It was a lazy Saturday, a few minutes close to dinner that I strolled in and got myself disappointed that I could not buy the MAC lipstick in Shy Girl that I was really wanting my best friend to get for her birthday, so upon leaving Rustans, my eyes slightly strayed to the right, to the very well-maintained area of L’Occitane, and I thought, hey, I’ve never tried anything from here! Might as well see what I can get and review, and maybe appreciate. ( yes, my mind works like that! )
As I walked, and walked, I saw this really strong deodorant worth 800 bucks ( close to 20 usd ), and I was like woah! Not very cheap, though it smelled so strongly of essential oils that particularly go well with my nose, I thought I still had my trusty, mid-priced Nu Skin Scion Deodorant, and that would have to wait when I’m feeling generous. I proceeded to the products for the face. My eyes, for a moment were locked with this very attractively boxed product that had the world “Immortelle.” Oh, how my mind gets fixed and fascinated with things “immortal!”
*Sidenote: Just as I was writing the word “immortelle”, the song in my head goes, “Forever young, I wanna be forever young , do you really want to live forever, and ever, and ever?” FAVORITE SONG!
Okay, going back to my story, I asked what that “immortelle” product was, and turns out, it was sunblock with a brightening formula from essential oils. I tried the tester on my hands, and upon feeling it very much light on my skin, and with its veeerrryy watery consistency, I was immediately sold. I saw the price. P 2,750.00. Such expensive sunblock. But seeing the word “immortelle”, SPF 40/PA+++, “Brightening” were high ranking keywords in my shopping SEO ( they rank high! hahaha! ), I decided to give it a try because the product’s consistency was watery. I would really kill for watery, non-pore-clogging sunblock. I need one kind of sunblock that would make me want to be excited to use it everyday! So there, purchase done.
For more information of the product, let me just share :
A protective fluid with anti-UV anti-pollution action enriched with Daisy extract and Organic Immortelle Essential Oil.
The UV Brightening Shield is a protective fluid which visibly preserves youth and brightens skin. Apply after moisturizer for the ultimate protection against UV rays and environmental stresses.
Its light, non oily formula combines:
• organic Immortelle Essential Oil, concentrated in time-released micro capsules, for long lasting anti-wrinkle, anti-free radical and firming effectiveness,
• Daisy flower brightening extract (bellis perennis), combined with a vitamin C derivative to make the complexion uniform and more radiant,
• UV filters of mineral origin, to protect skin against UV rays,
• a combination of 3 ingredients of vegetal origin (sunflower oil, rice loaf and ivy extracts) which contributes to fight against harmful effects of pollution.Immortelle grows abundantly on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and has an exceptionally long life. Immortelle flowers produce an Essential Oil that boosts collagen synthesis, stimulates cutaneous micro circulation to enhance cell renewal*.
Natural products like these really pique my interest. Another thing about this, is that it’s the first time I’ve seen a sunblock product that has Titanium Dioxide as a main ingredient with a very high SPF rating, and assures you of protection from UVA and UVB rays. Very promising.
I tried it yesterday after putting on my trusty Nu Skin Celltrex Recovery Fluid ( yes, that is my default moisturizer to date, no SPF but no greasiness ), and I was surprised on how nicely and quickly it worked – the quick absorption, and grease-free feeling, and the smell was very pleasant for it smelled of mild, mild nature, not of chemical SPF. Quite a change, quite a change that I’d love to continue if no skin reactions would occur.
Well, I’m really really hoping that this would be the sunblock of my dreams! Stay tuned for more updates about this!
