“My dear you have a tummy! And you didn’t have that when we were in Bora last year!” said, my friend last Saturday as we were fitting clothes for our best friend’s wedding that’s going to be in a week’s time.

Oh dear. Gone are the days wherein I can just binge eat to the max ( you should see me eat! ) and get away with it with NO tummy, and a slim physique. I promise, I really eat alot as I am very much of a food lover. Now is the point wherein I must accept the fact that my metabolism is finally slowing down, and it just can’t keep up with my binge eating. The first sign of my slowing metabolism – signs showing in my tummy. Argh. I totally hate it. I look semi-pregnant now! Okay, a little bit exaggerating there. Maybe I look like I have a small, small, small bump.

As much as I kept on promising that I’d exercise and do crunches to trim down my tummy, it’s a week to go, for goodness’ sake. With my figure-hugging dress all ready for some photo ops with me in it ( or without it, kidding! ) , I opted to run to Rustans to get myself some Spanx. Yes, I need some figure-shaping ASAP!

Levi’s I Believe Contest Winners

Hey everyone!

First of all, I would like to thank all the entries that were submitted for the Levi’s I Believe Contest. All the entries were inspiring, as I enjoyed all the entries. I am particularly pleased, and beaming with pride that everyone has something that they firmly believe in, and are willing to stand up for. The Levi’s I Believe campaign, I deem, is a success, as it has made people step forward, make concrete in what they believe in, and be not afraid to stand by their beliefs.

My three favorite entries, on the other hand, will be getting Levi’s GCs ( for the others, I still have contests, don’t worry! :) )

Finding the Scent of Serenity With Amber Lights Laguna Soya Candles

amber

I love anything aromatherapy, anything scented that doesn’t smell phoney or synthetic. In other words, I’m in love with the scent of nature. Essential oils, and fresh-smelling scents, I’m all up for that!

One of my recent loves is the Amber Lights Laguna Soya Candles. Yes, I’m just about to start my scented candle addiction with these – look at them – all white, just looking at it makes takes my mind to serenity already!

Amber Lights Laguna Soy Candles all started with my friend Smile, and husband Cameron loving scented candles so much, that Smile started making her own. Soy candles are a great alternative to normal paraffin candles, as soy candles burn cleanly, and does not produce black soot like paraffin does. Soy candles also distribute, and throw the scent well into the room, so the room graced by lighted soy candles just smell so good, minus the headaches!

Heat Is Good With Kerastase Nutri Thermique!

Kerastase Nutri Thermique

“The 1st nourishing treatments with heat-reactive ingredients for intense, long-lasting effects.”

It’s no secret that I’m horribly biased towards Kerastase. Why, it’s my favorite brand of all time! I am endlessly impressed Recherche Avancee L’Oreal for coming up with the most technologically advanced Kerastase hair care products, as I’ve seen them work in my own hair, and for others as well. I was first awed with Kerastase the moment I tried the Oleo Relax line, when hair relaxing was just a trend and hair rebonding was still a dream away – it made my hair de-poof by 50%, just using the Bain ( shampoo ) , masque ( deep conditioner ) and serum! Now, Kerastase dares those who have dry hair to jump in and try Nutri-Thermique – an intense care for nourishing dry hair, using its “Thermo-Intense System.”

Beautynomics Review : Pond’s Pure White Facial Wash

purewhite

It’s been closely a month now since I’ve been using Pond’s Pure White Facial Wash. I know, the new product of Pond’s has just taken Manila by storm, with these being picked up every few seconds, getting all sold out everywhere! I guess everyone’s just really curious on how it’d fare, or if it’d really deliver what it promises – drawing out skin impurities, and deep-cleansing our skin without drying our skin.

The promise stems from activated carbon, an ingredient that is said to draw out all the dirt – black attracts black. This ingredient is also present in various Asian products that are colored black, such as Kose Sekkisei’s mask, and charcoal soaps. Well, let’s see how it fared on me!

Charm Goes Professional with The Charm PRO Makeup Brush Line!

charmpro

Sometimes, I think of Beautynomics as the older ( but very very pretty, still ) sister of Beauty & Minerals. After all, upon starting to beauty blog four years ago, I’ve been just obsessed about beauty products, and discovering what’s really really good, I opened Beauty & Minerals roughly a year after Beautynomics to offer to the market my prized beauty picks, that are not readily available in the country. As I went on enjoying my time giving consultations and making people get converted to mineral makeup with Beauty & Minerals, I also got smitten with makeup brushes. Thus, I’ve created my own line of makeup brushes, called Charm. Continue reading
